《Theirs》Chapter 57

...

"Come here you little devil." I said and took Dezenym in my arms.

The three-month-old, who looked like a six-month-old really, looked at me with wide eyes and then gave me a big smile, immediately clinging to me like a koala.

"Oh thank fuck. I thought we lost him. Again." Lyla said with a sigh of relief once I approached her with her baby.

Dezenym learned to crawl a few days ago and now we can barely find him when he randomly disappears.

Fucking dragon genes.

"I still can't believe how sneaky he is." I said with a chuckle as Lyla tried to take Dezenym from me, but he was holding onto my shirt for dear life.

"It's your fault. He's always searching for you. I swear, he loves you more than me." She grumbled and gave up with a huff because Dezenym wasn't budging.

"That's not true. You're his mama. He'll always love his mama the most. Right cutie?" I cooed at Dezenym in a baby voice, making him giggle loudly.

"Then why does he never giggle at me like that? Huh??" She whined and glared at her son who was paying zero attention to her as he was playing with my hair.

"I don't know." I said with a grin and shrugged my shoulders.

"Oh good. You found him." Blaze said out of nowhere and approached us. "He's giving me gray hairs and he's not even a teen." He added with an exhausted sigh making me chuckle.

"Laugh all you can, because once your babies arrive, you'll never laugh again." Lyla grumbled and walked into the kitchen.

I suppressed a laugh and followed her in. I noticed Kayda and Scylla right away. Scylla was wolfing down food as usual while Kayda played with her phone.

"Came to grab some food?" Kayda said with a chuckle, making me glare at her.

After my morning sickness passed, I became a bottomless pit. I can go without food for maximum one hour. It's honestly a miracle how I've barely gained weight. I guess all the food gets devoured by my babies, so that's one positive thing.

'Katie~' Draco called in a baby voice.

'Hm?' I mumbled as I sat Dezenym on the counter.

'Can you come to our room? We want to show you something.' He said in the same tone.

'I'll be there soon.' I said with a sigh and closed the link.

If I had to guess, it's probably one of their random gifts for either me or our babies. Ever since I told them I was pregnant, they've given me at least one gift per day.

At first they wouldn't even believe me when I told them about my pregnancy, but once the doctor confirmed it, they bawled their eyes out for an hour straight. And that was the beginning of their gift obsession.

"Come on cutie. Go to your dada. Your uncles need me and I don't think they'd want to see you with me." I said with a chuckle and gave a struggling Dezenym to Blaze.

"Come here buddy." Blaze said with an evil laugh he always did when I gave him Dezenym.

He was acting like villain and Dezenym was definitely not amused by it.

"Ahh!" Dezenym protested angrily and tried to grab me, but Blaze stepped back so he couldn't reach me.

"Run." Blaze said with a chuckle and I was out of the kitchen within a second.

If I stayed, I knew I'd cave in and take him in my arms again. He was too cute for his own good.

I walked for a few minutes and once I was in front of the door of my room, I opened it loudly.

"I'm here~" I sang, making my presence known.

"Up here!" Draco yelled from upstairs.

I started walking again, wondering what present did they get me today. But once I was there, their present was them jumping my bones.

Why am I not surprised...

...

"Blaze, get your spawn away from my mate. She can't carry him anymore." Tharion grumbled in annoyance, detaching Dezenym from my leg and handing him to Blaze.

I laughed and waddled towards the fridge. My bump's so big now, I can't even see my legs. Let alone Dezenym when he's hugging them.

"Leave him alone Tharion. You know he always does that." I said with a chuckle and started sipping on my juice.

"But it's not safe. What if you trip and fall? Actually no, I don't even want to imagine that scenario." He said and shuddered.

I laughed again and moved to sit on one of the chairs, but a sudden sharp pain in my lower belly stopped me in my tracks.

"What happened?" Tharion asked and was immediately next to me.

I waited to see if the pain will come again, but nothing. I sat down and continued to drink my juice.

"I think one of them kicked or something. It felt different than the usual kicks though." I said and started to rub my bump.

Tharion squatted in front of me and pressed his ear against my bump. I snorted at his antics. He was acting as if the babies were going to tell him some big secret.

"Stop that." I said with a chuckle, making him grin up at me.

The pain returned out of nowhere, but this time it was a lot stronger, making me topple over with a groan.

"What's wrong?" Tharion asked in a panicked voice, but I couldn't answer him.

The pain was so strong, all I could do was groan and hold my belly. I heard Tharion say something, but I'm not sure what.

What's happening? Why does it hurt so much? Are my babies okay?

I tried to say something again, but this time, instead of groans, I blacked out without a warning.

...

"Get him out of here Blaze." I said, because Katie's groans were scaring Dezenym and he looked like he was going to cry any second now.

"Come on buddy. Let's go find mama." Blaze said and was out of the kitchen within a second.

I looked at Katie, but she suddenly went completely limp in my arms. I immediately knew something was wrong.

"Katie?" I called, gently tapping her cheek, but nothing.

'Get a doctor to our room. Katie just fainted.' I said to Draco and slowly took Katie in my arms.

'What?! Is she okay?!' Draco asked worriedly.

'I don't know. She was groaning in pain and then fainted out of nowhere.' I explained as I rushed towards my room.

'We'll be there soon.' He said and closed the link.

I kicked the door of our room with my foot, not caring that I broke it, and rushed up the stairs. Once I was next to the bed, I slowly laid Katie on it.

"Hang in there love." I whispered to her and kissed her forehead.

...

I ran through the broken door of my room and up the stairs to where Katie and Tharion were. The doctor was right behind me and when we arrived, he immediately proceeded to do a check up on Katie.

"She's been out since I called you." Tharion said, answering my question before I even asked it.

What happened to you Katie?

After a few minutes, the doctor looked at us in panic.

"Her organs are failing. I don't know why, but she needs an immediate c-section." He said and at that moment, I felt like the whole world crashed on top of me.
