Pain.

That's the only thing that he felt.

These are the times where he'd just wish he's normal. Maybe, just maybe, if he was, then he'd be dead by now and he'd be no pain.

But, there wasn't anything he can do about it. He was a vampire and that was it.

Plus, if he died, it would mean leaving Y/N and he didn't want that.

"Time's up." His mad father told the two men who were whipping him. "Next."

'Next...there is a next?..' He thought.

The pain should be too much for his body, yet he was still hanging in there. 'Fuck..'

The two men suddenly hit him, extremely hard. It really fucking hurt, considering he was whipped earlier. But it was only one, which confused him.

"The last one." His father smiled at him, it was almost an exact copy of his, except more cruel. He swore to never smile at Y/N like that, the harshness and cruelty showed was extreme.

The two men looked at him with pity. He knew they wanted to stop, but they couldn't. "Go on.." He forced a whisper, it sounded so damn weak. "I'm going to be...the one sorry...for you..if you don't."

He thought that they saw what he said as an insult, and that they'll get angry. But to his surprise, they just nodded, looking really sad for him.

That's when the other guy got out a knife. It didn't look like Subaru's so he wasn't going to die today.

'Fuck but I'm very near death.' He thought.

"Cut him."

At those words, he bit his lip. It was almost near to bleeding, since he bit it very hardly during his whipping.

The man took a deep breath and went near him. "Sorry." He mumbled.

His father must've heard the guy. 'Shit.' He thought.

"I don't...need your apology." He tried being harsh, thankfully it worked.

Yet like earlier, the man only nodded again. "Well, here goes nothing."

He took his arm, positioned the knife, and started to cut him.

Blood dripped and for the first time in his life, Kanato wasn't craving the red thick liquid.
