'Damn... Why the hell was I even thinking about that bastard like that?' Naruto contemplated in his mind.
'Sure he 'maybe' the most attractive guy in the school, and he does have the best bod-! NO! Stop it you damn brain!' Naruto panicked in his mind.
'Ughh, screw that damn bastard. I've got better things to think about.'
Naruto quietly walked down the empty hallways. No body was there in his sight as school was over and the blonde didn't want to go home yet. As he was walking alone with his thoughts, he failed to see the people in front of him and bumped right into them.
"Ooof!" Naruto fell to the ground. He looked up to see who he had bumped into and to give you a hint, lady luck was unfortunately on his side.
"Look, it's the loner again." Kiba smirked maliciously as he looked down at the blonde.
"Wonder whose turn is it to kick the shit out of him." Gaara questioned like as if Naruto was some rag doll girls took turns to play with.
"Give the fucker to me! I got to get my payback from this morning. Hopefully the loser will get it into his damn brain not to talk to me like that." Kiba glared angrily at Naruto, getting his fists ready.
Naruto's blue eyes widened in fear. He couldn't run or fight. The bruises all over his body prevented him from moving. They ached to much.
But if he didn't get away, Kiba would definitely add more bruises to his all ready injured body. All of a sudden he felt himself being lifted off the ground and smashed into the walls.

"AHHH!" The blonde screamed as he felt his head get crushed onto the wall. The dog-boy kneed him the stomach and threw a punch at Naruto's face. He then grabbed Naruto's blonde locks and smashed his head again onto the wall. Tears streamed down Naruto's face due to the pain and he shouted in anguish.
"Hey look! The piece of shit is crying!" Neji laughed as he saw the poor blonde in agony.
"Fucker deserves it." Gaara stated quietly, just looking at Naruto with no sympathy in his eyes.
Kiba just dropped Naruto to the floor and as a parting gift, he kicked him on the chest. The wind left Naruto's body as he felt suffocated.
Trying to breathe.
Clutching his arms around himself and lying on the floor.
Gasping for air.
Crying his eyes out.
All the while Sasuke just stared at the blonde, keeping his face emotionless. It was so difficult.
So difficult not to grab Naruto...
And shield him from the afflictions being inflicted on him.
Inside, the raven was seething at the three boys, wishing he could injure them twice as much as they did to his secret love. He knew he couldn't do anything. He had to play his part.
"Leave the loser. I've got better things to do than to make his already pathetic life worse." Sasuke said dryly.
"You're going soft on him Uchiha." Neji said skeptically.
"Whatever. Let's just go." Sasuke turned around abruptly and walked off to the entrance of the school.
The three boys looked at the raven walking away and started walking with him.
Naruto was left alone, with no one around. Just lying there, billowing for air. After a few minutes, the blonde shakily stood up and walked slowly, trying to get out of school.

"Fuck... Kiba went all out today. Then again, this is just as worse than before." Naruto whispered breathlessly to himself.
The blonde walked slowly towards the bus station. Looking at the distance, he saw a bus coming and as quickly as he could, Naruto got onto the bus. Sitting down in 'his' corner, he huddled up into a ball and laid his head on the window. The bus driver looked at him in concern but said nothing.
The bus started moving. Naruto just sighed. He wished his life was different.
He wished for a life where he was liked by people. A life where he could just hang out with his buddies and laugh the time away. A life where he could come to a warm house where his mother would smile at him and ask,
'How was your day honey?'
A life where his dad would ruffle his hair and tease him about trivial, stupid things.
A life where his best friend... would be his best friend.
Naruto felt tears flow down his eyes but he quickly dried them off. He was never going to cry for that bastard ever again. Sasuke made his decision.
The bus made a halt. Naruto paid for the ride and hopped down the bus. He could see his house from where he was standing and he reluctantly began walking towards it.
'Hopefully he's not at home. I can't go through another...' Naruto was afraid. Afraid for his life. Terrified of what would do to him. Naruto got to the entrance of his house and breathed in deeply.
"To what ever God or entity that lives up there, please don't make me go through that again." Naruto whispered, praying his wish would be true.
Naruto opened the door. It was dark. The lights were off. There was no sound. Just pin drop silence meet his ears. The blonde sneaked into the room and quietly closed the front door. He sighed in relief and made his way to the stairs. Before he could even reach the first stair, a hand grabbed his collar and hurled him onto the floor. A large foot stepped on his wrist. Identical cerulean eyes looked down at the skinny blonde. Eyes filled with hate.
"You came back huh?" Minato said, hate laced in his voice. "Can't you just die you worthless fucker?!" The older blonde screamed and stepped on Naruto's throat.
Naruto screamed in fear. He couldn't breathe again! Minato increased the force in his foot and began squeezing his neck more. Suddenly the load on his neck was gone but Naruto felt his body getting lifted again for the third time. Minato began punching the younger blonde's face more, until it became a bloody mess.
Minato let go of Naruto and walked away, out of the front door. Naruto knew exactly where he was going. Usually his dad would escape to a nearby bar and get wasted, before passing out on the couch. The door slammed, signalling that Minato was out.
Naruto laid there on the floor for a few minutes, before crawling towards his room. Using all his energy, he flopped on the bed and cried his pain away till he fell into a dreamless sleep.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST.
