《And You became my Dawn》Chapter# 19

Ahmed's POV:

Stepping into my office I took off my tie and cuffs. Going into a suit on-site was a big mistake. Even after taking off my coat, it felt like I am going to melt at any second. I never liked summer, you have to be so careful about dressing specifically when you have outdoor work. I walked into the bathroom take off my shirt and washed my face. While constructing this building I especially designed this washroom with a wardrobe which I recently filled with some clothes.

Taking out a cream colour shirt I wore it and fold up its sleeves. Feeling much fresh I directly went to the kitchen to make coffee, walking back to the office I took a sip of it and made a sour face.

Sandal where are you, when I need your coffee...

I sighed looking at her office door and walked inside without thinking. My steps paused immediately when I found Sandal in her office. She was sitting in her seat with her head on the table.

What is she doing here at this hour???

Frowning, I cleared my throat loudly to make my presence known, but when she didn't move. Then I walked to the table and forcefully put the coffee cup on it, so she could wake up from the sound.

Still, no movement...

I called her name several times but no response.

Don't tell me she is really sleeping...

I patted her head first, but she didn't move. Then by holding her from shoulders, I raised her head but it fell on the desk again with a 'thud' sound.

"No way! Not again..." I mumbled and quickly check her pulse.

Her pulse was normal and her breathing too. I scooped her from the seat and lay her down on the sofa in my office. Looking at her worriedly I took out my phone to call Zohma... No!... This is not the best idea, if I call her, she will definitely ask me questions. She was so overprotective of her. But if I didn't call her...

No! Telling her is the right thing...

I called Zohma and told her the whole situation. Ending the call I walked back to Sandal desk to take the coffee cup. At that moment my eyes landed on the computer screen and I sat down to read the opened mail.

A frown formed on my forehead after reading it.

Will she go back???

I closed the emails but before logging out, I did a thing that might call a violation of privacy. I copied her all contacts and send them to my ID.

Shutting down the PC, I took out my phone and call Zohma again, to bring a doctor with her. I went back where Sandal was and kneel down to take a closer look at her face. It was pale yellow now, the pinkish blush from yesterday was nowhere to be seen. Slowly I took off her glasses and put them near her head.

"I will not allow you to leave me, Sandal...." Whispering those words to her I got up.

"Is this the first time she collapsed like this?" The doctor asked after Sandal's checkup. I am glad that Zohma didn't bring our family doctor.

"No, it happened before." Zohma answered.

"How many times?"

"Once in a month maybe. Actually... it all started at the death of her three family members in December. But it is getting more frequent this month." Zohma said and I looked at her frowning. She never spoke of it.

"Is she on medication?"

"No! She refuses to take any."

The doctor didn't say anything, he wrote down the prescription and handed it over to Zohma.

"It will be better if you consult a psychiatric too."

"What for?" I spoke for the first time.

"You are her...?"

"Her fiancé, Ahmed." Zohma head snapped towards me, as I lied.

"Well! Mr Ahmed, some people hide their emotions. Pleasant or painful, to them, it's a weakness. Some people don't have anyone to share or some incidents are too painful for a person to share... so they kept moving on ignoring the fact that they are hurt.... this is a red alert. It can be the most dangerous... Keep hiding and pretending to be alright might lead a person to a mental breakdown."

I heard everything that the doctor said but my eyes were fixed on the wall behind him, staring into space. Thinking something in the back of my mind.

"Mr Ahmed I'll advise you to talk to her first before starting her treatment. She should know that she needs help...if she doesn't agree then don't force her and give her some rest. I'll be going now. Allah Hafiz."

"Thank you, doctor Allah Hafiz." I shook hands with him and he left.

"Zohma, tell Sandal's sister about her situation and we will drop her home her condition become a little stable." I said to Zohma walking back to my desk.

"Bhai tell me something first. Why did you lie to the doctor?"

"About what?"

"About you being her fiancé."

"Than what should I have said?... Am I her boss? And being overly nice to my assistant? Or pitying her because of her tragedy?... is this sound better?" I asked looking into her eyes.

"But what makes you think to call your assistant as your fiancée is better?" She asked back raising her eyes brow.

"I don't mind being called her fiancé." I shrugged and leaned back in my seat.

"It's not about calling or not Bhai. It will cause a huge misunderstanding." She started to lose her temper.

"Then I will make sure, not to cause any misunderstandings." I answered calmly.

"And how would you do it?"

" I am planning to marry her."

"Huh?" Her jaw left ajar and I rolled my eyes.

"Bhai?... do you know what are you saying?"

"Yes!"

"You sure?"

" Zohma. I know very well what I am saying." I answered grinding my teeth.

Why it is so hard for her to believe???

"But Bhai"

"No more talk for now Zohma. You should go to Sandal." I ended the conversation by raising my hand in the air.

"Bhai Areeba says that we should send her home right now. Her mother won't be convinced easily." I looked up from my laptop as Zohma enters Sandal's office, it didn't seem proper to stay there.

"Very well! Try to wake Sandal up. Let me know if she can walk."

"She is awake and I think she can walk too."

I nodded, closing my laptop. Walking into my office, I took my car keys and gave Sandal a brief look, I mentioned them to come.

The car ride was silent, Zohma and Sandal sitting in back seats while I was in the driver seat. Driving and glancing both now and then. Zohma was in deep thought and Sandal eyes were closed, as her head rested on Zohma's shoulder. When the car comes to a halt she opened her eyes.

"Sorry for the trouble I caused you again." She apologized in her weak voice.

"Shut up Sandal before I do something that makes me says sorry to you." Zohma threatened her and she gave her a weak smile.

"Should I walk you home?" Zohma asked but she shook her head in negative. Which made me roll my eyes. She doesn't ask for help, even in need.

"Allah Hafiz." She said and step out of the car.

"Allah Hafiz." Zohma and I both say in unison.

Laying on my comfy bed in my comfy night suit, I was hearing my dear sister's nagging. She was still bothering me about what I had said earlier.

"Go away Zohma, I wanted to sleep."

"Just make it clear, are you serious about marrying Sandal? And I'll leave."

"I am serious in everything related to Sandal."

"Do you like her?"

"I wouldn't be saying this if I don't."

"But Bhai, you know how long your liking can stay.... and don't forget your liking of a person is different from others-"

"Listen Zohma! I am twenty-nine years old not nineteen. I know what I want and I know whom to make a part of my life... the only thing I don't know is how people take this stuff. they may call it liking, love, selfishness or whatever. But if I can imagine my life with someone, I will definitely not let her stay away from me for long... that's all I can tell you. No further questions ... Shaba Khair." I say quite rudely. She silently got up and left.

I think I just lose my best advisor ...

But instead of going after her, I sighed to lay down to rest a little. I know I can easily patch up with her later but now I really need sleep as my headache already has gotten worse.

I was thinking too much lately, especially today. First I get to know about the invitation from school and then, I was informed that she will be a mental breakdown if she didn't recover from her past.

Both things are making me worried. If she wants to go back, I know I will stop her from leaving, one way or another. But it doesn't mean that she will agree to marry me.

She never clings to me like other stupid girls... No flattery, no flirting... hell, she doesn't even talk to me much, nor even smile once. Still, she became that special person whom I really wanted to cherish...Someone who sneaks into the darkest part of my heart and candled a gentle light there... warm and gentle light, that put my restlessness at ease...

She might don't know, how essential she becomes to me...I can't let her go now. When I found that person whom I want to spend my life with.

I will never let you go...

Sandal's POV:

I felt peaceful putting my head on Ami's lap, as she creases her soft fingers in my hair. Areeba covered for me again. She told Ami that a big box of files fall on me when I was taking out things from the cupboard and lost consciousness. Ami believed this story and her anger melt away.

I slowly closed my eyes and open it the next moment, realizing that Sir Ahmed can be the one who lay down me on the sofa.

Of course, he was the one... it's impossible for Zohma ...

My mind snapped at me.

"Ya Allah ..." I cried feeling pathetic and embarrassed. Biting my lower lip and squeezing my eyes shut I turned my head to another side.

"Beta, does your head still hurt?" Asked Ami's worried voice.

"No Ami, I am fine." I held her hand and place a kiss on it.

That's right, I am fine. As long as I have Ami and my sisters by my side I am fine. I close my eyes and let sleep take over me.
