《Killing demon as a deity》End orb
Advertisement
Demen raised his hands to the sky and created a huge amount of orbs, each one lifted into the sky and gathered at a centre point. As they mashed and forced themselves together, a massive sphere formed.
The wind around it started circulating and lifted stones and stray branches into its orbit, forcing them into the sky.
Like a second moon in the dead of the night, the orb shone a violet undertone over the area. The ground shook heavier than before and started ripping out from the earth as if lifted off into the air.
“These are the gifts given to me by god, and now I have transcended into the realm of immortals. This is your punishment for the sin of being born, demon!” Demen screamed.
He held the large moon over his head and put his entire body in the action of throwing it, as it moved forward the ground underneath it crumbled and floated up.
As more and more things flew into it, getting consumed at a high pace; the larger it seemed to grow. By the time it approached Kira it had already reached the size of a moderate sized house and was capable of levelling a large army.
“That thing is too strong to handle, even for him! I have to help somehow…can I?” Arisa panicked.
She frantically searched through her pouch and pulled out some talismans to access their features but didn’t seem happy with any of them.
Oblivious to her surroundings she didn’t notice the large beam of wood flying towards her. By the time that it came into view it was too late and crashed into her. She was sent flying into the wreckage she was standing clear of before.
Arisa burst through a wall of flames but the pulling force from the moon lowered the flames in time for her to slip through. When she landed on the floor again, the fire spread around her and trapped her inside of a ring of flames.

The flames around her grew exceptionally, cancelling out the pulling force of the moon. The more they grew the further it closed in on where Arisa stood, causing her to start sweating.
Arisa threw out one of her water talismans and created a blast of icy water that shot into the flames directly, but sizzled out into steam without killing the flame.
At that point Kira's flames were reacting to his new state and were more potent than usual; even the colour had changed. Its usual midnight black tone was now an endless darkness that resembled a void.
The smoke from the fire spread heavily across the area like a veil of mist. Arisa covered her mouth using her robes but a hefty amount of smoke still made its way into her system because of the deep breaths she took.
‘Oh no, I can’t get out…It’s starting to get hard to breathe. Look for a way out- find a way…out.’
Arisa started buckling and collapsed down to the ground as the flames closed in. Her eyes grew heavier and dragged down; she tapped gently on a talisman with the last of her strength.
A small spec of light pulled itself out the paper and floated up into the night sky, like a stray star.
Kira paused his advancements and stared at the light with a blank expression, the glowing eye hiding behind flames started to flicker rapidly. “What am- I…doing? Is that Arisa- is she hurt? I- I…I need to- !”
He snapped his attention back to the purple moon.
Kira gripped his sword with both hands and rushed towards the moon object hurdling towards him. The glow in his eyes sharpened and his grunts became heavier, like a wild animal he leapt into the air.
The pressure from the orb pulled his body in so hard that it appeared like he was flying through the air. “Hyaaaa! Kira roared.

Kira plunged his sword into the orb but the sword didn’t leave any damage, it dragged in along with his foot. Kira slowly fell into the moon; his feet and sword sunk into its purple mass like quick sand and sparked lightening around its surface.
“You really are a wild animal, diving head first into my End Orb knowing that it can’t be beat! Willing to abandon someone who tried to help you-”
“I’ll never fall as far as you did.” Kira said calmly.
The crimson Iris in his eye started shifting in shape and formed into a tiny flame.
The fire encompassing his arm and face started to flare up and spread throughout his sword, all of his fire poured into the blade and created an immense pressure.
Kira's blade carried all the flames he could summon and started to draw in the surrounding flames as well. All the fire around Arisa pulled away and gathered into his blade as he shoved it further into the surface of the End Orb.
Cracks and shattered fractions of the orbs surface appeared one by one as it spread across its entire body.
“I will kill every demon and god that stands in front of me and what I want. Burn!” Kira screamed.
The plunged his sword fully into the orb and twisted it in place, which created a large crack that shot down the centre of the orb. The crack split open and burst into a flash of light and pushed everything back.
The entire area was layered with a light shroud of soot and smoke, most of the ground was either shattered of missing large chunks of dirt. Every tree or rock that could be seen was on its side or destroyed.
“A-Arisa…where are you?” Kira exclaimed while searching through the smoke.
Kira fumbled around and wasn’t able to see much, his eyes were fading in and out along with his other senses but staying awake was the hardest part.
“Arisa!”
Kira ran up to Arisa collapsed on the floor under a blanket of dirt, when he lifted her up she was unresponsive. Kira shook her around and screamed her name repeatedly but still had no reaction.
‘She must have breathed in too much smoke- damn it!’
“I have to do something…think! Think- think- think- how can I help…”
As Kira lowered his eyes Arisa let out a raspy cough that snapped him out of it.
“What, you’re not dead?”
“Are you disappointed or something? Don’t answer that, I’m pretty sure you will just ruin it anyways.”
Kira gave off a big smile as he looked down at her.
“I’m glad you’re okay.”

Not as a legendary swordsman or a brilliant wizard, but as a dealer in the junk no one else seems to want. 8 100The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
8 135Re-Ordaining of the Chosen
Alea cheerfully hummed as she descended the steps, brimming in upbeat while her colleague, Quarren Leos, shot her a look of skepticism. “So… were you right about him?” he asked doubtfully. She came to a stop for a moment, her humming falling silent before she shook her head, waving her medium length light-blonde hair from side to side. “I was wrong about him.” Quarren raised an eyebrow in confusion at the convoluted response.“But you seem quite happy?” he asked again. “Because I am. But I was wrong about him. He was… so much more than I ever expected.” Alea looked at the sky overhead with a smile. “That boy… no, that man, is amazing. I firmly believe he will come to stand on top of any adversary he faces. He is destined. He is Chosen.” Quarren snorted as he stepped past, shaking his head. “Okay. Each to their own beliefs but you’re sounding like a nutjob. That skinny twig? Everyone calls him a cripple, you know,” he shook his head.“Rumours are always false, Leos,” Alea answered with a disapproving shake of her head. “You wouldn’t know. He is so, so much more.” “I saw him with my own two eyes. I didn’t see anything redeeming,” Quarren rebutted. “Well…” Alea chuckled. “You haven’t seen what I’ve seen.” In the year 917 of the Imperial Calendar, the Great War had just ended between dozens of nations. Farrien welcomed home millions of troops and warriors with the Archdukes of Aerianne and Kanaria leading them at the forefront. Since the founding of Farrien, the Aerianne and Kanarian Archduchies have been pillars upholding the Kingdom from enemies. It was common belief that they possessed special blood blessed by the Goddess Stecia, who gifted the lineage to the first King of Farrien when he first founded the country. All were ecstatic when the current generation of the two Archduchy's, after the war, agreed to let their children wed. The excitement was short-lived however when the Aerianne Princess proved to be a dragoness among men but the Kanarian Prince was worse than even mediocre. The Prince disappeared and the wedding was shortly forgotten as society lived on. Until one day the Young Heir of Kanaria returned to Farrien a changed man, bringing demise with him. Follow the story of the Chosen ordained by the Goddess of Time as he returns to the past to right his wrongs and set things back straight again! Many thanks to xSTAYc for the cover design and various co-creative elements in the conscription phase! :p
