《Hurts So Good》Chapter 7 | Locked Up

He is insane. He definitely is.
After that incident at the club, he started to ignore me once again... it's not that I was dying to talk to him and later, he didn't let me step out of the house for the whole weekend. For a whole two days I was stuck up in this penthouse with his grumpy ass.
Because the Caligos were roaming out there, this time in heavy numbers so he kept me locked up inside his penthouse.
I was dying for some human interaction with someone other than my so called bodyguard/husband. Plus he wasn't talking to me either, does he plan on making me go mad?
It was Sunday evening and I was literally sulking as I slumped down on the couch infront of the TV and picking up my phone, I dialled dad's number.
I didn't even give him a chance to speak when he picked up the call. "Are you planning on making me depressed?"
"What?" He sounded genuinely confused.
"Do you think locking me up for days will be any good for my health?"
"What are you talking about, Farren?"
"He's not letting me leave the house! I'm locked up here like a prisoner! I will go fucking insane if this continues!"
"It's for your protection only. You step out of the house and they will kill you."
"Isn't that why you got me married to that asshole? So that he can keep me safe, so that I can go out freely?"
"Yeah...but..."
"No but! Tell him to take me out somewhere before I run out of here alone!" And I hung up the call before he could reply.
Speaking of that asshole, where the hell is he even?
Leaving my phone on the couch, I got up and started to look for him upstairs first, in the bedroom but it was empty and so was the bathroom.
Huffing, I went back downstairs. I swear if he left me here all alone and was roaming outside, I will chop off his balls and feed it to him for sure.
I roamed around the house and came across a door which I hadn't explored before and I slowly pushed opened the door and realised that it was actually a gym. A huge one.
And in the middle of which was Elysian doing push ups while counting them and he faced away from the door so he didn't notice my presence there.

"...49...50...51..."
And...
He was...
Shirtless.
His body was glistening with sweat, he had broad shoulders and a sexy looking back and I am sure he has abs too which unfortunately I couldn't see at the moment. Holy shit.
Slight drool collected on the corner of my mouth and gulping, I wiped it away.
No. No. No. Focus, Farren, focus. He's your enemy, you are supposed to hate him not drool over him.
He might be my enemy but I still need to see his front, to see his abs and his chest so, I finally interrupted him.
"...60...61--"
"Hey there, asshole."
I watched as he paused midway and his body tensed and he slowly turned his head to look at me over his shoulder.
He was up on his feet in a instant but he kept his back to me and he seemed to be looking for something. "What are you doing here?"
"Isn't it my house too now...so I can roam freely anywhere, can't I?"
He started to move to the corner of the room where his t shirt was lying on the floor. Aargh. Can't you just turn around?! "What do you want?"
"For you to turn around." I blurted out and regretted it immediately.
He once again glanced at me over his shoulder, his brows furrowed. "Excuse me?"
Okay, I need to make up an excuse. Think.
"Um..." I cleared my throat. "I... hate it...when people don't talk to me while looking at me...so...um...turn around..." Awesome.
"Give me a second." He replied and bent down to pick up his t shirt and pulled it over his head.
Asshole.
And he finally turned around having covered his body with his t shirt. What is his problem? Don't boys love to flaunt their bodies? Can't he do that too?
"Yes? What do you want?" He asked dryly.
What do I want? What did I come here for? I came here with a purpose which I forgot as soon as I saw him shirtless.
"Umm... I..."
Focus!
Okay.
"What I was here for is that you are going to take me out right now or I am going to jump off the window!"
He picked up a towel lying nearby and ran it over his neck. "You seem to have a special love for jumping off the balconies. Have you tried it before? Is it fun?"

My nostrils flared and tried to ignore his statement. "Are you taking me out or not?"
"No. It's dangerous." And he threw the towel on the floor and walked past me and out of the gym and I stomped behind him.
"Don't be ridiculous. I will go insane if I stay here all alone!"
He refused to look at me and started to climb the stairs. "You aren't alone. You have me."
"And you are proving to be a wonderful company", I drawled sarcastically.
"The house is equipped with a television and you have a phone and they both provide a lot of entertainment, go use them." He said reaching upstairs.
It looks like I have to pull the last trick in my bag. "Okay...as you wish. I think I will just leave alone and go out clubbing with my friends since you aren't taking me out yourself."
And he suddenly halted making me bump into him. What is he made of? Bricks? Ouch, my nose hurts. I took a step back and rubbed my nose as he turned around to stare down at me.
"You will do no such thing."
I gave him an innocent smile. "Watch me." And I turned around to leave and he caught my wrist and pulled me back making me stumble into his chest.
"Farren." His eyes raged down at me. "Learn to obey me, it's for your benefit."
"Then take me somewhere! I have never stayed inside the house for so long!" All the past few days frustrations that were building up inside me threatened to spill out as tears welled up in my eyes.
His jaw ticked and his hold around my wrist loosened a bit but I stayed where I was, his eyes were scrutinizing my face. "I don't know what to do when someone cries, so stop crying."
With my other hand, I shoved at his chest. "How fucking comforting. Leave me."
"Farren..." For the first time ever, I heard him talk to me in such a gentle tone, it was so gentle that it tugged at my heart. He lifted his hand and ever so gently, he brushed his thumb over my eyes wiping away my tears.
He released my wrist and I moved away from him and going inside the bedroom, I locked it.
He knocked on it ten seconds later. "Farren, listen to me."
"Leave me alone!" I shouted back.
"Don't you dare think of jumping off the balcony!" He warned.
"Your room doesn't even have a fucking balcony, asshole!"
I heard him sighing loudly. "I am grateful for that once. Don't do anything stupid." And then I heard his retreating footsteps.
Did he seriously just leave me like this? I thought he would take some pity in me and take me out. What the hell.
.
.
.
"It's enough now, open up the door." Elysian banged on the door.
"Go sleep downstairs instead, asshole."
"For fuck's sake, Farren stop acting like a child. You are twenty five years of age!"
"I will act like however I wish to, you can go fuck yourself."
"Jesus. You really have a foul mouth."
"As if you don't curse yourself."
"Not as much as you."
"I don't care."
"Open the door." And he sighed and said in a forced gentle tone, "Please."
I can't believe I share a bed with him every night...I mean I was going to order a couch or something but then I forgot about it and also...I kind of got used to sharing a bed with him, so it's not a problem now.
But not tonight.
Huffing, I glared at the door.
Where did he go though? It's too silent. But who cares.
Just as I was about to slump down on the bed, the doorknob started to turn and I could hear the lock clicking and the door was soon opened and in walked a furious looking Elysian.
He had a small key type thing in his hand. "I know how to pick locks so don't pull this trick ever again."
I puffed up my cheeks in anger and ignoring me he went inside the bathroom and emerged a minute later, having changed his clothes to a pair of grey sweatpants and a t shirt and he laid down on his side of the bed and pulled the duvet over himself.
"Goodnight, wifey." He muttered in a sarcastic way.
I gritted my teeth. "Asshole."
