《The Unexpected [M.E]》3

Laura was finding it incredibly hard to pack as she found herself thinking about Mathew so much. He started clouding her mind more and more by passing time, and was slightly annoyed at the beautiful guy that had her heart.
After their small incounter last night, they said they'd all meet up again. "Like good old days." He'd said. She was excited for the future day out with him. With her old best friend.
Laura finally packed the rest of her things in the last box. She looked around her room for a while. Her childhood room. The room she had slept in since she could remember. All different memories started flooding back.
She remembered one memory that was unforgettable. It was when Dusty, Mathew and her were doing their YouTube video. They decided to do some type of baby food challenge and she remembered how Dusty would almost vomit at the taste, while Laura and Mathew quite enjoyed the taste of the baby food.
She smiled and grabbed the box, leaving her room and closing her childhood away to adultery. To a new beginning. To a new life of independence and doing things and living the way she wanted. No mother telling her what she should or should not do. No more rude or crude remarks from her mother when she'd do something that she liked, that she pleased.
No. This was Laura's new beginning. This was her time to show her mother and who ever ever doubted her, that she can be what she wants. And she can be independent.
Laura saw her mom sitting on the couch, reading one of those, Cosmo magazines, not having a care in the world.
She scoffed. Some damn mother. Laura thought to her self.
"So that's it?" Her mother called, as she made it to the door. "No goodbye?" Laura turned around and saw her reflection. But the inside, she'll never be like her. "Goodbye." She stated bluntly, sarcasm kind of mixed in her bluntness and hollowness. Her mothers dark eyes were cold. "This is a wrong choice, Laura." Laura smirked, "No, this would be a wrong choice, if I stayed." Natalia rolled her eyes, clearly not pleased that her own daughter didn't appreciate what she did for her. "You still, will never be grateful." Natalia felt some type of sadness that her own daughter was leaving her. "I'm not grateful? You're the one that became cold after dad walked out on us." Laura regretted the words the second they left her mouth, but there was no stopping anything as her mother turned on her heal, walking up the stairs.

Laura's shoulders slumped, and she felt guilty. No matter what was the cause, no matter how the other person was at fault, Laura would always feel guilty. Like she was the one that did wrong.
Leaving her old house, more like her mother's house, she went to her car, stuffing the last box in the back seat, and closing the door shut. "Hey there," Laura jumped at the sound. But her heart jumped more when she recognized the voice. His voice.
She turned to her right and saw his tall figure blocking the sunlight. Damn he's gotten taller. Laura thought to her self. "Hi," She said back. She was examining his features. The way his hair was pushed back completely, but it didn't really have any type of product on it. His skin was legitimately flawless and she wanted to know his secret. She looked at his eyes. His eyes that she could get lost in. Eyes that could hold secrets and not tell a soul. Eyes that made her feel things like no one could.
"It's been so long, Laura." His deep raspy voice was something to get used to. She only remembered the way it sounded like a girl when he was fourteen. But that long ago, and they were older now.
Puberty did this child good. Holy baby Jesus.
"It has," She replied shortly. She didn't really know what to say to him. "So how is everything, and all that jazz? Ya know, graduating the big H and life..." Laura leaned against her car, folding her arms over her chest. "Everything is going alright, I'm moving out. And yeah, high school was legit hell, but hey, I made it through," He smiled. "I'm glad."
She nodded, her stomach flipping at the sight of his smile. "And you? How's uh, you know your career and stuff?" He chuckled. "Its good, quite busy though, barely have time for myself,"

"That sucks," She said. He agreed. "It sucks monkey anus," Her eyes widened and she let out a loud laugh. "Oh God, haven't heard that in a while," He laughed with her, nodding his head.
"Yeah, it's been quite the time, Lo." She stopped her laughter. She stopped breathing for that matter. The second he said her nickname, it was all coming back to her. She missed him like hell, and he wouldn't understand what he did. How he left them. Left her.
"You left us, Matt." Mathew's shoulders slumped and he dug his large hands into his pocket. He bit his lip, "I...I know. I'm sorry, but I'm back," His smile he gave Laura was hopeful. Perhaps the kind that would make you forgive a person when they'd done wrong. But Laura-- she didn't know if she'd forgive him. "Yeah." She said. "You're back. But you'll leave again,"
Mathew stepped forward, he brushed Laura's black cascade hair off her shoulders, his eyes boring into hers. "I won't," He whispered. "Not this time."
Laura felt like she'd lost the feeling in her fingertips, at the proximity of them being so close. She wanted to feel every part of him against her, but she couldn't and all she could do was nod her head, hoping he meant what he said. "Alright."
Mathew nodded his head, and inhaled a breath, a smile taking on his features completely.
"So where you heading to with all these boxes?"
Did he forget that I'd said I was moving out? Laura that to her self.
Laura took in a huge breath, grinning widely. "I'm moving dear sir," Matthew chuckled. "May I come tag along to see this great place?"
Inhale, exhale.

Hattoran Chronicle
There is a hostile sky above me. Man will never conquer space. He may live in it, but he will never conquer it. The sky above is void, and very black, and very hostile. -- Joseph Kittinger A pair of extragalactic supersoldiers are betrayed and stranded in the Milky Way at the end of the 29th century, potentially shaking the balance of power within the galaxy, but there's far more going on than anyone realizes.
