《Call Of Death》Chapter 71 : The Story 1

The officer was just sitting straight on the chair. His hands and legs are still tied up. He doesn't seem to be afraid nor nervous at all. Ju Jin Su admires his braveness but he also felt a bit worried. Even though he knows that Red won't do anything harmful towards him, he couldn't predict the future and he might be wrong. He'd known Red for a long time but he wasn't sure sometimes of what was going on inside the guy's head. Even if he won't kill anyone if there wasn't any reason to end their lives, though he trust Red will never hurt anyone who didn't do anything bad towards him or towards anyone, he still felt worried. Ju Jin Su walked towards him and sat on the old wooden chair near him.
"Officer, are you still awake?" Ju Jin Su asked, Officer Chad turned his head to his direction, indicating that he is awake. "You can't fall asleep?"
"How can I fall asleep if it's so uncomfortable? I was abducted and being held captive. My hands and legs are tied and this blindfold was a bit tight." He casually said.
Ju Jin Su cracked a smile. "Do you want me to take off your blindfold or should I untie you? Will it make you comfortable?" He asked.
Devius was silent for a while. Thinking if he was being tricked or the person in that room was really gonna do it. He really found his voice and his presence very familiar. It's as if they have spent some time before. If he thinks about it, he sounded like Cameron but he isn't. They way he spoke is more calm and soothing than the detective.
"What?"
"I'm asking you, if you want me to remove your blindfold so you could feel comfortable." Ju Jin Su repeated.
"Would you really do that?" The latter asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
Ju Jin Su let out a quiet laugh, shaking his head. He stood up and went to get the masked hanged on the wall. He used it to cover his face and went back to Devius. He stared at the police officer before starting to remove his blindfold. Officer Chad held his breath while the action is being done then he slowly opened his eyes. He closed it again to adjust to the blurry surroundings. When his vision finally recovered, he looked at Ju Jin Su. He couldn't see his face because of the mask covering it.
"Do you feel more comfortable now?" Ju Jin Su asked.
Officer Chad nodded his head. "Yes, I do." He answered. Then he looked at Ju Jin Su's familiar eyes. "Who are you really? Why are you doing this? You're not like Red, you're not a bad person." Officer Chad confusedly added.

"How sure are you that I'm not a bad person?"
"I don't know. I'm not sure but for some reason, I feel comfortable around you. It's as if I have known you before." Devius explained.
Ju Jin Su smiled under the mask he is wearing and shook his head. "You don't know me at all, Officer Chad."
"Maybe, I don't. What's your name?"
"Ju Jin Su. For now, that's the only thing I can tell you. Also, you're right, I'm not like Red but I am not as kind as you think, officer. I could be worst than him because he has all the reason to do this while my only reason is him." He said in a long litany.
"What do you mean? What is Red's motive? What is the reason behind all his actions? Why is he doing this? What did Cai do to him?" Devius asked again.
Ju Jin Su sighed. "You will know when the time comes. Also, you don't have to worry because he will never hurt you." He said.
Officer Chad doesn't know if he could believe those words from Ju Jin Su. He sees Red as a villain but for some reason, every time Red was around him, he doesn't feel too much danger. He felt like Red wouldn't hurt him because if he really wanted to, he would have used the officer's blood to trick Detective Lee instead of wounding himself.
Devius now felt even more confused. There are so many things running inside his mind. Too many questions popping out but instead of answers, he's getting more and more questions. He stared at the man in a mask in front of him. Officer Chad found everything in him so familiar. His voice, even though it changed a bit because of the mask, he could still feel it was familiar. The features of his body is also familiar. He knows he knew this guy or he must have seen or met him before but he just couldn't remember.
"Let me tell you this, officer. He isn't as bad as you think. In every villain, there's a hidden story behind. No one was born to be a villain. He isn't an exemption." Ju Jin Su stated. He stood up and Devius confusedly followed him with his eyes. "You may see him as a villain or someone that is evil but for me, he's nothing but a lost child, looking for a way to come back to his comfort. He just wanted to find his way back. For me he was just trapped, trying to escape." He added.

"But in order to escape and come back, does he have to do it? Does he have to hurt anyone? Does he have to kill? That's unreasonable." Officer Chad uttered.
"He never kill without valid reason, officer."
"Valid reason? Is there any valid reason acceptable for taking somebody's life?"
Ju Jin Su turned to him and chuckled. "If you haven't been in his situation, you will really say it's not enough but once you found out the story behind, I don't think you will still have the guts to tell him that it isn't reasonable."
"No matter what it is, taking other people's lives isn't something that he should be doing." Officer Chad lectured.
"But is he still taking lives? After killing Lee Jin Hong, did he ever killed anyone again? He threatened you but did he ever hurt you? And how sure are you that he really killed those people, officer? How sure are you that he is the killer caller?" Ju Jin Su asked, Officer Chad went silent for a bit to think.
Ju Jin Su has a point. They have been investigating and they never got any evidence that it was Red who killed the other victims. Even if Ju Jin Su unknowingly admitted that Red killed Lee Jin Hong, they don't have any other proof that Red was the killer caller.
He shook his head. "As far as I know, he haven't taken anyone's life after him. Also, you're right. We don't have any proof that Red is behind all those killings but still, you admitted that he killed the last victim. He might or might not be the killer caller but he still took someone's life." He responded.
"Right. And that kid from your apartment, do you think he really escaped? No, he couldn't."
"What do you mean? Are you talking about Michael?" Officer Chad asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
Ju Jin Su nodded. "A kid couldn't escape that easily. He purposely let him go because he was just a kid."
"So, we're right. He abducted Michael." Devius muttered.
Jin Su shook his head. "He didn't. They just accidentally bumped into each other. He never meant to harm the kid. He saved him."
"Saved him? He saved Michael that's why he was traumatized and couldn't even talk to anyone without getting scared? Also, why would he kill Michael's mother? Was it because they were living in the same place with us?" Officer Chad asked again.
Ju Jin Su gave out a laugh and place both his hands inside his pocket. He walked towards Devius and stopped in front of him, the officer just looked at him. He stood there for a while before speaking again.
"Officer Chad, I know you're a great policeman. You are one of the best ones to be honest but hearing you now makes me laugh. I thought you are highly trained but your observation skills were very bad." Ju Jin Su shook his head as he took a step away from Devius.
"What do you mean? Can't you just go straight to your point and stop beating around the bush?"
"That kid, he was abducted and that so-called mother wasn't his real mom. Michael wasn't a poor kid, that mother you're talking about was his nanny. She abducted the kid and Red only went there to save him." Devius' eyes widen after hearing those words from Ju Jin Su.
"W-What do you mean?"
"That kid, you talked to him and gave him your number, didn't you?" He asked back.
Officer Chad was confused. "How did you know that?"
"Red told me because he has been following you and Detective Lee before he saw that kid. Luckily, you used a red pen which caught his attention but he noticed something is weird about the kid and his mother." Ju Jin Su sat back on the chair.
Officer Chad shook his head. "I still don't understand. I don't understand anything at all."
Jin Su went silent for a while and then he stared directly at the officer's eyes. "You, giving your number to that child and saying that you are a police officer put that kid's life in danger, so when Red saw that coming, he ended the kid's suffering by ending the abductor's life." He narrated.
"What?"
"You could have killed that kid without knowing it, officer. Red came and saved the child on time. He didn't see his abductor die because Red wouldn't let that happen. You found him near the park because Red took him there while he was doing his move."
Officer Devius Chad was left dumbfounded. He felt like he just found out one of the biggest mistake he had done his entire life. He was a highly trained police officer, he is good at almost everything especially when it comes to observation. He doesn't know why he never noticed anything odd that night. He couldn't say anything as guilt slowly filled his system.
