《Roommates》Part 10

Tony's POV:
Was I doing the right thing? I needed to tell her but then if I told her, she could get hurt. I had to tell her. She deserved to know considering I had been gone for 10 years! I missed her wedding. I mean, who misses their only daughters wedding because they were stuck in space? Only me apparently. And who misses their first grandchild's birth? Oh yeah. Me again. I had missed out on 10 years of y/n life and I don't intend to miss out on anymore.
I walked up to their door and knocked. I was worried. Would she believe me? Or more importantly, would she listen? Before I could think anymore, the door swung open. "Y/n, please. I will explain everything to you. Just please listen" I said before she could speak. She nodded letting me in. "Go through" y/n whispered while pointing to the living room. I entered and Peter was sat there rocking my granddaughter back and forth. "H...hi" I stuttered. "Mr Stark" Peter replied. "Please, call me Tony". "Um...Dad, what are you doing here?" Y/n asked me sitting down. "I'm here to tell you where I have been for the last 10 years" I responded. "Listen, you don't have to tell us if you don't want to". "Yes I do! I have missed so much in your life. I missed your wedding and I missed the birth of your first child! I owe you an explanation!" I blurted out. Once I said that I couldn't stop. Everything came spilling out.
"So...Thanos is still out there?" Y/n asked after I finished. I nodded and looked at the ground. Thanos kept me in space. He brought all of the Avengers there to bargain with us, but us being us never gave up. How we got back to Earth, I don't know. I'm still trying to work that one out myself. "I'm so sorry darling. I didn't want to tell you as I'm scared all of you will get hurt and after everything that he has done. But you deserved me to tell you that. But I promise, if he comes near any of you, he is dead. I promise to protect you all" I said. Suddenly y/n got up and flung her arms around me. "I'm sorry I pushed you away earlier. I love you loads" She cried into me. I hugged her tightly back. "It's okay. I understand. I love you loads too". She pulled away and walked over to Peter. "Bella, there is someone you haven't met yet" she cooed to my granddaughter as she brung her over. Y/n placed Bella into my arms. "Hello beautiful. I am your Grandad" I cooed while a tear ran down my cheek. I looked at Peter and y/n. "Thank you" I whispered. "Peter, thank you for looking after after my little girl for 10 years and thank you for marrying her. I always wished you would" I giggled at the end. We all laughed. "Your grandma would of loved you" I cooed while crying heavily now. "Wait. Would of?" Y/n stopped and questioned. I looked at her. "You don't know do you?" I said mortified. How could no one of told her? "Dad. What's going on?". She was worried now. "Happy told me he told you". I looked down at the ground. "We haven't seen Happy in years" Peter responded worriedly. I got up and put Bella in her Moses basket. I walked over to y/n and took her hands in mine. I was crying hysterically now. "Th...Thanos um... he killed your mother".

By cold steel and elemental sorcery, they brought peace to a warring land on the brink of destruction. As the flames died, the realm needed strong leadership, and who better than the champions who had saved the kingdom? But when the people sought out their saviors... they vanished. Matt, Blake, Jen, and Carl: the four mysterious companions, who together had deposed an insane ruler and saved countless lives, were gone—spirited back in a whirlwind of magic to a sleepy suburb in Mellbridge, Oregon, never to return. The friends found themselves home in the real world, exactly as they'd been the night they were taken, as if no time had passed... except only three came back. Hi there! This was my entry for National Novel Writing Month, because why only write one series at a time? The more the merrier! (meanwhile, my keyboard bursts into flames...) I'm also the writer of The Last Science, an ongoing low-fantasy/speculative sci-fi series. If you're familiar with that, you know what to expect here: lots of character-focused drama and dialogue, not a whole lot of traditional action. However, I'm writing a bit differently than usual here, and in a very different structure, so there should be some surprises for returning readers. I hope you enjoy it! [Discord] — for those of you who want to hang out and chat. Cover art (fullsize): Path of Revelation, by taenaron (Tobias Roetsch), modified by Etzoli. Normally I like to do my own cover art from scratch, but I was in a rush for the contest. Might be replaced down the line if I get time. 8 146Far Strider
A college student finds himself transported into a strange land with burgeoning magical powers, and is taken in by Ned Stark. Will he sink or swim in this medieval society, and will he ever get home? ====================== OC-insert without knowledge of Game of Thrones, new planeswalker. Slow power ramp. Second crossover: Star Wars (around chapter 39). ======================= As a note, I started this as a speed writing challenge to myself. The challenge was successful, and I managed 100,000+ words (as well as some character sheets in excel and such) over 10.5 days. Then I had to stop and let my hands recover from their burgeoning carpal tunnel syndrome. The story currently stands at around 150,000 words (or ~550 RRL pages) over 54 chapters; expect a chapter a day until I've caught up with the backlog. The focus of this story was not quality writing, and that hasn't changed. I mostly use it as my semi-guilty "I need to write something, but am not focused enough to write something good" story. Expect self-indulgent writing in general, and a bit of OP (or, well, more than just a bit if we're being honest), especially later in the story as the protagonist matures into a more full-blown Planeswalker. But if you're looking for something with a power-ramping protagonist romping around the place, something you'd be a bit embarrassed to admit liking (I know I am) but like anyways (and come on, this is RRL, so that probably describes just about everyone here who actually has shame), then this may be a nice bit of mental junk food for you.
