《A Harry Potter Love Story: Gracie Style *Completed*》Chapter 13

Last chapter left off on a cliffhanger. I couldn't stop there. I hate that so why would I inflict that pain on others? I wouldn't! Here ya gooooo!!!!

"Uh no!" I spun around, answering Uncle Moony's question.

"Yeah right! Mischief managed? We invented that. And I'm pretty sure it had our name on it!" Dad smirked, laughing at y failed attempt to make them leave. Well darn.

"Pft. We're working on our own project. But what's this map your talking about? Sounds interesting?" I crossed my arms, smirking. Dad rolled his eyes but Uncle Lupin pulled out his wand.

Well dang.

"I solemnly swear I am up to no good!" The map reappeared, showing everyone. Including Percy. Who's dot was very close to Penelope Clearwaters......

I fake gasped. "What's that? How'd you do that Uncle Lupin? That's so cool!" He groaned, rolling his eyes, but Dad and Harry chuckled at me. Harry undid the map thingy and shoved it in his pocket.

"You don't give up do you?" Dad asked, laughing. I shook my head and smiled. "How's Gin doing?"

"Oh. Ron asked her on a date and she cracked!" I grinned, winking at him. He and Uncle Moony guffawed in laughter. Wiping fake tears from their eyes.

"I can't believe you and James didn't use that as a prank before!" He laughed, looking at Dad. Dad shook his head, acting like he was ashamed of himself. Suddenly, I miss my room at Grimmauld Place. Being able to talk to James and Lilly.

Don't start that Gracelyn. Your fine. Absolutely fine. Your having fun. When your home, you want to come back to Hogwarts, when your at Hogwarts you want to come home. Make up your mind!

"Relax. You guys can keep the map. I'm going back to the s-Grimmauld Place!" Dad sighed, running a hand through his hair. A waitress came up at that moment, staring at Dad.

"Your Sirius Black!" He nodded sheepishly. The girl is obviously going to flirt, but she looks nice. She's definitely very pretty. She looks to be about twenty eight. She's okay I guess. She looked down at me, and her eyes brightened. "Oh my gosh! You must be Gracie!"

"Uh, yeah?" I said, confused.

"Your dad used to talk about his little girl ALL the time! I always knew he was innocent and when I heard you proved it, oh! I knew you were a special kid!"

"Well, uh thanks?" I asked, looking between her and Dad. He studied her for a minute, then his eyes widened in recognition.

"Maxie?" She nodded, still smiling. "What are you doing here?"

"Rosemerta gave me a job. So nice right?" She laughed, pulling out her own pad. "Tell ya what, because your daughter is so gorgeous, and I missed you soo much, I'm going to treat you all to a free butter beer!"

"Really? Thanks Maxie!" Dad said, smiling. I watched her walk away before I turned to question him.

"Who was that?" He blanched, eyes widening. "Relax. She's pretty. I'm just wondering. You don't have to tell me Dad!"

He sighed in relief, pulling the chairs from his table over for Uncle Moony and himself. "Her name is Maxie. She's related to McGonagall. Her great granddaughter. She was put in Azkaban for four months because what she believed was an emergency, Fudge didn't."

"So she used magic in front of a muggle because of an emergency. But Fudge didn't find it so emergent?" He nodded. I scoffed. "Fudge is so stupid!"

"Your telling me!" Maxie sat the butter beers, grumbling about Fudge. "I take it you told her the story?" She grabbed a fifth bottle and a chair, pulled it up and sat down.

"Just what for and how long. Not what actually happened. Sorry!" Dad shrugged, taking a swig. She laughed, waving him off.

"Nah. I don't care. Grandma Minerva does though!" She rolled her eyes, taking another drink. Exchanging a look with Harry, a smile crept onto my face. Date my dad, please date my dad! I love this chick!

"Speaking of which. This is my godson, Harry Potter. I told you bout that, right?" She nodded, smiling at Harry, but not a flirty smile, a: 'hey I'm sorry you lost your parents but I know you don't want sympathy so I'm not going to say it!' smile. "Well, your grandma stormed into Gracie's dorm to check and see if he was anything. She heard a rumor he slept in there!" Dad chuckled, smiling at her. He likes her! I can tell!

Maxie started laughing, earning glares from the teachers in the corner, especially her grandmother. Well all well I guess. "So, your Dad didn't tell you my awesome story?" I shook my head no, laughing. "Well I will. I kicked a death eaters Arse!" She smirked, taking another swig. Harry and I did the same. I turned on my side so I could lean on Harry. He smiled at me, and kissed my forehead. He put his arm around my shoulder, and covered me with the cloak. I snuggled in, laughing a bit.

"Ready!" I giggled, smiling at Maxie. My new favorite person by the way. She laughed, nodding. She leaned on Dad a bit, who looked shocked, but didn't object.

"Kay. So. I have a muggle friend, right? Yeah well. We were walking by ourselves, just hanging out. And then bang. Death eater pops up. Starts shooting spells all over the place. Especially killing spells. Well, I pulled my wand, starting firing my own. You know. Some regular ones, but when I had to protect one of my best friends from a killing curse when she had no idea what was going on, I got mad. So I fired it back. Then I get an owl, saying I'm under arrest. I wiped her memory, then sent her home while I waited. Fudge told me I should have sent for help, not taken matters into my own hands!" She snapped, her voice taking on a bitter edge. It had started out all excited and stuff, but then, Fudge, and yeah.

"Pft. Fudge is so stupid!" I scoffed, finishing off my butter beer. Maxie and Dad laughed. Uncle Lupin looked worried, and kept looking over Maxie's shoulder.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh hey Minister!" I waved, pasting on a fake smile. He glared at me, and everyone else just got quiet. And I do mean everyone in the whole building.

"Excuse me, but did I just hear you say, 'Fudge is so stupid'?" He glared. Everyone gasped, staring at me. I gasped to, sitting up and placing my hand over my chest in 'shock'.

"Minister! I'm hurt! I can't believe you would think I would say something so hurtful!" I pouted, dropping my eyes. "If you must know, I was talking about the treat. Made of peanut butter or chocolate! Not you Sir! Especially since you gave me a chance to prove my father's innocence! How could I call you a name? How could you think I would?" I wailed, letting my eyes tear up. He stepped back, looking shocked at my outburst.

"Cornelius!" Professor McGonagall stood up, walking bed and pulling me into her arms in an attempt to be comforting. "There was no need to make the poor girl cry! It was just a misunderstanding!" I sobbed onto her robes, clinging gently. Dad and Harry stood up, patting my back. Dad was shaking, probably trying not to laugh.

Maxie grabbed me, pulling me into her arms. "How dare you Minister! She's just a little girl!" She whimpered, hugging me tightly.

"Thanks guys. But it's okay. It's just, I didn't think he would ever think I would insult him. It's not something to cry about. Just a little shocked I guess," I squeezed Maxie, then pulled back, wiping my eyes. The minister handed me a hankie, letting me wipe them more. "Thank you Sir."

"I'm sorry girl. It was a misunderstanding. Please, forgive me?" I nodded, giving him a small smile. Then I hugged him. He patted my back awkwardly. "Well, I suppose I better go. Goodbye all!" He waved to everyone around the room, and left.

"Madam Rosemerta!" Maxie yelled, sniffling a bit. Gotta keep it up or they'll know it's fake. Hehe. "Can we close up early?"

"Sure darling! Give that little girl some ice cream! Cheer her up a bit!" She smiled, shooing some people out the door. Maxie kicked the rest out. When everyone was gone she winked at me and went to get the ice cream. Dad shook his head, laughing to himself, Harry and Uncle Lupin smiled at me like I was the most interesting thing in the world. I have to say, that was my best performance yet. I did pretty dang good!

"That. My dear, was amazing!" Maxie said, putting a bowl in front of everyone. Madam Rosemerta rolled her eyes as said good night to each of us, heading upstairs. "You are quite the actress!" I bowed a little bite in my mouth.

"Thank you, thank you very much!" I giggled, smiling at her. You weren't bad yourself!"

"Thanks!" She winked, taking a bite of hers. "So, can I talk to you a minute? In private?"

I nodded, smiling. What's up with this? "Sure!" We walked over to the corner and she put her hands on my shoulders.

"Okay! Can I just say you are the most amazing kid like, ever! And that has nothing to do with what I'm about to say, cus that's totally true. But um, I was wondering. Can I ask out your dad? Do you mind?" She asked, fiddling with her fingers nervously. I squealed and jumped up and down, smiling and hugging.

"I thought you'd never ask! Maxie I know we just met but your one of my favorite people in the world! Your so cool!" She beamed, hugging me tightly.

"Really?" I nodded, smiling at her. "Thank you so much!" She let go and we skipped over to Dad together. "Sirius, can I talk to you?" He eyed me, standing up. I watched them walk over, she talked and then he looked back at me, looking nervous. I nodded encouragingly, smiling at him. He grinned and gave me a thumbs up.

They walked back over together, sitting down beside each other. "So, are you two finally together? I had to leave before I found out for sure?" She laughed, pointing at Harry and I. I nodded, smiling at Harry. "Good!" She cheered. "So, I hear you two are the youngest players in a century?" She wiggled her eyebrows, laughing a bit.

"You know it!" I laughed, fist bumping her. "You should come to the match!"

"Yeah!" Harry sat up, smiling. "You and Sirius can both come! That'd be brilliant!"

"I'll tell you when!" Dad smiled, watching her. She nodded eagerly, clapping her hands together.

"Sorry kids, but we have to go. They lock the school gates in ten minutes!" Uncle Moony stood up, smiling at all of us.

"Boo!" I pouted, hugging Maxie. She hugged me back.

"You better write me!" She laughed, I nodded beaming at her. She reminds me of someone.

"See you at the next visit? And the match!" She nodded back, holding her smile in place. We said goodbye to Dad, giving him a hug as well, and then Uncle Lupin marched us up to the castle.

"So you like her?" Harry asked. I nodded, smiling at him.

"Maxie is awesome!" Classes had been a drag all week, and I had talked about how cool Maxie was almost the whole time. I checked to make sure Ron wasn't around before continuing. "Mrs. Weasley is great, I love her like I would my Mum. But Maxie is,"

"Different. She's younger, and her personality fits yours better!" Harry smiled, finishing for me. I nodded, putting my broom away. The match is tomorrow, Oliver wanted to have one final practice before. Time flies you know. It really does.

"Yeah. That's it!"

"Gracie! Harry!" Dad whispered, stepping out from the broom shed. I jumped, grabbing Harry's arm. "I just wanted to say good luck tomorrow!"

"Thanks Dad!" I hugged him, Harry gave him a man hug and then we skipped off. Running up to our dorm.

I got inside and shivered, feeling the warm air hit my cold skin. It's getting colder outside still, and I don't like it! I pulled on a hoodie, and threw my hair up in a high ponytail. I pulled on a pair of sweat pants and my funky socks. Went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. When I walked out, an owl was waiting for me on my bed.

Looking cute girl(;

What? I spun around, looking to see who had done it. Maxie popped up outside the window. "Hey!" She whispered, taking in the sleeping girls beside me. Nat, Ginny, and Mione had all listened about the Dad and Maxie story. They can't wait to meet her, but nows not the time.

"What are you doing here?" I giggled, sitting cross legged on my bed. She did the same, playing with the strings on her hoodie. I looked down, her outfit was really close to mine. A hoodie, but hers was green as to my blue one, and her sweat pants were black, as to my grey ones. But both hoodies had the same print, wand the sweatpants both had a rhinestone heart on the hip. Aw, we match!

"I told Grandma I want to watch the match! She told me there was only one dorm open but that I could stay here. I walked in right as you went in the bathroom!" She laughed, smiling at me. I smiled back, then poked her arm.

"So, how was the date?"

She laughed, pulling a pillow up to her chest! Hey! I do that! I am doing that! "It was amazing! We got all dressed up and went to a muggle restaurant, and then we danced. It was so sweet! And he's so funny! Gracie, I know this is going to sound weird, but I really like your Dad!" She sighed, laying her head on my shoulder. She had a dreamy look in her eyes, and she seemed so happy. And I know Dad was happy because I saw him earlier.

"I'm glad your not scared of him. Some people still are!"

She sat up quickly, frowning. "Oh I never was! I was on the street. I saw the whole thing, I offered to testify. I did everything I could! But no one would listen. That's why Fudge sent me to Azkaban when he did. He remembered me. It was all a big mess. And when they put me in a cell with your dad, I ran and hugged him chanting, 'I know your innocent!'. I saw the look in his eyes, I knew he was innocent. Besides, I was the witness no one knew about. I always knew your dad was innocent. I tried to visit you, you know. After I got out. But Sirius told me that you didn't know each other yet. I got out a few days before you cleared him!" She laughed, smiling at me more.

I threw myself at her in a hug. "Your brilliant Maxie!" She laughed more, patting my back.

"Thanks. But I'm also an adult. And an ex chaser. So get some sleep missy!" She pulled the covers back, tucking me in. A little weird since I'm thirteen but hey, it was sweet. She'll be a great Mum someday. She took the one empty bed in the room, curling up. I fell asleep almost instantly, dreaming of the days to come.

*******************************************

"Go go Gryffindor! Go go Gryffindor!" This is not good weather! And the Slytherins are cheating again! Ugh! In a moment of frustration, I threw the quaffle as hard and fast as I could, scoring Gryffindor a goal. It was one hundred to sixty, Gryffindor of course.

"Go Gracie!" Dad cheered, easily over coming the noise of the crowd. He and Maxie have been cheering loudly for Harry and I. Along with Hagrid, the girls, and Ron. I passed the quaffle to Nat, who faked a goal and passed to me, letting me score easily.

"Go Nat!"

"We have cheerleaders!" I laughed, trying to lighten the mood. Even though my goggles are fogging up again. She nodded, laughing with me. "Lets go!"

We flew off, chasing the Slytherin captain for the quaffle, we boxed him in with the help of Angelina, she punched the quaffle, sending it forward, ultimately making it fall. I dropped a few feet, catching it. We passed back and forth back and forth. They all swarmed me when I had the quaffle, a bludger came at my face. I bent back on my room, throwing it when I popped up.

Nat caught it and the crowd roared. The quaffle came back, hitting a Slytherin who was still flying by my side. "Bye!" I cheered, watching him fall back.

I flew up in a new move Oliver wanted to try. I was flying straight forward when the snitch flew by my ear. I wanted to grab it, but that's Harry's job. It swirled around my head, making a buzzing noise. I groaned in annoyance, flying into position. Harry flew up, attempting to grab it. I leaned sideways, and the snitch followed. Harry missed. We both groaned. I backed up a bit, it followed.

"Grab it please! It's annoying me!" I stuttered, my teeth chattering. It's even colder up here! A dementor flew by, coming out of no where. I screamed, dropping a few feet, fumbling for my wand. "Expecto Patronum!" My doe flew out, fighting off several dementors.

There were several calls of, "Gracie!" and "Harry!". But what are we supposed to do? A few more dementors flew by. One attacked Harry and he started to fall, falling off his broom, and towards the ground.

"HARRY" I screamed, racing after him. "No no no!" A dementor flew by my ear, making me feel depressed and cold. He started doing the thing it did to Harry. No. This isn't the dementor's kiss? The crowd gasped as I fell from my broom, falling backwards.

"Expecto, Expecto," I couldn't do it. The words wouldn't come out.

"Fight Gracelyn! Fight!" Dad yelled, his voice reaching my ears. But I couldn't. A bright light flew ahead of me, taking the dementor away. But I was still falling.

"ARRESTO MOMENTUM!" I yelled, at the same time, as Professor Dumbledore!
