Katherine took the glass of water from the friend and slowly sipped the water in it. She looked plaintive and mournful, and the friend calmly stared as she drank the water.

"He said he wants nothing to do with me." Katherine finally spoke with a gesture of despair, the glass of water between her hands, "It really hurts, Stacey, it hurts badly!" She visibly looked overhang with gloom.

The friend was piteously desolate, "I am sorry. A heartbreak is usually a painful experience." She took a seat beside her, "But Kath, there is a sense that can be seen here. Maybe this guy doesn't love you_"

"I am sure he does!" Katherine spoke certainly, "He has shown it and I have felt it. He always made me feel appreciated, loved and cared for."

"Then why fail to understand you?"

"He has been understanding since five years ago. Since our relationship started."

"Then suddenly he fails to understand you?"

Katherine sighed, "It is the family friend who has put deceptions in him." Her wounded soul and leaden heart suddenly soared, "It really, really_"

"Pains?" The friend questioned incongruously, "It pains you that he is listening to some bitch over you? Come on, Kath, does that sound like real love?"

Katherine remorsefully and sullenly remained quiet.

"Maybe the bitch happened to show you the truth." Stacey shared her belief, "What your guy did is not love! That is not how it should be. A guy should only listen to her woman and not any other. That is what love is."

Katherine still remained quiet, unable to say anything.

"Listen, Kath, you shouldn't feel pity or disappointed in yourself. Yes, Symon saw that you were willing but couldn't give yourself to him. But did he listen to your reasons? If I had taken the time and listened to you and realized that actually your part is difficult, why not him? Why not somebody who is supposed to love you?"

"If he had taken time to listen to you, he could have understood that you wanted to give it to him, but there was something holding you back that you can't understand. But no, he is listening to another chic. He doesn't want to understand you and work with you in order to make him happy. He doesn't want to understand that you need help to open up yourself."

The friend's point of view brought an unexpected stab of enlightenment in Katherine. The view had a level of sense in it, a sense that surprised Katherine. And suddenly, doubt started assailing her. Doubt that she never imagined possible. Did he truly love me? Did the relationship have the genuine fundamentals of true partnership? The thought brought about an anguish of the love she had for the man, and it further tore her heart with agony and despair.

Stacey could be able to see that her belief had convinced. Don't worry, friend, you will be fine, as long as you don't think about him and what you had with him. All men are dogs. They are incapable of true love.

"This guy didn't love you like it is supposed to be." She said, "Men can't truly love. Let him go rot with that bitch that he sees more important than you. Forget about him and move on with your life."

Katherine stared at the friend evenly. She never in her wildest imagination thought there would come a day when she would doubt Symon's love towards her.
