Wang Zen looked at the bo staff wielder. “Hey, girlie, you mind giving me back my shield?”
The bo staff wielder glared at him. “What?”
Zen sighed. “Why are women in the battlefield. I said, give me that round thing there at your feet. It’s called a shield!” He said, saying the word shield as slowly as possible.
She gritted her teeth, a killing intent rising from her.
Lao stopped himself from smirking. He could see what Zen was doing in trying to draw her attention to him.
“Zen, do you think you can hold them off for a minute while I take a Vitality Pill?” She said.
Zen nodded. “One minute? Should be easy enough.” He touched his storage stone and another shield appeared on his arm. Instead of a circular one like the one she had thrown, this one was a double arc.
“Careful, the strong one is a Wood Elementalist.” Lao said. “He specializes in poison. Be careful what you breath in and make sure he doesn’t spit in your eyes”
Zen nodded. “And the bo staff wielder?”
“Fire Elementalist, imbues fire in her staff with fire.”
He nodded once again. “Get better, Captain.” Zen stepped forward. “Hey girlie!”
The bo staff wielder glared at him.
“Girls should stay out of the battlefield! I asked for my shield but it seems your too busy thinking about cooking. Stay in the kitchen where you belong.”
“I’ll kill you, Bastard!” She charged at him.
Zen dashed forward. He raised his shield to block the attack.
“I’ll burn your shield away!” she spat as her staff was engulfed in fire which travelled to Zen’s shield. His shield went up in flames.
He stepped back, trying to smother the fire by waving his arm about. “Damn! I knew I should not have made this shiel with wood and beast hide!”

“Die!” She screamed as she thrust her staff out. It extended and broke into three. Fire sped down the now three section staff’s length and shot out at the other end towards Zen.
Zen rolled to the side, dodging the projectile of flame that headed straight for Lei, who was standing behind him!
Lei raised his cloak as the projectile made contact and exploded into a plume of flame.
“No!” The staff wielder shouted.
“Impact Meteor Kick!” Zen shouted as his body was covered in ki that sent him propelling forward into the girl.
“Spinning Flame Shield!” she shouted, spinning her staff which snapped back into one whole staff. Fire covered the spinning staff, creating a solid sphere of fire.
Zen’s attack met with her shield. The two attacks struggled for dominance, sparks flying between them, until Zen’s attack broke through her defences and she was sent hurtling away.
Zen heard someone coming up behind him. He whipped and raised his sword. Lei kicked it away and tried to punch him, violet energy covering his fists.
“Venom Jab!” Lei shouted.
Zen grabbed the wrist of Lei, making sure not to touch the poisonous energy emanating from his fist. Zen leaned back, planning to use Lei’s momentum against him as he placed his foot under him and vaulted him off him. During the manoeuvre, they came face to face. The closest they had ever been. Lei seemed to be hesitating about something but then clumsily spat poison out. The spray was a mess, mostly missing Zen but some did get into one of his eyes before he was able to vault the Wood Elementalist away.
Zen grasped his eye as he could feel the stinging pain. He looked out and saw that vision in his eye was already rapidly fading to black.
“I’ll kill you!”
Zen felt the killing intent and looked at the staff wielder. She was bruised and hurt but otherwise, was getting back to her feet, her staff engulfed in fire!
“I’ll KILL YOU!” she shouted, the fire around her staff growing stronger!
