《The Unexpected [M.E]》5

The car drive back to Laura's mother's house was quiet. Matthew knew he had crossed a line with Laura. She was pissed; hurt. She was practically on the verge of tears because of this gorgeous yet irritating guy. She felt like screaming at him.
And Matthew felt that too. He knew that she couldn't stand him right now, so all he did was stay quiet and let her lead the way back to get his car.
Finally reaching their destination, Laura turns off the engine and sits back, exhaling a breath.
Matthew goes over things he wants to say to Laura. Be he can't find the exact words. He feels guilty. He's never felt this much guilt in his life, since he over fead his goldfish and it died.
He cracked a small smile. "You know. When I was on tour, I over fead my goldfish and it died." Laura gave a small smile and laughed a bit. "You're so random.. what does that have to do with me being pissed at you?" She only shook her head and looked ahead at her old childhood street. He sighed quietly to himself.
He honestly didn't know what to say, and Laura was going over her thoughts. Maybe I'm being too hard on him. It's not his fault that he was extra talented and the internet liked him better. It's not his fault that my feelings towards him are growing every damn second. It's not his fault that maybe he doesn't like me. Whatever. Laura's mine whirled and as she processed reality she heard him say he was sorry and saw him leave her car and get inside his own; leaving to where ever.

"Dusty I need you to come over. We need to work on a video." Laura took another spoonful of nutella and her eyes rolled to the back of her head. This is heaven indeed.

"I'm busy though," Dusty replied annoyed.
"Seriously!" Laura groaned. "We haven't updated a video in a month. Please Dusty? Plus I have a great idea,"
Dusty snorts on the other end. "Yeah? Like what? Absolutely random shit and ending up posting a weird ass video like last time?" Laura grins.
"Oh please. We both know those videos are the best. I bet our viewers laughed their anus' off." She closed the jar of nutella and walked to the kitchen, putting it back in the fridge. She leaned on the counter listening to her best friend whine about how much she doesn't want to come over.
"Dude please, just come and see my new house then," Laura huffs and crosses her eyes.
"Fine."
"Yay! Bring food, and dude don't bring jello like last time. I don't like it a lot."
"How can you not like jello?" Laura grins. "I'm a unicorn, and unicorns don't like jello. Now bring pizza dear child!"
It was forever but Laura knew the wait was worth the cheesy delight. When Dusty finally made it, she showed her around her new complex and then devoured the pizza. Being stuff; they decided to post a vine instead.
After fooling around and mumbling nonsense words, both Laura and Dusty decided to look up music as they sat down.
"Wait look up, Shine by Years and Years, that band is friggin ah-amazing!" Laura just shook her head at her best friend a grin taking place on her lips. "Weird much? Yes. Yes you are." She chuckled while patting Dusty on the head.
"Don't worry child, you're not weirder than me."
Dusty just huffed and then the doorbell rang. Laura nudged Dusty by her leg. "Get the door, servent." She smirked as she looked up the song. Dusty just mumbled a profanity and got up and opened the door.
"Matt?"
Note: I'm so so sorry for the short chapter. I just wanted to update this book. And plus not many people are reading it right now so it's not as demanded as my others so please forgive the short ass chap. All the love x

Contact First
2039 - Earth A narrow beam energy signal appeared aimed squarely at earth from the TRAPPIST system. The communication consisted of a layered set of repeating data over several thousand wavelengths. Over the next few months scientists discovered that the lower wavelengths carried an encoded numerical language which could then be used to interpret the more complicated messages carried on the higher wavelengths. After half a year of painstaking work the signal was fully decoded. It described a small satellite launched along a precise trajectory towards the fourth planet of our solar system. Included was a package of advanced research that humanity would need to have ready in order to receive the satellite and decelerate it safely. The alien data provided the kick that humanity needed to turn from petty squabbling and unite to explore the final frontier. Major government and corporate leaders worked together to create the framework for the United Federation of Sol. UFS spaceports went from scaffolding to daily launches in every major city around the globe. Ships floated like dandelion seeds, spreading on solar wind to grow into colonies. 2397 - Mars orbit, Egeria Station The command center was a hive of activity as checks were conducted and systems initialized. Scientists flitted by like mayflies as communicators beeped and holoscreens spat out green tinted readouts. Nervous energy was thick in the air as everyone anticipated the culmination of over three hundred years of work. Massive fusion reactors under the planet's surface thrummed with barely restrained power as energy fed into a gleaming metallic maze criss crossing the planet. Metal fingers reached up, overshadowing the mighty olympus mons and trying to grab the stars. All over the solar system, people quickly turned to look as gigantic energy lances shot from the dusty fourth planet. Two years later. The same people that clapped loudly at the successful activation of project Hermes now wait with baited breath. A silver capsule trailing bright photonic sails is captured by a net of grav beams and guided with care bordering on reverence into the station. Holoscreens across the headquarters project an image of the sleek craft settling in the bay. Data connections are established and the holoscreens blink to white. Slowly an image forms on the screen. Across the headquarters people stare in wonder as a wholly alien face stares back. "Contact established. Welcome to the universe."

Wrong Side of The Severance
In the waning times of a costly war that spanned several firmaments, one world that was supposed to be cherished by the gods was cast to the wayside, and from everyone’s minds. This world - Berodyl - had flourished under the tender love of the gods for millennia… but no longer. Berodyl stood ready to aid the gods in their strife, but when the time came, the armies of this world never heard the call. They never even saw the battlefield. No. Instead, they found that, once the war had begun, the hierophants no longer heard the whispers of their sacred deities whom they had served so faithfully; only silence now filled the halls of their temples. Some even came from beyond Berodyl’s firmament to take to the sides of those who would fight for the gods. Alas, they soon found themselves stranded in a land abandoned— now, too, abandoned themselves. Now there is but one question weighing down on everyone: can a world such as this - a world once loved, now alone - survive with nought but its own? For an outlander such as Livia, the question seems nearly impossible to answer. The first book of The World The Gods Forgot.

Winter Sovereign
Serra Recquir, a boy born in the world of Sierra, was born with weak and with mediocre talent. Despite the odds, he pursued the path of cultivation. He faced numerous trials, deadly foes and great friends. Eventually, he stepped into the world of the Divine Realm. Breaking past the limits of the world and traveling to higher planes. After millions of years, he finally reached the summit. Becoming a Sovereign Paragon. Longing for the world he left countless years ago, he finally returns to his own world. Author's Note: This story is different from other wuxia novels. If those novels focus on characters that struggle from the bottom and reach the top, this story is one where someone already reached the top. I figured it would be interesting to start a novel from this concept so I started it. Well, however this plays through, just like how I finished my previous novel, Doll's Smile, I'll finish this novel too. Of course, I'm writing this novel just for fun. I like to write lighthearted novels like this. Novels that I would read while listening to music and eating snacks on a pleasant and relaxing afternoon. Do forgive me if I'm slow in writing.
