《Finally Us》Moving & Made Up Stories

Day 25 of 34 was going better than she expected it to. They were currently in the small town of Goodland, Kansas, which as you expected was in the middle of nowhere. The crew had really only stopped here for a break when the D.W. got the idea to actually shoot here. Day 24 consisted of him going through every possible townsperson up to the mayor and even the governor of the state to film a tiny short scene that would last about a five minutes at the most for the movie. He had gotten it done, which amazed Laura, and she was now on an old US highway, looking around the area of plowed corn fields and absolutely no one else in sight. There were old boards she could see behind a fence that was on it's last leg, indicating that someone, once upon a time, lived in this place, but now, the closest structure was a shiloh that looked a million miles away and now she was even more amazed at the people who cultivated and owned all this land and the hard work that they had to put into it every single day. Something, she wasn't sure she could actually do.

Day 25 started off with D.W. and her co-star, Michael, waking up at the crack of dawn and just driving to the middle of nowhere, where the crew had caught up with them. D.W. was a very hands on kind of director, filming little scenes himself that actually turned out better than anyone expected. The finished product with his scenes that were filmed on a simple iPhone were some of the best scenes in his past projects, and that's just what they were doing today. They had shot, and re-shot, and re-shot again, another fight scene with this newlywed couple who were moving from Tallahassee to Denver on a count of the wife's new job. At the moment, she was mad. Mad at her new husband for suggesting something ridiculous and, you know, forgetting to put a full tank of gas in the car.

She acted out the scene, raised hell and hoped she was scaring her co-star with her character Autumn's antics and he fought right back with her. It wasn't a long scene, but it was an important one - one that caused her character to question everything about their relationship and second guess if they were really going to make it in their marriage. Laura knew her character and she was one that didn't give up easily. Before Freddie left to film on his new blockbuster of a film, they had cooked up a backstory about this girl and the couple. She had come from a family who held high standards and failure was not an option, but then again, neither was jumping into a relationship at the first sign of love at first sight. That's what Autumn did. Autumn threw herself into the arms of Kavanagh, a charming and passionate man who had swept her off of her feet in the year they had dated and after a short vacation in Puerto Rico, they had come back with rings on their fingers and a hyphen on her last name. Now though, Autumn was having serious doubts about them as they were finding out things about the other that they hadn't over their year courtship. Important things. Things they definitely should've discussed before saying 'I Do'.

Now back on the road again, she was chilling out in the backseat in one of the vehicles of their seven car caravan. This was an indie film and flights two and from their locations weren't in the budget, nor were they necessary. Plus, it was kind of cool to have an actual road trip when they were filming a road trip. Her fingers flew fast over the keyboard of her phone, responding to an email from her sister about plans to come and visit her in San Francisco when another call came through. Rydel's name flashed on the screen and she didn't have to wait for her normal three rings to answer it right away. It was Rydel, and she was a pick up the instant you see it's her person.

"Hey, Rydel."

"Where are you?"

"Um, in the back of a car. You okay?" Laura cradled the phone in her neck while she readjusted her butt in the seat and glanced out the window.

"Ah, that's right. You're filming that movie still."

"Rydel, you sound like you're stressed. What's going on?"

She listened as Rydel let out a deep breath and knew she hit it right on the nose. She was stressed and Laura was going to bet it had everything to do with the wedding.

"Nothing. I just wanted to see you and get lunch or something and when I stopped by your place, everything was like stuck."

Laura smiled. "I think you're avoiding my question."

"No, I just wanted lunch and some Laura time."

"Where we'd end up talking about how much we missed pigging out and how boys are the worst and how your wedding plans are..."

"Being taken over by my mother," Rydel finished up for her.

"There we go. Spill."

And without hesitation, Rydel did. She complained about having to pick a date she wasn't happy with, she complained about her mom making this event about what she wanted and not what Rydel or Ellington had envisioned and she was going crazy over having to possibly wear this princess ball gown when Rydel was neither a princess nor a ball gown person. Sure, she might have been when she was five and in a mess of boys, she had to have her girly side, but that was definitely not the case now. Rydel wanted something much more low key than the glam and modern event Stormie and Cheryl had planned for their children. She wanted muted colors, not bold and in your face. She wanted sweet music and her dad walking her down a grassy aisle and twinkle lights sprinkling over a venue that was so off the map, everyone would get lost getting there. She wanted classic and elegant, not over the top and in your face. Most of all, she wanted it to be her dream wedding, not her mom's dream wedding. That was the most important thing.

"You need to tell Stormie all of this."

"Yea, and then I'll break her heart."

"Rydel, it's your wedding."

"Okay, sure, I'll break her heart and then you'll get her for yours and Ross's."

Laura closed her eyes, rubbing her forehead as a little smirk popped up on her mouth. "Not you too. Are you all in on this 'Laura and Ross need to get married and have kids as soon as possible' thing?"

"Nope. That has Stormie Lynch written all over it."

"And Ellen Marano," Laura laughed with Rydel over the situation before the idea popped in her head. "Hey, I'm just days away from wrapping this movie and then I had planned to go to San Francisco to see Vanessa. Why don't you come with me?"

She felt Rydel pause, probably biting her bottom lip in between her two front teeth and debating on if she really wanted to and if she really could get away with it without her mom coming in and saying that she'd come along. By the way that Rydel was talking, Laura knew she kind of needed the time away, just to breathe; just to not think about a wedding for two seconds. She needed to be a tourist, get drinks bought for her from random guys at bars, and most importantly, have some actual girl time. Laura knew that Rydel was in need of this, as her best friends probably weren't available to take her away like she could. They were amazing and cool girls, but they still had regular jobs that they had to maintain in order to function in Los Angeles society.

"No pressure to come, Ry," Laura told her. "Just know that the offer is there."

"Thanks Laura."

It was a quiet day for Ellington. Not too quiet, but quiet enough that he could enjoy an extra, or many extra, cups of coffee without being reprimanded for the amount of caffeine he was putting in his body. Living alone, but just blocks away from Rocky and Riker, Ellington was prone to surprise visits from the two - who he had mistakenly given a spare key - and he was hoping that neither of them would pop by today. Today was all about him being a bum and waiting for Rydel to come over since she just returned from San Francisco with Laura the day before.

She had only been gone for a few days, not a lot in their book of being away from each other, but he had still missed her. Although she technically still lived with her parents, she was living there more than five nights a week and after waking up by her side for the past year and a half, waking up with her not beside him for even just a few days was weird for him. It wasn't as warm in the bed without her there. But she deserved the girl's weekend trip - especially after having to deal with her own mother and his own mother with all the wedding planning. He could tell that Rydel had been stressed over everything with the wedding and if Stormie or Cheryl took her to one more wedding boutique or shoved another brochure in front of her about flowers or cake, or music options for the reception. Hell, even he was a bit stressed from it all. Seeing her stressed, made him stressed. Planning a wedding should never be stressful. It should be fun and it should be exactly what the bride wants. All he wanted to do was shoot his hand up into the sky when they were announced as husband and wife and kiss the hell out of her.

Coffee in his hand, Ellington booted up his computer, ready to check all of his email inboxes for the first and last time before making this day a perfect day and doing absolutely nothing. In between laying down base tracks with Rocky for R5's planned fifth album, he'd been in and out of drum and dance lessons at the local studio and today just happened to be an off day where he had no lessons lined up. It was a plus for him, as he planned to catch up on his television watching and get started on his vows (something about the wedding they'd decided while in Ireland together). Not that their wedding was next week or anything - in all honesty, they still had yet to set a date - but getting started on those now would help him in the long run. He had so many emotions about Rydel that even if they'd set the date for three years from now, he'd still be writing them down because of how many he had. Never hurt anyone to start early.

Emails came up and he replied to the ones that needed a response right away and archived the others. He deleted the junk before another email came through. Years ago, he had jokingly signed up for alerts from Google about 'Rydellington' and 'Raura' just because for something light while they were on the road and him and Rydel could laugh over during their downtimes when they weren't exploring the world and this email was all about Raura. However, as soon as he opened it, he was regretting it. His eyes read from left to right rapidly, becoming bigger as the words went on and his jaw following their shock and unbelieveableness. This article couldn't be real. It just couldn't. But before he could continue in checking the validity of it, his front door swung open and a happy Rydel stepped through, almost pushing him over from the chair for a hug.

Ellington brushed back her hair and kissed her before she slipped down onto his lap and he pushed the computer away before she could see the article. That was something for later...much later. Right now, it was about her and telling him about the weekend she just had, which in her words was "the best weekend ever." She and Laura had met up with Vanessa and two of her co-stars, Amanda and Helen, for another road trip up to Napa where she insisted that they go back to.

"Right now?"

"Not now, but soon. Because we stopped by this garden place that I think is the place."

Ellington furrowed his brow. "The place? You mean like wedding venue place?" Rydel nodded profusely. "I thought that you liked the other place on the coast?"

"I do, but this place, Ell...it's almost perfect. It's off the map and spacious and the views, oh my gosh, Ell, the views are just spectacular. Catering is included in everything and there's a little honeymoon cabin off the vineyard...it's just perfect."

"Sounds like you've pretty much made up your mind on this place."

Rydel blushed a little, a light rosy shade of pink emerging on her cheeks. "Is that a bad bride thing to do? I mean, I didn't even discuss this with you before kind of maybe putting a hold on a future date..."

"You put a hold on it?" Ellington's hand that was holding up his chin slipped down to the table. "A deposit, and a date?"

"No, not a date. Just a hold. They said that I can bring you back within three weeks and if you like it, we put a deposit on it then. I didn't want to sign anything without you liking it too. But, I swear to you Ellington, this is the place we will be getting married at."

As Rydel spoke about taking the little trip with Laura, he realized that this was possibly the greatest thing that ever could've happened. This trip caused her to take the wedding into her own hands and reclaim as theirs. It wasn't going to be Stormie and Cheryl's any longer, it was going to Rydel and Ellington's and he was definitely on board with that. They spent most of the rest of the afternoon talking about the wedding and planning what they actually wanted to have there. He wanted a deejay and she was okay with that, as long as R5 could make a special appearance. She wanted everything rustic and warm and welcoming. He wanted an ice cream bar throughout the entire thing. She wanted him in anything but a three piece suit. He wanted to wear superhero socks. When asked who was giving her away, she wanted all her brothers and dad to say they were. He wanted her to walk down the aisle to Duke Ellington's "I'm A Lucky So and So". They both wanted to say their own vows.

By three o'clock, it looked like they had their entire wedding planned, except for the date of course, and her dress. But other than that, it was finished; and it was easy. It was so easy. The hard part would come when they would tell their parents in a few days. As he went to the kitchen to make them something to eat, Rydel pulled out his laptop and was about to start typing an email to herself when she noticed the browser off to the corner. The one that read 'Laura Marano Admits Ross Lynch Relationship Is PR Stunt' on the top. The same one he forgot to minimize and make sure she didn't see for at least a few more hours.

"Crap," he muttered, bringing back the water he had in his hand and pulling the laptop away from her. She pulled it back, of course and kept on reading the article. He wanted to be that guy who forces someone to quit something, but with his fiancee, it was pointless. She would always get her way with him. Her brown eyes slowly connected with his, the hope and excitement that were there just seconds ago replaced with worry scattered all over them. Her eyes did the same thing his did, her jaw following moments after as she turned back to him.

"Where did you find this?"

"Remember how we jokingly signed up for those alerts? That one was in it this morning."

"Does Ross know about this?"

"I don't know," Ellington shrugged his shoulders. "Does Laura?"

"What is this site?" Rydel's hands roamed around the site, clicking every story she could to get more information on the types of stories they wrote about. It was a celeb site, of course, and most of them were about movies and gossip on the sets.

"I was going to tell you about this later tonight."

"You were?"

"Yea, after we had lunch and caught up and after I had shown you how much I missed you. That probably won't be happening now."

Rydel leaned over and kissed him sweetly. "Oh, it will be happening, but later. After we've investigated this and have chosen the most appropriate course of action."

"You mean who to tell first. Laura or Ross."

Rydel nodded, grabbing all the information she could about the source, which unfortunately, she was familiar with...and so was he. "This is why we don't give this site anything. They're awful," she muttered, and she was right.

The site in question was the worst of the worst and they knew first hand. During the beginning of R5 Worldwide, the site had launched a full fledged campaign against the band for some unknown reason and their hate was fully concentrated on Stormie and Mark. It was something they never saw coming and they had planned to take action on their asses, but it was never realized. However, the band still refused to give this website anything about them and that definitely included his and Rydel's engagement. He took pride in sending that cease and desist order over using one of their engagement shots that Ross took. It put a smile on his face for days.

He watched her and determined that if she wasn't the most amazing keyboardist in the business, ace student and outstanding dance teacher, she'd so be the top detective in any state. She was persistent about finding something else to discredit them, so her brother's relationship wouldn't be in any kind of jeopardy. Ross, although he'd been in many relationships, had never felt the true nature of gossip blogs who were determined to make money in any way possible and now that he and Laura were together, they were one of the most sought after couples to be reported on. It wasn't like they were Kim and Kanye, Angelina and Brad, or even Nick Jonas and his newest girlfriend, Skyler Samuels, but they were talked about. Ellington really couldn't go a few days without seeing a headline on his phone about Ross and Laura, or just Ross, or just Laura.

He sipped on his cooled down coffee, spitting it out just as he put it in his mouth while he watched Rydel do her thing. What started out as a 'welcome home, you're not leaving my home for a week mentality', was turned into a 'who do we call first about this?' situation. He was banking on Laura. Laura could do something about it more than Ross. Ross, was Ross, and knowing him for more than fifteen years now, he would just get cranky about it all, wanting answers the second the information was divulged. Laura. They'd be calling Laura.

And after pointing out those reasons to his girlfriend, who really wanted to call her brother up, she relented and handed over her phone to him, pressing Laura's name to dial her up so he wouldn't have to. Looks like he was the one delivering bad news today, and that was exactly on his agenda.

Laura Marano Admits Relationship With Ross Lynch Is Fake! Is Raura A Sham? (The Bright Lights Exclusive)

Thesps, our teenage hearts are breaking! One of our favorite couples, Laura Marano and R5 hottie Ross Lynch, are a complete sham, a source exclusively reveals.

Apparently, Laura, who captured our hearts as Ally on Austin & Ally, and shredded it on Scandal, was overheard saying that their relationship is all a publicity stunt for their upcoming movie, Into Thin Air.

"She admitted the sham while in Cannes, where the movie premiered," our source tells us. "They're presenting this full relationship and playing up the part of two people madly in love all for the sake of ticket sales for their blockbuster movie."

We just can't believe this is happening to us! Why?! Laura and Ross were our favorite on screen and off screen couple and we'd be lying if we'd said we weren't rooting for them to get together right after Austin & Ally ended.

"As soon as promo for the movie is over, the relationship will be over," our source added.

So, our week, probably even life, is officially ruined with this news.

What do you think Thesps? Is Raura a sham, or are they truly meant to be?
