"She looks so small." Becky said brushing her soft locks.

"She is small." Seth said. "But she's a fighter."

"She is." Becky said.

It had been two days in the hospital now and Gracie was fighting a rare illness doctor weren't sure of what it was. Doctors had her on antibiotics and finally yesterday her fever broke. Now they are waiting for her to wake up.

"Mommy." Gracie cried.

"I'm here." Becky said rushing from the couch along the window to Gracie's bed.

"Mommy." She cried.

"It's okay." Becky said. "You gotta stay calm my sweet girl."

She placed her hand on her stomach and Gracie calmed down.

"Mommy." Gracie said.

"Yes my sweet girl." Becky said. "You are in the hospital, you got sick."

"Sick?" Gracie said.

"Yes, but you are getting better." Becky said.

"Daddy?" Gracie asked.

"He went to get food." Becky said. "Why don't I text him so he can hurry."

"Okay." Gracie said.

Becky grabbed her phone and texted Seth then rang for the nurse.

"Good morning." Nurse Heidi said coming in. "I see someone is awake."

"Daddy." Gracie said.

"He's coming sweet girl." Becky said. "This is Nurse Heidi, she's been helping take care of you."

"It's good to see you finally awake." Heidi said checking the machines. "Can you tell me how you feel?"

"Heavy." She said.

"On your chest and belly?" Heidi asked.

"Yes." Gracie said.

"Your illness is in your lungs." Heidi said. "But the meds you are on is making it go away."

"Such a brave girl fighting this bug." Becky said.

"Daddy." Gracie said lighting up.

Becky turned and saw Seth come in. He set the bags and drinks down and was over to the bed the next moment.

"Hello my sweet girl." Seth said. "How are you feeling?"

"Scared." Gracie said reaching for him.

"You can pick her up just be careful of her IV." Heidi said.

Seth nodded and scooped Gracie up and she attached herself to Seth.

"You're okay." Seth said rubbing her back.

"I am going to let Dr. Reed know she is awake and he'll come in and look her over." Heidi said.

"Thanks." Becky said.

"I got you." Seth said as Gracie's little hand dug into his shirt.

"It's okay sweet luv." Becky said. "You are safe here."

She eased up a bit laying her head in his shoulder and relaxing.

"I am told she woke up?" Dr. Reed said coming in.

"She just zonked back out." Seth said rubbing her back.

"Safe in daddy's arms." Dr. Reed said. "Her vitals are looking good and she's going to be tired for a while. But I would say she's on the mend, it's going to take a while for her to return to her full self."

"We understand that." Becky said. "Do we know how she was exposed to this?"

"We are still trying to track this strain." Dr. Reed said. "Gracie has a strong immune system thanks to the great care you two have had in raising her. The fact that some haven't been able to fight this fast shows that. But we have to leave the tracking to the CDC for now,"

"We understand." Seth said.

"She's a fighter." Dr. Reed said. "Her lungs are sounding better."

"That's good news." Becky said. "How much longer do you think she might need to be here?"

"At least a few more days." Dr. Reed said. "I'd like her lungs to sound clear and for her to be awake longer."

"Okay." Becky said.

"I will check in her later." Dr. Reed said before leaving.

"How is she?" Josh asked coming in with Jen.

"She's getting stronger." Becky said.

"Where is she?" Jen asked.

"Doing x-rays with Seth." Becky said. "If they come back clean we get take her home."

"That's great news." Josh said.

"It is." Becky said.

"But there is more." Josh said.

"Dr. Reed worries about long term damage to her lungs, right now if she laughs to much she starts coughing." Becky said. "She has to use an inhaler when that happens."

"Oh." Josh said.

"Uncle Josh and Aunt Jen are here." Gracie said as Seth wheeled her in.

"Of course we are." Josh said. "Heard you were sick and we flew right back."

"Wrelly?" Gracie said.

"Really." Jen said handing her a stuff bear they picked up in the gift shop.

"Thank you." Gracie said. "Mommy."

"Hello my luv." Becky said carefully moving her from the chair to her lap. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired." Gracies yawned. "A bit cold too."

"With that paper gown I would be cold too." Becky said wrapping Gracie in her green blanket from home.

"She looks a lot better." Josh said.

"She's getting stronger each day." Becky said.

"What are you doing about work?" Jen asked.

"We are off lives this weekend, but will have to fly to Lexington for Raw." Becky said.

"If you two can stick around maybe she can just stay at the house." Seth said.

"We're here as long as you need us." Josh said.

"We'd be happy to keep her home with her stuff, I know Bella and Kevin seem lost without her." Jen said.

"Bella cried last night." Josh said.

"Well hopefully her x-rays show she's clear to go home." Seth said.

"And they do." Dr. Reed said coming in. "Her lungs look clear, so I think it's time she goes home."

"Thank you." Becky said.

"I will work on her release papers and meds." Dr. Reed said.

He left and Becky kissed the top of her daughter's head.

While Gracie slept a nurse removed her IV and then Becky got her dressed in warm clothing.

"What's going on?" Gracie asked wake up.

"We get to go home." Seth said. "With you."

Gracie smiled and Seth hugged her calming the slight panic that they were leaving her.

"See guys she is okay." Seth said as Gracie sat in the floor as Kevin and Belle moved over her sniffing and panting.

"They worry." Gracie asked.

"Yes, these two are in tune with you, so when you got sick they knew and were scared." Seth said.

"No worry, I home now." Gracie said petting them as they licked her fingers.

After a calm afternoon with several little naps, Gracie happily ate her Mac and cheese before having a bubble bath and falling asleep as Seth read to her.

"You are so amazing you know that." Seth said wrapping his arms around her and kissing her behind her ear.

"I am?" Becky asked. "I feel so weak."

"You are far from that." Seth said guiding them to sit down in the couch. "I know seeing Gracie sick and feeling helpless to help her felt like you were an inch tall but you were fighting for her, I honestly believe she gets her fighting nature from you."

"I felt like my heart was breaking listening to the machine say she was alive but seeing her nit herself." Becky said.

"I was with you there." Seth said. "But when she woke up it was like the light in you came back to life. You made what could be a miserable time in the hospital almost like an adventure."

"I was going nuts." Becky said.

"Yes but you saved our daughter from trying to go to fast and hurt herself." Seth said. "You are amazing, brave and strong."

"Thank you." Becky said. "You were my rock this whole time."

"I always want to be your rock like you are my light." Seth said.

"Always." Becky said turning and kissing him deeply.

"So one sleep and daddy and I will be back." Becky said. "Uncle Josh and Aunt Jen are going to keep you here so you can be with Kevin and Bella because they missed you so much and you aren't cleared for traveling.

"Okay." Gracie said. "One sleep."

"One sleep." Seth said. "And Uncle Josh went to the store today and found you grapes and Aunt Jen has a surprise for you."

"For me?" Gracie asked.

"Yep, I got the fixings for banana splits and some cool nail polish so we can do a at home mani and pedi and have a good treat." Jen said.

"Yay." Gracie said before coughing slightly.

"Easy." Becky said.

"I know mommy." Gracie said.

After some more cuddled Seth and Becky headed out. The flight time between home and Davenport was just over two and a half hour but it felt a million miles away.

"Bex." Charlotte said wrapping her arms around Becky as the others in the locker room watched.

"She's on the mend." Becky said.

"I prayed all the time for her." Charlotte said.

"I saw #prays4Gracie." Becky said.

"It's still trending." Lana said coming in.

"She is loved." Kairi said.

"Very much so." Becky said. "Trust me if we weren't building to steal the damn show in two weeks I'd be home."

"Me too." Asuka said. "She strong like warrior."

"She is." Becky said.

After settling in she walked to production to see his tonight was going to go.

"There she is." Seth said when Becky came in.

"Hi." Becky said hugging her.

"Stephanie was just asking about Gracie." Seth said.

"She's doing better." Becky said.

"That's good." Stephanie said. "So tonight you are doing a contract signing with Asuka."

"Okay." Becky said and Stephanie went over how things we're going to go.

"Sweet dreams my luv." Becky said sitting backstage. "Everyone here says to tell you they love you."

"Wow." Gracie said.

"There's my girl." Seth said sitting down.

"Daddy." Gracie said smiling.

"How are you?" Seth asked.

"Sleepy." Gracie said.

"I bet." Seth said. "I got a short story for tonight."

"Okay." Gracie said.

"Josh already had the tablet set up for reading." Becky said.

"Cool." Seth said.

"Night my sweet luv, I will see you in the morning." Becky said.

"Night mommy." Gracie said. "Love you."

"Love you." Becky said.

Seth launched into the book he had and she watched as Gracie fell asleep.

"Thanks for being there with her." Seth said as Josh moved the camera.

"Anytime brother." Josh said.

"Our flight from here is at midnight so we get in around three so we'll keep it quiet." Seth said.

"Okay." Josh said. "Call if you need an update."

"We will." Seth said.

After hanging up he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you." She said leaning her head against his.

"Mommy." Gracie said pulling on her hand.

"Hi my sweet luv." Becky said.

"Up." Gracie said.

Becky smiled and picked her up and watched as she climbed over her and onto Seth's chest were she settled waking him.

"Morning." Seth said.

"No sleep." Gracie said.

"Someone needed daddy cuddles." Becky said rolling over and pulling the blanket over Gracie's back.

"I see." Seth said rubbing her back.

Becky looked at the clock and saw it was just after four. They had just gone to bed themselves.

"It's only four, sleep some more." Becky said laying her head in his shoulder and both went back to sleep with Gracie.

"Morning." Becky said when Josh and Jen came into the living room.

"Morning." Josh said.

"How was your flight?" Jen asked.

"It was good." Becky said sipping her coffee.

"What time did Gracie join you?" Josh asked.

"She woke me to get her on the bed so she could sleep on Seth's chest." Becky said smiling. "It was just after four so we had just gone to bed."

"Mommy." Gracie called.

"Music to my ears." Becky said.

"We're going to run and get coffee and food." Josh said. "We'll see you in a bit."

Becky nodded and walked to her bedroom.

"Good morning my luv." She said sitting down on the bed. "You called for me?"

"Daddy was trying to eat me." Gracie said crawling into Becky's lap.

"Why was he trying to eat you?" Becky asked.

"He said I smells like strawberries." Gracie said.

"You do." Becky said.

"So hungry." Seth said reaching for Gracie.

"No." Gracie squealed.

As his hands got closer she squealed more and Kevin and Bella ran in barking.

"My defenders." Gracie said.

"Oh the noise, my weakness." Seth said covering his ears.

"Yay we're defeating him." Gracie cheered.

"But we gotta make sure we get him fully, so we must tickle the urge to eat you out of him." Becky said.

Gracie smiled and sprung over landing on Seth's stomach moving her hands to his chest and tickling as Becky fallowed.

"No, the urge is going." Seth said dramatically.

"It's almost gone." Becky said.

"Now what?" Gracie asked.

"We must kiss his cheeks ten times to make sure it's completely gone." Becky said.

They moved again and Gracie took the left side and Becky the right and kisses and counted.

"And ten." Becky said.

"Do you wanna eat me still daddy?" Gracie asked.

"I think the urge is gone." Seth said.

"Yay." Gracie cheered. "We stopped him."

"We did." Becky said smiling.

"That was hard work." Gracie said. "I am hungry now."

"Oh no did the urge move to Gracie?" Seth asked.

"Nope, I just want toast, no mommy or daddy." Gracie said.

"We got breakfast." Josh called.

"Yay Uncle Josh saved the day." Gracie cheered climbing off the bed and running from the room with Kevin and Bella.

"I have missed this." Seth said.

"Me too." Becky said. "Come on they got real coffee too."

"Sweet." Seth said pulling her down and kissing her. "You smell like coffee."

"Come on mister." Becky said. "Let's drink the real stuff and not me."

Seth chuckled and they got out of bed and walked to the living room.

"Slow down sweet girl." Becky said as Gracie munched on her toast.

"It's so good." Gracie said.

"I understand, but if you eat to fast you can hurt your belly and your belly doesn't want that." Becky said.

"Oh no." Gracie said.

"Eat slow and keep it happy." Becky said.

"Okay." Gracie said.

"Thank you for the coffee." Becky said.

"You're welcome." Jen said.

"Daddy." Gracie said crawling into his lap.

"Yes my sweet?" Seth asked.

"Do we have to go to the gym today?" Gracie asked.

"You my love are in no shape to go to the gym." Seth said.

"Okay." Gracie said. "Does that mean I can sit on you all day?"

"All day?" Seth asked.

"Maybe." Gracie said shrugging her shoulders.

"If it makes you happy to sit in me you can." Seth said kissing her head. "How are you feeling?"

"Sleepy." Gracie said.

"Do you need a little nap?" Seth asked.

"Yeah." Gracie said. "But I need my blanket."

"I'll get it." Becky said leaving and coming back with it.

"Mommy." Gracie said moving into her lap. "Nap."

"You wanna nap on me?" Becky asked.

"Yes." Gracie said snuggling into her. "Comfy."

Becky smiled and covered her in her blanket and she fell asleep.

"My girls." Seth said brushing his hand over Becky's making her smile.
