《How To: Survive Teenagehood》40/ A Chapter In Which I Save Your Academic Career

School is fun. All those pieces of paper, mounting homework, tests constantly looming, extracurriculars to juggle, and as well as that there's always drama somewhere. Organising your life at school can seem like it's never gonna happen. You tell yourself that you can survive by just taking each day as it is. And I'm here to say that you're wrong.
Organisation will save your school life. Ever look at those smart kids who seem to have their life together? Want to know how they have their life together? Organisation.
I'd like to point out that I'm a pretty lazy person, so all these tips require next to zero effort meaning you have NO excuse not to follow them.
Here are my go-to tips if you want to stay organised at school. Lego.
1. File dividers are a godsend. Use them. Your file shouldn't just be a dump in which you fling all your random-ass pieces of paper into.
2. Take a picture of your timetable and make sure you can access it easily (set it as your lock screen if you want to be extra). No one has time to look through their bag to find a flimsy bit of paper.
3. Invest in a planner. I cannot stress how important this is. You need to be writing down all the stuff you have to do.
4. To-do lists are also very useful. Make them as basic or detailed as you want them to be and make sure you include everything. Need to pack your swimming bag? Write it on your to-do list. I promise you you'll forget about it until it's too late.
5. Pack your bag the night before. It takes one minute at most, and it stops you forgetting important things when your half-asleep the next morning.
6. If you have to read some pages of your text book for class, just take pictures of them at school rather than taking your whole textbook home. Chances are you'll either leave your textbook at school so you can't read the pages, or you'll leave your textbook at home and get berated by your teacher at school for forgetting it.

7. Make your revision notes as you go. At the end of each week (or day depending on how much time you have) make your revision notes by condensing all the new things you learnt in that day from the subjects you did into note form. This will save you so much time when it comes to actual exams.
8. Buy a wall calendar if you're really disorganised. This means you can write on everything you have coming up and you'll never forget anything because it's on your motherf&@king wall.
9. Always carry a pen. It's a simple tip but a very effective one. Oh, another essential- always carry a hair tie. You'll always need one when you don't have one.
10. Do you work the minute you get home. Don't start watching YouTube videos on your phone, or going on Snapchat until you've done all your work. Then you can spend your whole evening doing whatever you want to without worrying about your work. Never leave your homework undone for more than one day.
Hopefully, if you implement any of these tips, you will suddenly find that school is a lot easily to cope with and manage. I use all of these on a regular basis, and I find that my life is a little less stressful.
