30 Days with Fina by JellOfAllTrades
Chapter 2
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing. Grumbling I looked at the caller ID to check who is calling at such an early hour.
Jaime Reynaldo calling..
My best friend, Jaime is also a ladies man. He's just the good boy type that's why he has no trouble getting up early. I accepted the call, my eyelids half-closed.
"Dude, what is fucking wrong with you?" I muttered.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Jaime's husky voice greeted.
"You of all people know that I hate being woken up early."
"Yeah, I know that, pero kasi may problema tayo."
"Ano?"
"Pumunta dito si Andrea, hinahanap ka."
I bolted upright on the mention of the girl's name. "SHIT!"
Andrea is one of my flings back in Manila. I would have considered staying with her longer if it were not only for her uncomfortable clinginess.
"Woke you up, didn't it?" Jaime laughed on the other line. "Anyways, napaalis ko na sya, but I have that feeling she'll be back soon. Kelan ba balik mo?"
I groaned, remembering how long I'm supposed to stay here in Quezon. "A month,"
"Excuse me? Nagkamali ata ako ng dinig, did you say a month?"
"Pinagkaisahan nila ako and now I'm stuck here in Calauag for a whole month."
"Wow," I heard Jaime whistle as he thought of something, he always does that. "Ano nang plano mo? Jan ka muna maghahasik ng lagim?"
"Baliw! Hasik ng lagim ka jan?!"
"Oh really? Ginaganyan mo ako? Dude, we all know na hindi ka basta basta titigil sa pambibiktima ng mga babae."
I rolled my eyes. "Dude, hindi ako pwede maghasik ng lagim o mambiktima or whatever dito kasi pinagbantaan ako nila mommy. Kapag lumandi ako, and I'm telling you, they will know, kukunin nila yung susi ng baby ko."

"WHAT?!"
Jaime knew I like to call my shiny silver Volvo 'baby' and that I love it more than I have ever loved any girlfriend I ever had. Some would have laughed at me but he doesn't because he does the exact same thing with his blue Mustang GT, except he calls it 'love' which is kinda gay for him. But who cares, we both love our cars.
"Anyway, alam mong hindi ko type ang mga probinsyana tapos nung sinabi nilang isang buwan ako dito, I actually reconsidered them for a minute! And then the next thing I know, my mom's telling me I can't find myself a fling kung ayaw kong mawala yung baby ko!" I complained. "Dude, there's a difference between not wanting to and not being able to."
"Your life sucks."
"I know! Bro, anong gagawin ko? Mamamatay ako sa boredom dito!"
"Labas kayo ng mga pinsan mo."
"Magkaiba kami ng lifestyles. If I hang out with them, sa una lang masaya, after some time magsasawa ka din."
"Wala ka bang ibang kaibigan jan?"
I groaned. "Dude, I haven't been here for five years. Wala na akong kakilala dito."
It's been a while since I was here in Calauag and although I remember meeting a chubby girl in the playground, it was a decade ago. I doubt that girl is still around.

8 813Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

Dix, a man whose entire name was a bad joke, thought he’d died and gone to heaven, until reality kicked him in his name again. Sure, he would have a whole new world to explore, one full of magic and adventure, but first he would have to be tested by the gods. They promised the tests weren’t deadly, just painful. If he does well, they might even give him prizes that will make him a target amongst the population of his new world. And the tests of the gods are just the beginning. Follow along as Dix falls back on his tried and true method of making it through life, letting his subconscious do all the work while he looks for girls. It’s not like that led him to his death once before, or anything. And what do you call a life after death anyways? A man too smart for his own good, he is woefully unprepared for what’s coming his way, no matter what he thinks. Trainers, friends, even gods won’t give him enough of a head start for the things people will ask him to do. Despite the odds of survival, he’s got a job to do. Time to get to work.
