《A Harry Potter Love Story: Gracie Style *Completed*》Chapter Five

I will have a smile on my face when I walk into that toad's classroom!
I pasted one on, walking in talking to Nat and Mione happily. Ron and Harry had to stay back to talk to Snape because they decided it would be fun to get in trouble. For what? Who knows! Ron through a tantrum because he wanted to sit by Harry. So I let him. What happens? They get in trouble!
Umbridge smirked at me, but when I smiled and waved, she turned that really ugly shade of purple again, it was really funny. Nat an I sat together with Mione on the other side of me. "So this class is a waste of time. Who wants to pass notes?" I smirked, knowing Umbridge could hear me.
"Ooh me! Me!" Nat raised her hand, jumping up and down in her seat like Mione used to do. I laughed, Mione giggled, but shook her head. Umbridge looked like she was going to have a fit. Oh I hope she does! My hand was throbbing this morning! An it did scar!
"Okay class. Turn to chapter two please!" She smiled sweetly, putting her hands together. Nat passed me a note, a smirk on her face.
'Her acting is nothing compared to yours!'
I laughed out loud, earning a few glances from my classmates. "Something you find funny Ms. Black?" Umbridge came to stand next to me, her eyes narrowed but smile in place. I smirked, nodding slowly. I heard the door open, but ignored it. "Oh then please share. What exactly is so funny?"
"How about your teaching methods? The fact that you think we'll be properly prepared for the O.W.L's by reading?" I smirked, folding my hands on top of the desk.
"Or her face!" Nat muttered, shaking her head. I giggled, trying to stifle my laughter. Umbridge glared at the two of us, her face redish purple.
"Detention! Both of you girls! Mr. Potter, Weasley! Do you have a reason for being late to my class?" She snapped, eyeing them distastefully.
"Sure do, Professor!" Harry handed her a note, smirking. She took it, read it, and muttered about them sitting down. I giggle again, watching Harry walk back to his seat. He winked at me on his way through, a smirk planted on his face. I was about halfway through that stupid chapter when I got another note.
'You have detention again?'
I scribbled a 'yes', sending it back. I bet it was Harry. It came back a minute later. Umbridge looked up, so I slid it under my book, pretending to read. One detention is fine, but if I have three in a row, I think I might just die. When she finally looked away, I slid it open.
'Don't go!' I rolled my eyes after I read it. I obviously have to go. Instead of replying to that, I when our first quidditch practice was. I heard Harry sigh, I looked out the corner of my eye and he was shaking his head, running a hand through his hair. 'Tomorrow'
I nodded, putting the note in my bag. I finished the chapter, wrote down the homework and turned to Natty. "So, quidditch tomorrow?"
"I can't wait!" She beamed, throwing her book on the floor. I raised an eyebrow, eyeing it. She shrugged, waving it off. "We will rule the pitch once again! Watch us be really rusty. I heard Oliver signed with some Pro Quidditch team! Alicia quit! That means Ginny can have a permanent spot! Katie, eh. Gin can take her any day!"

I laughed, holding up my hands. "Slow down! I heard about Oliver too. Gin can definitely take Katie! Not that Katie isn't great and all, but come on! Especially with all three of us on the pitch! Wait, what's Angelina playing? If Ginny, you, and I are all chasers?"
"She switched to keeper!" Nat rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Apparently that's the position she originally tried out for but they found out she was a brilliant chaser. So I hear anyway."
"Hm. Angelina Johnson, a keeper. Doesn't seem right. All well though, she's captain. I guess we'll see her play at practice!" I shrugged, standing up as the bell rang. "Hey Mione!"
"Yeah?"
"Er, can you make some more of that stuff for tonight?" I asked, running my hand through my hair awkwardly. She smiled, resting her hand on my shoulder gently. She nodded, then she and Nat walked ahead. I was confused as to why until Harry placed his arm around my waist, kissing my forehead. "I have to go!" I sighed, looking up at him.
"Fine." He grumbled, looking straight ahead. "But write with your left hand. If you come straight back to the common room maybe we can keep this one from scarring." He mumbled, looking at the words etched into my hand. I smiled, attempting to lighten the mood.
"Hey, now we have matching tattoos! Battle scars!" I giggled, nudging him with my elbow. He raised his eyebrows, shaking his head. But I see that smile! I see it! "So I was thinking, we talk to Dad tonight? Maybe?"
"Yeah. That's a good idea. We'll see what he thinks." Harry nodded, looking at me as we walked into transfiguration. He almost ran into a door.
"Watch out!" I squealed, pulling him side ways quickly. He clipped his shoulder though. Better than his face I suppose. He groaned, using his other arm to hold it.
"Thanks!" He smiled sheepishly, sitting beside me.
"Your welcome!" I giggled, putting my books onto the table. "So, no more sitting with Ron?" I teased, watching him scowl.
"No. I have detention too!" He rolled his eyes while I laughed, he shoved me playfully so I stuck my tongue out, laughing at him. He smiled, rolling his eyes at me.
"Mr. Potter, Ms. Black! This is not time to flirt!" Grandma McGonagall put her hands on her hips, staring at us with this stern look. I blushed while classmates snickered, especially Nat and Mione. This is one of the few classes where we mix years, not houses, meaning Ginny is in here. She was smirking at me, sitting with Nat. Mione was with Ron and they were all giving us this smug little look. I waited until Professor M turned around before I flipped them off. Well, I didn't really, I used the one beside your pinky. But still. The intention was clear. "Now, take out your wands please!"
I fist pumped, holding it tightly in my hand. She went on to tell us what we were going to be doing. This is easy stuff for the fifth years of the class, a starting point for the year, just to warm us up before we get started learning the hard stuff for the O.W.L's. We'll have a few classes with fourth years as a review, because anything could be on the exam.
I waved my wand happily, turning my beetle easily. Harry and Ron were obviously struggling, Ron's beetle kept getting away and Harry's just wouldn't hold still. "Here's a tip!" I whispered, leaning closer to him. "Petrificus Totalus!" I casted the spell at his beetle, then looked at him, crossing my arms with a smirk. He rolled his eyes, blushing a bit. He turned it easy enough.

"Very good Ms. Weasley!" Ginny beamed, poking what used to be her beetle. Awe! She was the first one in her year in this class to do it! How cute! "Tell me, how did you complete the assignment so quickly?" Ginny was right in front of me, Mione was beside her, and Nat was in front of her. It wasn't difficult to figure out why Grandma McGonagall was asking.
"I've watched Gracie, Mione, and Natty do their homework for years. You pick up some things." She shrugged, grabbing the next item on out list. I smiled proudly, grabbing my next item. Professor McGonagall let loose a teeny tiny smile, then walked away.
Classes ended soon enough and it was time for detention. Nat and I walked together, chatting easily. I figured that if she was going to have detention she should know what happens. She wasn't happy, she was eager to get into detention. Said she had a 'plan'. On the way there, we passed a first year, crying in a corner. I ran up to him, bending down beside him. "What happened? Are you okay?"
"I, I had d,det, detention!" He stuttered, wiping his eyes. His hand was shaking and he was using his other to try and control it. I wrapped an arm around his shoulders, smiling sympathetically.
"Hey, it's okay. So did I! Yesterday and that's where I'm headed now. See?" I showed him my hand and his eyes widened. "What house are you in?"
"Yours!"
"Oh, sorry. I don't pay much attention to the sorting. But congratulations! It's a great house! Now, go into the common room and ask for Hermione Granger. Tell her I sent you and show her your hand okay? She has a medicine that will help!" I smiled, ruffling his hair. He smiled, hugged me, then took off running down the hall.
"Lets go! We're going to be late!" Nat sighed, pulling me to my feet. We took off running as well, not really caring if we get caught. We got there just in time. She opened the door right as the clock chimed. She seemed disappointed we were on time. Why does that not surprise me?
"Take a seat!" I ignored her, going straight to my seat, the same one as yesterday. I picked up the quill, waiting expectantly. "I will not disrupt my class!" I gave her a curt nod, then started writing. It hurt more than yesterday. I forgot Harry's tip about writing with my left hand for the first hour. When I finally did switch, I already had the words etched over the last set. It was like they knew where to sit on my hand.
Out of no where, I got one of my headaches, I saw Voldemort. More I saw Bellatrix, I saw Voldemort's thoughts. I dropped from my chair, letting out whimpers of pain. I clutched at y head, laying on the floor. Umbridge looked absolutely horrified, she didn't have a clue as to what to do. "Gracie!" Nat screamed, jumping up.
"Sit down! You! Get up! Now!" Umbridge barked, still looking panicked.
"She can't you twit!" Nat got up running to the door and throwing it open. "Help! Help!" She screamed into the hall frantically. I let go of my head, trying to get up, but it didn't work. This time I actually let out a small scream, it sounded like I was calling Harry's name, but I really didn't mean too.
"What is going on here?" Snape appeared in the door, looking quite alarmed. Tears poured down my face as I looked at him. His eyes widened when he looks at me.
"We were sitting here doing our detentions and she just felt out of her chair holding her head! Can you help her?" Nat wailed, kneeling beside me. Ron appeared in the doorway, panting and out of breath.
"Not you too! Harry's having a fit as well!" He groaned, still panting.
"Harry!" I whimpered, attempting to sit up.
"Don't worry. Mione and Ginny are taking him to the hospital wing. Professor Snape, is there anything you can do?" Ron asked, looking at him. The pain in my head intensified and I felt like I was having a seizure. I started writhing around on the ground, I couldn't move or think. Someone picked me up, but I don't know who.
"Wait! They haven't finished their detention!"
"I think, this is more important!" That was the last thing I heard.
*******************************************
I have to be worlds most unlucky person. Yep. Well no. There is Harry. He was the one attacked as a baby. But he'll always have me. Always.
Where the bloody hell am I?
"Gracie?" Dad? What's he doing here? Oh crud! They called Daddy!
"Hi!" I smiled, but kept my eyes closed.
"Hello!" He chuckled, I felt the bed dip. Probably him. "Want to tell us what happened? Harry won't. Says he fine. But you wouldn't lie to me, would you?"
Well if Harry's not telling neither am I. "Want to know what's wrong? I'll tell you! Umbridge is world's suckiest teacher!" I grumbled, crossing my arms. I still had my eyes shut, but I could hear the people in the room. They chuckled, well, some of them. "Where's Uncle Moony? I know he's here somewhere!"
"Right here sweetheart!" He placed his hand on mine, but I winced, jerking it back. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"Fine then. You asked for me?"
"Yes! I am commanding you to retake the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher! Now! Pretty please?" I begged, using the puppy face. Except it wasn't as good cus I am refusing to open my eyes. Or I can't, but that doesn't matter for right now.
"Sorry kiddo. No can do!" He sighed, ruffling my hair.
"I'll tell you what's wrong!" I used that sing song voice, taunting them.
"You said nothing was wrong!" Mum said, I could almost feel the glare. It's giving me the willies. Yeesh.
"Pft. I was kidding!" I waved her off, crossing my arms afterwards. "I'm all good. I was just hoping he would try! You guys take stuff to seriously!"
"Gracelyn Paige, you're laying in the hospital wing!" Dad dead panned, making me wince. "And Harry is laying next to you! We're not twits!"
"Harry!" I sat up quickly, finally opening my eyes. My hands flew to them, covering them quickly. "Ouch. Okay. That burns. Oh crud!" I let go of my eyes, hopping off the bed. I threw on my robes, pulled on my shoes and ran through the doors. Ron, Nat, Ginny, and Mione blocked them glaring at me. "Move move move! I'm not going back to detention tomorrow because I didn't finish this one!" I hissed, shoving at all of them.
"Gracie! Back here! Now!" Mum commanded, I flinched, turning around to see her glaring. Harry looked torn between amused and angry.
"Your not going back there! Go ahead. I showed them mine. Nat showed hers. You're the only one who has had two detentions. Show them yours!" He said, motioning me over. I groaned, dropping my head back. I trudged over, hand extended. Dad took it first, his face paled and he showed Uncle Moony and Mum. Guess who Mum showed! Harry!
"What did she do to that quill?" He yelled, examining it closely. I furrowed my brow, peeking at it.
"It's the same as the other, isn't it?"
"No!" He shoved it towards me so I could see it. I moaned this time, clutching at it. That's gross. It's all red and festered and swollen and ugh. I'm not even going to continue. I muttered a crap, dropping my head into my hands.
"I'm going back! I'll write with my left hand! I'll make it really light, I won't press down on the quill, but imagine how much worse it will be if I have another detention tomorrow!" I sighed, running a hand through my hair. More specifically the left.
"No!" They chorused, shouting at me.
"Yes!" I answered, glaring at each of them. "I'm going. I'm going to get it over with. I'm going to be careful so I don't get another detention, and not a word to Dumbledore or any other professor! Understood?" I looked all of them in the eye, crossing my arms. They nodded, glaring at me. "Thank you and good day. Harry I'll be back soon!" He nodded, looking out the window.
I walked to the toad's office in silence. I knocked on the door, and when she answered, she was not happy. "Yes?"
"I'm sorry to disturb you Professor. I'm here to finish my detention!" I looked at my shoes, mumbling. "I'm sorry about earlier. I'm not sure what happened."
"Yes well. That won't be necessary. Thank you. Goodnight!" She closed the door, leaving me standing there. Well, that was easy. I shrugged, skipping back to the hospital wing. Everyone was gone but Harry. He was still staring out the window, his fist clenched.
"Hey." I whispered, sitting beside him. When he turned back, his eyes were darker than normal, they're only like that when he's angry, but I've only ever seen it directed at someone else. And the one time he go mad at me about the snake, but that was years ago. I was scared, really really scared. "Harry?"
"What?" He snapped, glaring at me. I shied away from him, scooting farther down the bed. I hung my head, all my confidence disappearing.
"Your mad at me." I whispered, keeping my eyes on the floor. It's amazing how interesting the floor is when your feeling embarrassed or shy or just really don't want to look at someone. He didn't answer me, and when I peeked through my hair curtain, he was just staring at me. "I'm sorry!" I mumbled, looking away. Ugh, I feel like crying, and anger is bubbling inside of me. He has no reason to be angry! I'm fine! He's going to be fine!
"Gracie!" He sighed, scooting towards me. I stood up, shaking my head. There's no reason I should be so emotional! Stupid teenage hormones! I hate this! "Gracie, please come here!" He grabbed my hand, I let him pull me towards him. I stood between his legs at the edge of the bed. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. I'm not sure why I'm so angry!" He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Me either!" I mumbled, stepping closer to him.
"You feel it too?" He asked, eyeing me skeptically. I nodded sadly, still not meeting his eye. He pulled me down on his lap, looking at me. "Describe how you feel!"
I gave him a questioning look but did it anyway. "It happens at random times. I can feel the anger burning inside me, but it's like there's something else there. Sadness maybe? I'm not really sure, but it just bubbles up, I feel different all of a sudden. But I also feel braver, like I can do anything I want. I felt it when you were angry with me. I felt like you had no reason to be angry with me, but you did."
"No I didn't. But you just described how I feel perfectly." He sighed, resting his forehead against mine.
"Yes you did. The anger is easy to trigger. You weren't exactly happy about me going back to detention." I gave him a small smile, then kissed his cheek. "I'm sorry!"
"So am I. That was no reason to get angry." He smiled, kissing me softly.
"Harry?" I leaned backwards, fully smiling this time. He smiled back quirking an eyebrow.
"What?"
"We've known each other five years. We've been dating for three. Have we ever had a fight? Like one that's lasted more than three minutes?" I giggled, wrapping my arms around his neck. He looked puzzled for a minute, but then his smile got all big and cute. It was contagious.
"No. I don't think so!" He laughed, hugging me tightly. I laughed too, hugging him back.
"Yay us!" I giggled, looking him in the eye. I then proceeded to snog him.
*******************************************
"Black! Other Black!" Angelina yelled, waving us over. Harry was working with the snitch. We aren't really working together right now. We're each working on our own positions. Angelina is keeping, Fred and George are beating a bludger around, and Harry lets the snitch loose, catches it, then lets it loose again. You get it. Ginny hasn't shown up yet.
"What?" We chorused, not stopping. We wove up and down the field, weaving in between the twins and Harry, passing the quaffle back and forth.
"Where's Weasley? If she can't show up I'm giving Katie her position back!" She yelled, waving her arms. I passed the quaffle to Nat, who scored while Angelina was distracted. "Not good game play, but good throw. Now where is she?"
"I don't know!" We chorused, right as fiery red hair rushed onto the field. "There!" We kept up our chorusing, pointing simultaneously. "Where were you?" We yelled, glaring at her.
"I had detention with Umbridge! Sorry I'm late Captain!" She smiled sheepishly, mounting her broom and flying up beside us.
