"What?" I eyed Ghost Boy with utter bewilderment.

"You know you really need to get your hearing checked-" -I cut him off mid sentence.

"I mean why? And FYI my hearing is perfectly fine"

"Oh we have to talk to someone" he replied casually, sounding vague.

"Huh?"

"Could you just stop asking questions and listen to me for a change. I promise you that you are going to get rid of me soon." he cried out.

"You are the one who possessed my teacher and got me out of the class! I have a right to know what's going on!"

"Do you always have to be so exasperating?" Look who's talking.

"It takes one to know one", I reply nonchalantly.

Having had enough I drove off to my place with the delinquent ghost beside me.

.........................

I looked at the mirror giving my outfit an once-over.

"Okay let's go", I replied.

"You are wearing that to a wedding? It won't even take them a minute to guess that you are crashing a wedding"

I was dressed in a black hoodie and acid washed jeans. I turned around to argue with him, resting my hands on my hips.

"I thought it will help us blend".

He wasn't convinced and I wasn't so sure myself.

"Yeah, wearing a black hoodie and looking like a grim reaper will totally camouflage you" he scoffed.

Okay he was right but not about the fact that I looked like a grim reaper.

"Then you can go by yourself" I replied with a sarcastic smile just to mess with him.

"What?! No you need to go" he cried out.

"I am sorry okay? Let's go--Please" He added the last bit seeing that I wasn't convinced while running his hand through his tousled hair in frustration. Ghost boy sounded really desperate. I wonder what could this be about to get this devil-may-care ghost so fraught.

"Okay.. But I still can't go" I replied lamely.

"What? Why?" He crossed his arms over his chest in frustration which made his muscles bulge out. He was dressed in his signature wife beater and jeans.

"I don't own a dress okay?"

"You have got to be kidding me right? Girls are supposed to own dresses" he said sighing in aggravation.

I did own quite a few dresses but devouring pizzas and ice cream for the last few weeks caused me to earn a few centimeters around my waist so after trying on the dresses I decided to opt for my trusty old black hoodie. I don't necessarily have to attend the wedding right? Just be around it.

"Well I don't" I lied.

Things to do:

Lose 8 pounds!

"Ask that friend of yours or something?" he suggested.

"You mean Sophie?"

"Yeah the one whose hair makes me want to barf rainbows"

"Her hair is really cool okay?" I replied clearly offended by his comment on Sophie's hair. "But I don't know- Isn't it going to be a little weird?"

"Oh for God's sake-Do you girls have a rule for when to borrow dresses?" Okay now he was really losing it.

"Fine, shut up. I am calling her!" I replied pretending to look annoyed. He rolled his eyes at me.

Fifteen minutes later I was ringing the bell at Sophie's place. Her apartment was a few blocks away from mine.

"Grace, Come in!" she beckoned me inside. I entered taking in the surroundings. Her house was quaint with pale yellow walls which complimented the sky blue curtains. When I called Sophie she was more than willing to lend me one of her dresses. The whole way I had my phone wedged between my shoulder and ear as we conversed about what kind of dress I could wear.

"Whoa that's a lot of pink" I commented observing Sophie's room taking in the surrounding. The walls were a baby pink matched with magenta curtains. It looked cute but very unlike Sophie.

"It wasn't my choice okay? My dad surprised me by painting it all by himself after I moved here" she said sounding offended.

"Okay chill! I think it's quite cute" I replied tugging my lips up.

"So whose wedding are you attending?" she asked taking out her dresses from her wardrobe and tossing them on the bed.

"Uhh- some relative's" I replied indifferently.

"Here try these" she handed me a bunch of dresses and pushed me towards the bathroom.

After trying countless dresses we settled for a knee length white skater dress with blue baroque print over it and matched the outfit with a pair of dark blue stilettos. After that Sophie insisted on doing my makeup and hair. She applied foundation, a light pink lipstick for my lips and some mascara. I decided to leave my hair in a messy ponytail leaving some disheveled locks of red hair to freely fall on the side of my face. I have to say Sophie did a good job of grooming me.

"You look amazeballs!" she exclaimed.

"It's all because of you!" I chuckled.

After thanking Sophie I rushed downstairs to find the stupid ghost sulking inside the car. Before I could take a seat, he started grumbling.

"I told you not to be late. It was really a bad idea for involving you in this-" He stopped mid sentence as he looked towards me. He was staring at me wide eyed. His eyes from my head to toe and then finally rested on my face. He was opening and closing his mouth like a fish unable to say anything.

I felt uncomfortable under the weight of his eyes, so I decided to break the perpetual silence, "Stop checking me out pervert!"

"I wasn't - I wasn't checking you out" he hollered tearing his eyes away, quickly recovering himself.

"Whatever floats you boat", I smirked at him, starting the engine.

"At least you look less of a hobo now", he mumbled.

"Hey! I heard that!"
