"What are you doing?"
The truth was I didn't know what I was truly doing.
Physically, I was just standing in front of a window, watching the cars pass by. Mentally, I was everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
"Niall, these things take awhile. Sit down, relax, and breathe. For me, please?" Harry puts his hand on my lower back, gently kissing my temple.
I sigh and sit down on a plastic chair, lightly scratching my forearm. He sits down beside me, rubbing up and down my back and trailing his fingers down my spine. His hand alone relaxes me but not enough for me to not worry.
This isn't even the start and I'm already nervous.
"I love you, you know?"
I nod and look at him, resting my head on his shoulder. "I love you, too."
He kisses the top of my head as I watch people pass by in a rush. Its all so white it's becoming a blur. It doesn't matter, I just want this to be over with.
✿
"Gentlemen." A woman smiles gleefully, her hands neatly placed in front of her.
Harry stands up, already beginning to walk towards her direction. He stops when he sees I'm not following him.
"You comin', Niall?" He ask, a wanting look on his face.
"Yeah, but, I'm not going in there, I'll just wait outside." Harry smiles wider, grabbing my hand and practically pulling me through the white halls.
We pass groaning and sneezing. After every room we pass, I get more anxious to be in here and shivers just go up my spine. I hate this place. We go up elevators and pass what seems like thousands of rooms. Out of all of them, there's only one room that really matters.
"Wait out here, alright? Are you sure you want this? We don't have-" I press my lips to his, smiling through the kiss.
"Harry. I want this." I smile, rubbing my thumb across his cheek. He has no idea how much I've wanted this. He grins, giving me small kisses all around my face. I giggle and push him away. "Get in there," he winks at me, pushing through the doors.
My heart swells as I sit down on another plastic chair.
✿
After a painful 8 hours with Harry not coming out, I might in fact burst. My head will explode and I will just be happy because it exploded. I will die alone but, happy. My ears might be gone before I do, though.
I pace in front of my chair, scratching my forearm. I think I made a path through the tiles. I think Harry is dead. Riley probably choked him to death. Or broke his hand. Or both.

Finally, Harry pushes open those stupid-non-noise-proof doors, his cheeks pink and his eyes red. As he walks over, he hiccups, a depressing cast upon his face.
Oh no.
"Niall... " I begin to tear up, covering my mouth with my hand.
"Niall... she made it." Harry beams.
I smack the side of his head and rush into the room, seeing her lie there, a glow on her skin.
"She's beautiful," Riley says, sniffling as she holds a bundle of towels. She looks up at me and laughs, motioning me toward her.
I take small steps, hearing the door open. I stop when I'm beside the bed. The bundle of joy between the towels has soft, rosy, chubby cheeks. I choke- she is beautiful.
"Take her," Riley says, lifting the baby a bit. I take her into my arms, her little eyes opening, bright blue like the sky. I'm trying so hard to not cry but, it's hard when your throat is tight and you keep sniffling.
She's so beautiful, so so so so so beautiful. This moment- this moment is what keeps me going. I burst into cries, happiness flowing onto my cheeks.
My baby girl cries with me, as if she were to mock me.
"Shhh, shhh, it's okay, I'm not crying- crying cause I'm-I'm sad." I sniffle and laugh, gently kissing her forehead, bouncing up and down lightly. She calms down again and giggles.
"You're a natural," Riley says softly, lightly squeezing my arm.
"Thank you," I whisper, not only cause she said that but, also because she gave me a miracle. A miracle I will never let go.
"What do you want to name her?" Harry ask, standing behind me, his chest nuzzled against my back.
"Grace." I answer, giving Grace back to Riley.
"After my mother?" Harry squeaks, turning me around with force to look him in the eye. I nod and wait for him to respond, hoping it's not too much to ask. He doesn't smile or frown, he just pulls me into a tight hug and murmers, 'thank you' into my ear. I hug him back with the same strength, knowing how much that means to him.

"Daddy, daddy, say daddy," Niall says, raising his voice and clapping his hands together as his daughter, Grace, giggles in front of him. "I swear, she was saying it earlier." Niall pouts as Harry pats his back. Niall glances at Harry and gives him a half smile. Grace wears a small pink onsie, with a white headband that controls her short and thin brown hair.
"I'm sure she was." David says sarcastically from his chair, laughing. Niall turns and glares at David. Bonnie sits idly in his lap, her eyes closed.

"Don't make me come over there," Niall replies, pointing his finger at David. David just laughs and rolls his eyes playfully. Niall wouldn't do anything to David even if he tried, they both knew that, but it was always fun to get on Niall's nerve. Harry picks up Grace, blubbering gibberish to her. The room falls silent, except for Grace's giggles.
Riley walks into the room, popping open a beer, sitting on a bar stool. "I still haven't heard the story of how you guys met."
David snorts loudly, throwing his head back.
"What?" Riley asks, taking sips here and there of her beer.
"Nothing- it's just they hated each other for awhile." Riley raises her eyebrow, looking towards the couple for an explanation.
"He spilt coffee on my shirt!"
"He wouldn't take off his shirt!"
Niall and Harry exclaim at the same time, pointing fingers at each other. They both laugh afterwards, Niall slapping away Harry's finger. Riley just chuckles, still confused as ever. All she knows is they sure don't hate each other now.
"Dadda," Grace giggles, clapping her hands together. Niall jumps up, his mouth agape.
"See? I told you all and you didn't believe me." Niall precedes to stink his tongue at David. Niall puts his hands on his hips in glory, like he knew she was going to do that. David smiles and shakes his head.
"That's just being lucky."
"I am lucky, aren't I?" Niall beams, looking up at his husband holding his beautiful miracle.
✿
Niall stares into the night sky, waiting for Harry to come back with Grace from her bath.
He wonders if the stars had actually granted him his wish or knocking into Harry was just a crazy coincidence. He had never asked Harry if he believed in that kind of superstition, the thought to talk about it never came up and he doesn't think it ever will.
Harry had been wondering the same thing as he dried Grace with a towel. He doesn't believe in that but, after that night, he's always been suspicious of it.
Niall sighs, knowing he'll never get his answer.
Niall practically glows when he hears Harry talking in his girly voice and Grace's giggle ringing through the halls. Grace dashes through the bedroom doorway, hiding underneath the covers of the bed. Harry comes stomping down the hallway. He peeks his head into the bedroom, staring at Niall.
"Where did my little girl go?" Harry sings, Grace's muffled laugh being heard. Harry walks through the bedroom, whistling as he goes, checking all the obvious spots to hide.
"Well she's not in here... Dad, do you know where she went?" Harry ask Niall.
"I don't know what little girl you're speaking about," Niall shrugs. The bed sheets move.
Harry winks at Niall before walking over to the bed, clutching the mound of bed sheets, a squeal emitting from underneath.
"Aha! I got the lass," Harry laughs and tickles Grace as best as he can from the top of the sheets. The mound yelps, laughs, and thrashes all around. Harry goes under the covers and grabs Grace, taking her out and carrying her with his arms beneath her legs and shoulders.
"Do you want the washing machine?" Harry says, swinging her gently up and down.
"No!" Grace shouts, laughing as she scrambles to get out of her dad's grip.
"Was that a yes I heard?"
"No! Dad help me!" She tries to hold Harry's hands to keep them from giving her the dreaded washing machine.
"Who's Dad?" Niall laughs, standing up to walk over to them.
"I think she wants the washing machine, what do you think?" Harry puts Grace on the bed.
"No!"
"Yes!" Niall tickles Grace on her stomach, Grace immediately bursting into shrieks. Harry joins in, all three of them laughing until they can't breath. All their cheeks become flushed with a rosy red.
After the three of them settle down, they lie side by side, a fond grin gleaming on all their faces.
Bonnie jumps on the bed, pouncing on Harry's stomach, making him groan and the other two laugh. Soon enough, they're all laughing together again.
"Alright, alright, it's time for bed now." Niall says when they all calm down, making Grace and Harry pout.
"Fine," Harry says, sitting upright. He turns to Grace, "wanna sleep in your room?" She shakes her head, "wanna sleep with us?" She grins and nods her head so fast it may just fall off. Grace crawls under the sheets, patting both sides of her. Harry and Niall go under the sheets with her, Bonnie snuggling under the sheets also.
"It's a Grace sandwich," Niall blurts, making Grace giggle.
"Goodnight you two," Harry says, exaggerating the kiss he places on Grace's head. Grace groans and pretends to wipe off his kiss. Niall gives her a kiss on the other side, Grace doing the same thing to that side.
"Night Papa, night Daddy," Grace whispers, yawning shortly afterwards. She closes her eyes, a warm feeling in her heart.
"Goodnight, baby girl." Niall whispers, his arm extending over her to put his hand on Harry's waist. Harry softly smiles, mouthing, 'I love you' to Niall. 'I love you', Niall mouths back in response, earning another prize winning smile.
They fall asleep, always wanting another tomorrow to come along.
The End.
