《My Mate is a Crazy Cat Lady {Namjoonxreader}》Chapter 3: Territorial

🐈🐈🐈
What...the hell. Is it too late to give this demon back to Namjoon?
This thought was on repeat as the kitten terrorized the other cats and the rest of the house. So far we had three broken lamps, the curtains in the living room were now on the floor. Every single picture sitting on the mantle had been swatted off and glass littered the ground. Then it decided to go scratch in the litter box for a good five minutes before exiting and promptly taking a dump right next to it.
That was only twenty minutes in.
My sweet Tabby, Madam SparklePuss decided right THEN to come down out of the window to greet her new sibling.
It did not go well.
That was when the laundry room turned into a ufc ring for cats. I desperately tried to save Madam SparklePuss but Eun-ji held me back, staring at me incredulously. "ARE YOU CRAZY?" She yelled in order to be heard over the screaming cats. "YOU'LL DIE IF YOU GO IN THERE!"
"I DON'T CARE! That's my child!" I screamed dramatically, wrenching from her grasp and running to save Madam SparklePuss. Before I reached them Voldemort got there first, standing in front of his sister as he stared down Satan incarnate. Strangely, the kitten sniffed in his direction, they bumped noses, and then walked off together.
And her reign of terror was over. For now.
🐈🐈🐈
Y/n seemed just as cold and distant as ever the next day at school and my pride was a bit hurt at that. Not even a glance spared in my direction. I had thought for sure the kitten plan would work. It certainly seemed to be her weakness. Her entire demeanor had done a complete one eighty the second she'd set her eyes on the kitten. It was the first time I had ever seen her smile and I could practically feel the wolf part of me wagging it's tail at the sight. I feel myself smiling stupidly as I remember the look of pure happiness on her face at that moment. I made her smile like that. Me.
"Hyung, you're so embarrassing." I hear Jimin say to me, not for the first time.
If I was acting like a love struck puppy it's because I felt like one. He'd understand eventually. They all would. There were six pack mates that I was closer to than the rest, probably because we were all so close together in age. Jin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin,Taehyung, and Jungkook. And like normal friends they'd taken great joy in teasing me since I'd recognized Y/n as my mate, probably because they'd never seen me so shy around a girl and because I've never had so much trouble solving a problem before. I was supposed to be the smart one but I always felt so confused when it came to her. And like normal friends they all seemed to enjoy my suffering.

"Hyung, look! Y/n's hugging another man!" At Taehyung's words I whip my head around so fast my neck cracked, but of course Y/n was no where in sight. If I'd actually stopped to let his words sink in I would have known she wasn't nearby as I couldn't even smell her. But since I haven't marked her or even touched her yet I was feeling extra territorial.
With murderous intent I rounded on Taehyung but he was already halfway down the hall, giggling with Jimin and Jungkook in tow. I turned back with a sigh to find Yoongi-hyung smirking.
"Loser." He muttered before casually strolling off towards his own class.
Like he's one to talk.
Just you wait. I kept thinking vindictively, barely hearing Hoseok and Jin-hyung's words of comfort. Once lunch time rolled around again I separated from the group as I'd done yesterday and headed to the courtyard.
There she was. Feeling more relaxed now that I could see her, I took a deep breath and allowed her scent to wash over me. But almost immediately my nose scrunched up. Male. I could see them, her two friends. The younger male and female she was always with, or so it seemed. Usually during lunch she would read while the other two sat off to the side and spoke to each other in sickeningly sweet voices, accompanied by the occasional pecks to the other's cheeks. Today, however, she sat between them, still with her nose in a book but everything about her expression and the way she held her body spoke of tension.
I felt my own body tense at the sight, my wolf urging me to find out what was wrong and to fix it. If my mate was unhappy, I was unhappy. Hopefully without seeming too desperate I made my way over. Drawing closer, the first thing I notice is that there is complete silence among the three. Y/n's eyes are trained on the book in her hands but now that I'm closer I see her eyes aren't moving to indicate that she's reading. The girl on her right hand side is pointedly ignoring the other two, while the boy on her left is quietly picking at his own lunch, sending occasional glances towards the girl whose back is turned to him.
But why the hell was he sitting so close to Y/n? This intense jealousy was all new to me before but something I'd become used to dealing with in the past month. So far the boy close to her never posed a 'threat' to me because he'd proven to only have eyes for Y/n's friend. That didn't mean that his presence didn't bother me, but it did bring me a bit of comfort. But if I'm judging this situation correctly...did they break up?
"Namjoon-shi?" Y/n's friend asks. My heart picks up when Y/n's eyes shoot up to meet mine. I bow awkwardly.

"Hello—uh?"
"My name is Eun-ji." she offers me a smile that I can sense is a little forced. "That's In-guk. He's here because even though we broke up, he's still friends with Y/n." Now her smile definitely seems forced and she continues through ground teeth, "awkward, right?"
Y/n shifts uncomfortably and In-guk shoves half a sandwich in his mouth and proceeds to chew loudly. I blink a few times and nod, not eager to get on Eun-ji's bad side. Quickly I move my eyes back to Y/n who blinks cutely up at me.
Momentarily I forget what I came over for and I feel my cheeks heating up again. "I came to ask about the kitten," I spoke before I could lose my nerve, "how did she adjust to a new home?"
Y/n had just opened her mouth to respond when In-guk spit the food out of his mouth and turned to her. Ignoring the look of disgust she sent his way he gaped at her. "You got another cat?"
"Shut-up In-guk; I don't have enough cats."
"Y/N, YOU HAVE TWELVE CATS."
Her eyes rolled. "I have five, that's hardly twelve."
In-guk scoffed. "Oh, so the neighborhood strays you feed don't count?"
They continue bickering back and forth as I listen with interest. That is, until I notice how every time In-guk moves even slightly his upper arm brushes against Y/n's arm. Clenching my jaw, I struggle to taper down on this unprecedented rage.
"Why don't you come visit the-uh-sweet kitty after school, Namjoon-ssi?" Eun-ji interrupts their argument to ask me. The moment she does, both Y/n and In-guk jerk their heads in her direction and ask in unison, "WHAT?"
Eagerly I agree before Y/n could reject the idea. "I'd love to." I give my best smile, not missing In-guk's sour expression as he eyes me.
"Are you a cat person, Namjohn?" he asks suddenly.
I feel one of my eyes tick in annoyance but I keep my smile up as I turn to regard him. "It's Namjoon-hyung. And of course I do. I don't trust anyone who doesn't like cats." I feel a rush of victory when I notice Y/n smile.
In-guk scoffs. "Whatever." he stands up with his lunch. "See you later." He gently touches a hand to Y/n's shoulder.
Before I could help it a growl rips from my throat which I just barely manage to cover up with a coughing fit. All three humans in front of me stare. After a moment Eun-ji wordlessly hands me a bottle of water. I take it from her and struggle not to use it as a weapon to beat In-guk to death with. Too much? Probably.
After swallowing the water down I excuse myself and force my legs to walk away from them before my dreams of harming the human boy become a reality.
🐈🐈🐈
I eyed Namjoon's back as he all but runs out of the courtyard. What a weird person. Did he have some kind of throat infection or something? As I think of this I remember what just happened and I turn to Eun-ji with a glare. "Yah! Why did you invite him to my house?"
She smiled smugly. "To make In-guk jealous." She giggled, watching her ex walking the opposite direction that Namjoon had left. "Didn't you see how mad he got when Namjoon smiled at me?"
I scowl at her distastefully. "And he said he was the immature one." From where I was sitting they were both acting absurd. Eun-ji with her petty revenge and In-guk's display of possessiveness. This is exactly why I want nothing to do with relationships. Love makes people turn stupid. In a rush of anger I reach over and pinch Eun-ji's arm to wipe that stupid grin off her face. "Disinvite him."
She returns my glare while holding the now red mark on her arm. "No. How about not being such a bitch for once and let him come see the cat."
I rub the heel of my hand to the headache I feel forming behind my eye. "It's not the cat he wants to see, Eun-ji, and you know it."
"So?" she questions as if she doesn't know about my reasons. "It's ok, Y/n," her voice abruptly becomes soft, her eyes searching. "It's ok to move on. Not everyone is going to be like-"
"Stop." my voice came out low, but threatening and she wisely obliged and dropped the subject.
"Fine." She spoke up again after a moment. "But it can't hurt to have him as a friend."
Maybe she was right. Then again maybe I don't care. The only thing annoying about Namjoon at this point had been his staring but that didn't mean I thought he wouldn't be just like every other person. That being annoying or unlikable in some way or another. I think this is just my lot in life. To be easily annoyed. To hate people easily. To be a bitch.
"Whatever." I grudgingly respond this way even though I have no intention of making him my friend. I'm not naive. It isn't friendship he wants and I know he won't want to stop there. "But you have to be there too, otherwise it'd be weird."
"Oh sorry I forgot," Eun-ji says, and it's obvious by her tone that she isn't sorry in the least and didn't forget a damn thing. "I have to work." she smiles unapologetically.
"You bitch."

STEM: The Topical Dungeon
Inspired by CORE: The Volcanic Dungeon by Ace Arriande and a spiritual successor to my writing prompt series Evolution Barricade, STEM is a series following the reincarnation of Kaden into the fantasy world of Brogdar. Reborn as a "DM" and a plant, Kaden tackles the challenges of being the agent of the chaotic god: trying to be his very own dungeon master. However, unlike other stories, Kaden is often making fun of and dealing with disadvantages that the normal reincarnated hero would never have to worry about. A parody of the normal tropes of isekai, STEM is a periodic series that is intended to release a minimum of once per week. There may be times where there is more than one drop, but those would be special occasions. Additionally, the content tags are simply to try and ensure my readers know these stories can encompass a large variety of things. They may not immediately be in focus, but they will all end up appearing!

Universal Strength: Power is Everything **Indefinite Hiatus**
Power is a thing that many people greatly yearn. Those with power yearn more power and those without power yearn for it. There isn't anyone born with power that they can call their own. Power is either earned or given and in reality it doesn't matter which is better, power is power and power is everything. This is another story that has been going around in my head and I just had to let it out. I think I did a decent synopsis on this one lol. I will not be dropping my other two stories and I will be releasing one chapter of this a week as well. Chapter release is honestly whenever I can. (Warning! Story is partially wish fulfillment.) The cover art used is from Google Images and will be changed when I create one or have one created for me.

Saga of the Storm Wizard
Rose Cooper had always been told she has a lot of potential as a wizard cadet. Too much, in fact; her weather magic frequently ran wild when her emotions got the better of her. That was why the mission to uncover a lost magical artifact in the Spratly Islands was perfect for her. They were no man's land, abandoned by both the demonic Grim Horde and the human Anti-Demonic League. All Rose would have to do to do was keep the weather under control. All of that talk of the Spratly Curse was just superstition and nonsense spread by bored sailors. If only. Evil wore many masks, as Rose was about to discover. Warning: This story contains elements that some readers may find disturbing, and minor language. Think of it as a PG-13 rating. This series is a spinoff of the Confessions of the Magpie Wizard series. As such, it contains spoilers for the main series. I have attempted to write it so that you could start here without reading the original story.
