《The Monster Inside ➺ Scott. M》Chapter 35

Astrid stared at Scott's dead body with tears in her eyes. Her friends stepping away from Klaus in fear, tears blurring their vision.
Astrid's expression changed from sadness to anger and hatred as she glared at her older brother. "What have you done!" She shouted, making him flinch. She was never this mad at him.
She walked towards his body and picked him up. "He had my blood in his system, Niklaus." She added, staring into Klus' eyes. "And we don't have the Doppelwhore's blood!" She yelled. She began walking away from her brother but stopped. "I hate you..." She muttered.
"Sister... I'm.. so-"
"Sorry won't do it this time, Niklaus!" She yelled "Do you enjoy watching me suffer?! Or do you just not love me like you always say you do?" She asked, tears streaming down her cheeks as she left the room, her friends following her.
She walked into the livingroom and layed Scott on the couch, his friends sitting on a different sofa next to him.
"He will wake up, right?" Lydia asked.
"Yeah..." Astrid told her. She left the room and walked into the kitchen, taking out a blood bag. She poured the blood in a cup and walked back into the livingroom. She placed the cup on the table and looked at her friends. "When he wakes up... tell him that he has a choice. If he drinks this blood, he'll probably become a vampire. If not then he'll die in 24 hours." She told them and left the living room, not wanting to tell them the truth that normal human blood might not work.
"Astrid" Nik muttered with tears in his eyes as he hugged his sister tightly. "I am so sorry" his tears soaked her shirt as he spoke.
"Nik..." She hugged him back.
"Please forgive me. You're all I have left" he cupped her cheeks as he spoke.
She closed her eyes as tears rolled down her cheeks. "Okay..." She said quietly, in almost a whisper. "I... forgive you, brother" she spoke, not looking into his eyes. She pulled away from Niklaus and walked away.

Astrid walked into a bar with Niklaus. They sat in front of Marcel who was drinking some alcohol.
"Well, this is a far cry from Last night's party." Niklaus said.
"Hey, Marcel" Astrid sent him a sad smile, still thinking about Scott. She took one of his shots and drank it herself.
"Astrid. Haven't seen you in a while." He smiled widely. "You look as beautiful as ever." Astrid smiled sarcastically.
"I'm not in the mood Marcel. Niklaus just killed my boyfriend... who had my blood in his system might I add." She sighed loudly.
"That's unfortunate." Marcel stated.
"Ahh. In pursuit of the bartender from Rousseu's, I see." Niklaus said. Astrid turned around and looked at the blonde girl who was sat in the corner of the room, reading books.
"I see you still have a thing for Blondes" Astrid smirked. "Can't get over Rebekah?"
"She's a work in progress" Marcel said, drinking another shot.
"And yet here you are, pining over her when you should be eating her for lunch. Well, she must be special." Niklaus told his friend.
"Business first. The coroner called. He's got my number in case any dead tourists show up." Marcel told Niklaus.
"Let me guess. Dead tourists with a stamp on their hand and vampire blood in their veins."
"It happens. Someone takes a drunken tumble off a balcony or into the Mississipi, and today, I got two of them to deal with." Marcel said, the blonde girl was about to leave but Nik stopped her.

"Excuse me, love." Nik stood up and walked towards the girl. "What's that you're studying?"
"Abnormal psychology." The girl replied.
"Abnormal psychology. Well... perhaps you could help me diagnose my friend over here." Niklaus pointed at Marcel and sat back down next to Astrid. "He's been a little bit depressed. Can't keep his mind off a girl. He tells me she's a queen. Fit for a king. I think he should cut his losses and move on. What's your professional opinion?"
"Be a nice guy, and maybe the opportunity will present itself one day." She raised her eyebrows. "You two are a cute couple by the way" she told Niklaus and Astrid as she walked away.
"Ew." Astrid muttered, making Marcel laugh.
"How about tonight, 9:00?" Marcel asked the blonde before she left. "I'll meet you right here."
"I'll take it under consideration." She stated. Astrid stood up and looked at the girl.
"This is my brother by the way... we're not... together" she told her and the girls eyes opened wider.
"Sorry." The blonde chuckled before leaving the bar.
Astrid sat back down and sighed. "Hmm.. harsh" Marcel said, watching the girl walk past the bar.
"I daresay I've lost my touch, or you've lost yours." Niklaus chuckled. The two men looked at Astrid when her phone began ringing.
She looked at her phone, it was Lydia. "What's wrong?" Astrid asked with concern in her voice.
"He woke up." Lydia told Astrid.
"Lydia. The cup on the table has blood in it. Tell Scott that he has about 24 hours to decide whether to drink it or not. It he wants to live then he should drink it. I can help him control the hunger." Astrid told the strawberry blonde.
"Alright" Lydia answered.
"I'll be back soon, love" she told her as she ended the call.
"So... are you friends humans?" Marcel asked.
"Not really. There's a human, banshee, kitsune, werecoyote and werewolf." She smiled.
"Werewolves are not allowed in the quarter..." Marcel stated.
"He's a different species." She smiled. "And if you or any other vampire try hurting him or any of my friends... I'll kill you and I don't care if it will break Klaus' heart. He broke mine on multiple occasions." She said as she stood up, leaving the bar.

Astrid sped into the living room where she found Scott, Lydia, Malia, Stiles, kira and surprisingly Rebekah.
"You're boyfriend's awake, sister" Rebekah said, sitting next to Scott.
"I can see that, Bekah." Astrid told her sister as she sat between her and Scott. "How are you feeling, darling?" Astrid asked Scott, looking at the cup full of blood.
"I-I don't know what to do." Scott admitted. "If I decide to turn... I might kill people. But if I don't, then... I'll die without saying goodbye to my mom and--"
"Shh..." Astrid hugged the boy who sobbed quietly. "If you decide to complete the transition, I promise I will teach you how to control your hunger. You're strong-willed. You haven't killed anyone when you turned into a werewolf. I'll make sure it stays that way when you turn into a vampire." She promised him.
"Don't you need Elena's blood to make Hybrids?" Rebekah asked. "Won't he just die?"
Astrid glared at her sister. "If they're the same species as me then yes. But he's not. And the doppelbitch is a vampire so we can't ask for her blood."

"So this might not even work?" Stiles questioned.
"Thank you Rebekah for sharing your pessimistic attitude." She smiled sarcastically at her sister. "There's a 50/50 chance" she answered Stiles' question. She turned to Scott who had a scared expression. "Scotty... it's worth a try" she told the boy as she picked up the cup and handed it to him.
"If this doesn't work... tell my mom I love her and that I'm sorry" Scott told his friends who nodded. He raised the cup towards his lips and drank the blood.
"How do you feel?" Astrid asked the boy who licked his lips.
"Good..." he said surprised.
She looked at his eyes, checking if they're not starting to bleed. She smiled widely "it worked." She exclaimed as she hugged the true alpha. He hugged her back, sniffling.
"Right... I gotta go." Rebekah said as she vamp sped out of the room.

The group of friends ran outside when they heard shouting. They saw Hayley and Rebakah standing next to each other while Nik stood in front of a pile of Vampire bodies.
"What the..." kira said with wide eyes.
"This is why I told you never to leave the house." Niklaus said, pointing at Hayley. "Werewolves are banned in the Quarter. I had a plan and your little night time stroll put it all in peril." Rebekah was walking towards Nik when she saw one of the vampires move and groan. "Leave him!" Niklaus shouted at his sister.
"What the hell is going on!" Astrid yelled.
"Those vampires tried killing Hayley... so I killed them. It's no way to treat a pregnant lady" Rebekah answered.
"That's just bad manners." Astrid replied. "Although I do agree with Nik. You shouldn't have left the house." Astrid told Hayley.
"So you just kill people you don't like?" Stiles questioned.
"Well... yeah" Rebekah replied.
"I mean... They were going to kill Hayley. It was either them or the woman who has my niece in her womb. Mikaelsons protect their family..." Astrid smiled sweetly at Hayley.
"You've done enough, don't you think?" Nik asked Rebekah. "Leaving a trail of bodies like a roadmap to my door?"
"If I haven't overheard this lot bragging about werewolf heads, everyone here would be screwed, and don't give me that crap about having a plan. You've had all the time in the world to execute a plan, and no one's seen you do a damn thing!" Rebekah argued. "Elijah made a deal to protect your child so that he could save you from your selfish, rotten self. You obviously don't give a damn about the child or Elijah because what have you done to honour it?"
"I have done everything." Niklaus replied.
"I feel uncomfortable. This is family drama" kira muttered.
"Let me spell it out for you, shall I?" Niklaus said, ignoring Kira. "From the day I arrived, Marcel hasn't trusted me. From day one, he's had his vampires ingest toxic vervain, which as you know, little sister, protects them from my mind control. I needed a spy, someone on the inside with me who Marcel would never suspect, so I created a day zero and got there first. Marcel had just lost 6 vampires thanks to your little murder spree, and he needed new recruits, so I made the new one mine before he even had a drop of vervain. But we all know the real way to a man is through his heart, so... I compelled a girl he likes to go on a date with him and tell me everything he does. And this one," he pointed to the vampire which was still alive "I'm gonna drain him of vervain," he grabbed the vampire and dragged him while he walked. "Compel him to believe his mates found religion and moved to Utah" he said, walking towards the mansion where Astrid's and her friends stood in front of the entrance. "So that he can explain to Marcel why he lost 3 more vampires tonight."
Niklaus walked past the group of friends and opened the door. "Don't get his blood on the carpet, brother." Astrid told Niklaus as he dragged the body inside, Rebakh and Hayley following him. "Why did I think it was a good idea to come to New Orleans with you guys..." She sighed and walked inside, her friends following her.
When they walked inside, they saw the vampire laying on the carpet, his blood smudging on the white material. "Seriously?" Astrid said, staring at the carpet.
"Does anyone have any more questions?" Niklaus asked everyone in the room.
"I do... do you have to be such a drama queen, brother?" Astrid asked with a smirk, her brother glared at her with a clenched jaw.
"Sister, I'm not in a mood for jokes." He told Astrid. "Any more questions?" Nik asked and everyone remained quiet. "No? Good. Because I have a question, Hayley. What were you doing in the bloody French Quarter in the first place?" She didn't reply. "Answer me!" Niklaus yelled, making everyone flinch.
"Leave her be" Rebekah said quietly. As Hayley walked towards Nik.
"You want to know what I was doing?" Hayley asked. "I was buying poison so I could put your little baby out if it's misery."
Niklaus vamp sped towards a wall, holding Hayley by the neck. Malia was about to walk towards him but Astrid grabbed her arm tightly as she shook her head.
"Nik!" Rebekah shouted as Hayley gagged.
"Niklaus stop it!" Astrid yelled, making Nik let go of the pregnant werewolf.
"Keep your hands off her, She is pregnant for God's sake." Rebekah shouted at him as she shoved him against a wall. "All of this bluster about not wanting the child, and then the second she tells you she's ready to get rid of it..." Niklaus looked at Hayley who had tears in her eyes. "It's okay to care... Even Astrid realised that. It's okay to want something. That's all Elijah was trying to do, all he's ever wanted for you, all we've ever wanted." Niklaus sat down on the stairs.
Astrid sat next to him and Hugged him tightly. Rebekah also sat next to Nik. Nik pulled away from the hug and looked at the floor. "I gave Elijah to Marcel" Nik admitted.
"What?" Rebekah said with a sad expression.
"Marcel was nervous. It was bad enough that one original returned to town, but two?" Niklaus explained. "His crew was getting antsy. He wanted Elijah gone, so I gave him a peace offering."
"You barted our brother." Rebekah said, looking Niklaus straight in the eyes.
"I have a plan" he reminded Rebekah. "Gain Marcel's trust, dismantle his empire, honour Elijah's wish that the baby be born. I am executing that plan the only way I know how. If you don't like it, there's the door. See if I care" he said as he stood up and walked away.
"I'll- umm.. I'll show you guys your rooms. We still didn't unpack" Astrid said, walking outside towards the car, the pack following her.
"Astrid..." Scott said quietly when they reached the car.
"You don't have to stay but... I have to help my family" she turned around as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"We'll stay." Scott told her. "We'll help you, okay?" Scott said as he hugged her.
"You don't know what you're getting yourself into. Yes, it's my fault because I took all of you here.... but we're bad people, Scott. You don't have to stay... I should've known that it's not safe for you to be here. " Astrid said after she pulled away from Scott.
"You're our friend, Astrid" Lydia said. "We've lost too many friends recently. We're not going to lose you, too"
➖➖➖
The next day, Astrid and the pack were sitting in the living room with Niklaus when Rebekah rushed in.
"You're right." Rebekah said "the girl Cami, she's the key. Marcellus likes her and because of that, I got to see the secret weapon of his that you've been talking about."
"Well, don't stand on ceremony" Niklaus said as he stood up. Scott was drinking some blood from a cup as he and the pack listened and watched Niklaus and Rebekah.
"What is it?" Astrid asked Rebekah.
"It's not a What. It's a who, a girl, Davina. She can't be more than 16, and I have never felt power like that."
"A witch" Niklaus muttered.
"She's not just any witch. She's something I've never seen before, something beyond powerful, and now because of you, she has Elijah. Who knows what she could do to him."
"Where is she?" Niklaus asked.
"That clever bitch. I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know?" Astrid asked.
"She wiped my memory of the location. Marcel possesses a weapon bigger and more powerful than an Original, and you handed our brother to him! How many times will Elijah forgive you? How long until his hope for your redemption finally dies?"
"Oh no..." Astrid said, making her siblings look at her. "If only you had a 1000 year old tribrid who practiced magic for centuries on your side..." Astrid sighed. "It will be hard to find someone like that, right? Or did you completely forget that I'm more powerful than any creature on this damned planet?" Astrid smirked at her siblings.
Rebekah and Nik smirked back. "Well, little wolf. It's time we become king and Queen of New Orleans again"
