School is boring. But I guess everyone already knows that. But today is exceptionally boring, why? Because my two stupid best friends decided it would be fun to ditch me at school today.

Ok, maybe not exactly ditch me, but close. It's been about 3 weeks since Leo's first tutoring session and we haven't really devoloped that much in our acquaintanceship, I guess I can consider him a friend, seeing as we hang out quite a lot, but in school, we don't talk that much, and I don't hold it against him, he's got his group of friends, I got mine, which is fine, but outside of school it's always fun. We actually talk a lot, he's fun to hang around and he's always smiling or grinning or even laughing when we're together and I consider that to be an achievement.

But back to why school is boring. John figured it would be fun to skip to hang out with Charlotte, his new girlfriend, who is actually super nice, but also goes to school on the other side of town. And because I'm the luckiest guy in the world, Macy decided it would be fun to get sick today! And because Ethan is the good boyfriend he is, he's taking care of her.

I mean, obviously, I'm not really mad at them. I could never get mad at them, not for this at least. Threy're my family- the one I chose. But I wish they wouldn't have left me alone...

Anyway, in class it's not that bad, not like I usually socialize much, the problem is lunch. The cafeteria, more specifically. I hate eating alone, I feel like I'm being watched, even if I'm not that important and that people are gonna bully me without John or Macy here. But it's fine, as long as they're happy I guess...

Like, I know they care about me like family too. They always offer to help with everything, including babysit Chris, so that I can take some time off and they keep asking me to hang out with them. And I appreciate it, really I do... but I really don't feel like third wheeling (or fifth wheeling) the whole night.

So, back to now... I'm currently sitting alone in the cafeteria, enjoying my pizza lunch, trying not to make eye contact with anynone and yo know- avoid awkward situations. It's not until I feel a prensence in my table that I dare look up.

I don't know who I was expecting, but it definetly wasn't Leo. What the hell does he think he's doing? Doesn't he know that people will talk?!

"Hey," Leo says." I hope you don't mind me sitting with you. I just saw you were alone and decided to keep you some company. Is that ok?"

Obviously that's ok. Jesus, why is he so nice?

"Sure, I mean, if you want... don't you wanna hang out with your friends though?" I ask.

"Well, we've been hanging out for like a month and a few weeks, I think I can call you my friend, so yes, I am having lunch with my friend," he retorts and winks. Ugh, those freaking winks will be the death of me.

"Yeah... guess so..."

Lunch went on like that, we didn't talk much, but when we didn't, the silence wasn't akward, it was actually quite comforting. But when we weren't silent, it was amazing talking to him. He was such a great listener, but he knew just when to talk and interrupt and I never want our moments together to end.

But obviously, all good moments come to an end, and we were reminded of that by the stupid and annoying sound of the bell, meaning we had about five minutes to get to class.

"What do you have now?" Leo asks me.

"Um, History. You?"

"Biology."

We keep walking in silence, shoulders bumping eventually, and with me blushing everytime.

Our silence is interrupted when Leo speaks up," So, you like, wanna hang out after school?"

He looks nervous, with the way he's scratching his neck and avoiding eye contact, though I don't know why he'd been nervous, we hang out all the time.

"Sure!"

"Great, I'll pick you up at your place at, let's say...seven?"

"Yeah, sounds great! Where are we going?"

"You'll see," and with that he went down a different corridor from mine and I kept thinking what that was about... I mean, we've been hanging out for like a month, why would he be nervous now? Wait... Is Leo asking me out...on a date?

Nah, Leo is as straight as they come, unfortunately. Also, he doesn't know I'm gay either, so why risk it?

But then he says those things like: " I only laugh when I'm with" and stuff like that. But then the next day he's kissing Laurel and it's really freaking confusing, and not fun at all!

The rest of the day was very boring, I kept thinking about Leo and our non-date, and what I should wear or if I should even change clothes. I mean, I should definetly change clothes, these smell like school.

After classes ended, I went to Macy's house to see how she was doing, obviously, Ethan was there, but it's fine. I knocked on the door and Macy's mom opened the door and told me that she and Ethan were in her bedroom, so I go up and knock on the door and wait for someone to tell me to get in. Macy says 'Come in', so I do.

"Hey Mace, how you doing?" I ask once I'm inside the room.

"Well, I've been better, but you know... I'm alive so I can't really complain now can I?"

I laugh and sit dow on the poof she has next to the bed and text John to know how his date went.

John: It went great man, she's great! And so pretty and she smells nice... actually I just dropped her off, wanna hang?

Matt: I'm actually at Macy's. She's sick and didn't go to school, wanna come by?

John: Oh, I didn't know she was sick. Crap, I sound like a terrible friend. I'll be there in ten.

Matt: Ok, and don't worry, you're not a terrible friend, you just have a girlfriend and want to spend time with her, nothing wrong with that.

"John is coming here, wants to see how you're doing," I tell them.

"Cool."

After John arrived we didn't do much. Just kept watching the movie Macy and Ethan were watching before I arrived and talked about how John's day went.

Now I'm home, looking at my clothes looking for something appropriate to wear and just go for black skinny jeans, my black converse, black shirt with a black and red flanel. It's kind of hipster already, so why not go all the way and add a black beanie. And that's what I go for.

Just as I finish getting ready I hear a knock on the door and figure it's probably Mrs. Pemberton who's here to pick Chris up, so I call him and thank Mrs. Pemberton for looking after him again.

After that I just wait for Leo to come pick me up and watch TV for a while.

I get a message from him saying he's outside so I pick up my keys, phone and wallet and leave, nervous and excited for tonight.
