David walks in the park with a black coffee in between his hands and a killer head ache in his mind. He yawns before taking a seat on a bench, closing his eyes.

He thinks back to last night, all the drinking he did. I'm never drinking again, he thinks, though he never mans up to that promise. He'll go back to drinking this weekend and say, "never drinking again," drink, "never drinking again," repeat.

As he begins to regret some of his mistakes, someone clears their throat in front of him before they speak, "that's my, that's my spot."

David looks up and squints, "I was 'ere first, you don't own this seat."

"I sit, sit here everyday, everyday, everyday. Therefore, my seat, seat."

David was confused about this blonde headed boy, I mean, there was another bench perfect for sitting right next to him. "Look, bud. You better fix that stuttering problem of yours before you start demanding others around, it's not very intimidating."

Niall's nose flares up, "it's not a, not a stuttering problem. I have a very serious, very serious, condition, condition."

David takes quick breaths through his nose, trying not to laugh, "what? Stuttering-ism?" He laughs, slapping his knee. Oh, my jokes will never get old.

Niall closes his eyes, feeling his face heat up like a summers day. He slowly counts in his head, 1... 2... 3...

"Look, bud, this is my spot and I swear, I swear, I will make you get out of that spot if you don't do it yourself," yourself, yourself.

"I doubt that."

"I don't, I don't."

"I do."

"I don't"

"I do."

"I don't, I don't, I don't."

"I don't."

"I do, I do" Niall says before slamming his hand against his forehead, "I don't."

"I do."

Nialls brain suddenly clicks from angry to sad. "C'mon please, please, just let me have my spot," Niall begs, hoping the man will give in to a begging fellow instead of a fuming one. Niall is not in the mood to deal with people like this today, he just wants his seat.

David finally gives in, seeing the boy going through so much distress for one park bench makes him think the boy won't give up until he gets it. May be he does have an actual problem.

He only goes to the other side of the bench but Niall takes it.

"So what's your name? And why did you want this seat so bad?"

"Niall. I sit in it everyday, everyday."

David waits for the usual common curtesy of a conversation but gets none. "Well I'm David." Niall just stares at the playground. David sighs before speaking again, "if I may ask, why do you stutter?"

"OCD." He simply replies, looking down at his hands. Niall often doesn't reveal his sickness, though, with David, he gets a vibe he won't judge. As harshly.

All of a sudden David feels horrible. No wonder Niall was getting upset about a seat, it was his routine. No wonder Niall stutters and doesn't really know how to react in social situations. David has a cousin that has OCD, he understands how it is. He almost face palms himself by not actually seeing it sooner. He just thought may be the guy was acting for a seat.

"Hey, Niall, I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't know," David apologizes, hoping to make it better.

Niall shrugs it off, muttering an 'it's okay' before staring out into space.

"Do you..have any friends?"

"No." Niall sighs, looking back at the sky. He wishes he had friends, he wishes he could be normal. So many things Niall has wishes for on a star, and none has come true yet.

"Well, come on, bud. It's time to see the world with your new friend." David smiles brightly, standing up and putting out his hand.

Niall's face brightens, a huge smile coming across his face before he thinks rationally and becomes solemn again. "I'd rather not, rather not, touch your, your hand nor break routine."

David knows it will be hard for him, but he's just trying to help, especially after he saw his face brighten like a teenager seeing pizza. "Come on, if you get really bad anxiety I'll take you back home, I promise, or wherever you want to"

Niall looks up at David, contemplating the pros and cons of the situation.

What's the worst that could happen?

"You ever been to a bar, Niall?"

Niall shakes his head in response, looking up at the neon sign. Honestly, he never has wanted to go to a bar, what's the big deal? Sweaty people, vomit induced bathrooms, and music thumping so loud you couldn't even hear the person next to you, what's fun about that?

"Good," David says before walking inside, Niall following like a lost puppy.

Niall looks at some of the fellows at the bar before wishing he didn't come here, it's not very clean. It's not as bad as he thought, no music, no sweaty people on the dance floor; yet, and there aren't that many drunks aimlessly walking around. Most likely because it's earlier in the day and its the middle of the week. But still, it smells like sweat.

"Yo, Harold! I met a new friend today!" David yells across the room, seeing the head full of curls behind the counter.

Harry looks up towards the voice, not surprised it's David's. He's about to roll his eyes before he sees a blonde headed boy who looks like he's about to faint. He wants to go over to them but instead goes back to attending the dishes. Today is not the day for David.

Niall instantly recognizes the face and name, wanting to walk out right now and go home. Why does my one friend have to be friends with this jerk? Of all people?

David sits on a bar stool, patting the seat next to him, Niall skeptically sits on it, praying to God the seat was cleaned earlier.

"Why the long face?" David ask, resting his chin in the palm of his hand.

"Don't act like you don't know, be smart and think for once." Harry grumbles, not once looking towards the couple.

David pouts and thinks for a few moments before widening his eyes as the puzzle clicks together. "Oh shìt man, I forgot."

Niall is completely at a lost, trying to think what day it was then think if there's a holiday or something's special about today.

Harry prays silently that David doesn't spit it o-

"Your parents died today, right?"

Niall's jaw drops whilst Harry tenses and grips on to the sink, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths.

"Wait, no, today was just your mums death, right?" David keeps blurting out horrible things, although all true, he doesn't seem to get when he's supposed to shut up. "Is it a month from now that your dad over-"

Niall immediately shoves David over, causing him to fall out of the seat with a 'what the h'. Niall may not know much about body language but he can tell Harry had about enough. That, and also a familiar feeling of despair with the family.

Harry puts down the rag into the sink and storms off, going into the employee room before coming out and going out the door.

"I went a little too far, didn't I?"
