《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》95: What Makes Men Happy

Symon got to the hostel room fridge, picked a drink, and went with it to his bed, all along Lemarh watching him. He had been seeing Symon in happy moods in recent days, moods that he had never seen in the cousin's life. It made him believe that the cousin was having an important moment in his life. A moment that could have been exciting and satisfying, and yet one that he didn’t know about, despite them sharing any important matter happening in their lives.

"Would you mind sharing with me what is making you this happy of late?" He asked at the study table.

Symon sipped his drink, "It is what makes men happy."

"There are a lot of things that make men happy. Football, for instance, makes me happy."

"Okay, let me say that it is the main thing that makes men happy."

Lemarh picked the cousin's meaning, and in an instance, it brought him an understanding of what he had been seeing in the cousin's life. He had been seeing the cousin close to a female family friend. They had been close more than they were before, and he had sensed there was something going on between them.

Now it was clear, and he could not believe the cousin would actually cheat on his girlfriend. A woman he had spent wonderful and incredible moments with. He had always seen how happy they were since the beginning of their relationship, and he failed to understand why the cousin would do this to the relationship.

"By the way, Symon." He tried to pull the cousin in the subject for a better understanding, "I have been seeing you with Belinda quite often. You are close to her, so close that it can make Katherine jealous."

"Katherine and I are no longer together." Symon shortly said in a glazed expression.

Lemarh changed his position on the study chair, now face to face with the cousin, "What?" He looked visibly surprised.

"We are no longer together." Symon easily answered.

Lemarh for a moment thought the cousin was joking, but it didn't seem so with his manner and appearance, "Since when?" His surprise deepened, "And you never thought it important to tell me about it?"

"Since Saturday night. And I knew you would find out about it one way or another, or eventually."

A short surprised laugh escaped Lemarh. This surely looked like a joke, "You knew that I would find out about it one way or another, or eventually! You never thought it important for me to find out about it from you?"

"Lemarh, it doesn't matter now, does it? The ship has already sailed. She is not in my life anymore."

Lemarh understood the mindset and psychological perception of the cousin, though he found it a wonder. He never thought the cousin could ever have such a mindset and mentality. A mindset that was rarely compatible with reason.

"Symon," He tried to bring reason in the mindset, "This is what I know about relationships. When you have a wonderful one, then you break up, you shouldn't immediately go into another relationship. This can damage you, and more so, the person in the new relationship. You need to heal first before going into another relationship."

"I saw you and Katherine sharing amazing times. You always talked about how she is the best woman in the world. That doesn't go away and fades easily, even if you are mad at her for whatever reason or if something breaks you apart. She is still in your heart, and you will damage Belinda when she resurfaces back."

"Katherine didn't love me the way I loved her." Symon said, "Even if she resurfaces back, things won't be any different. We have been having a difference for a long time and it proved to me she wasn't the one."

"You have been having a difference for a long time?" Lemarh said in an expression of surprise and growing concern, "Symon, since when did you find it not important to share with me your downs? Is it me? Did I do something?"

"No, you didn't do anything. I just had my reasons."

"You had your reasons...fine, but can you still find it important to tell me these reasons?"

"Lemarh, it is relationship. If there is a problem with it, it should only be fixed with the partners involved. I didn't want to drag you into it."

Lemarh shook his head unbelievably, "Buddy, you seriously believe that if partners have a problem that can make them break up, they shouldn't involve anyone that can be able to fix the problem?"

"Lemarh, that is just you. You are smart everywhere. Even in this, you will just end up the smart one, even though I know and believe that I am right."

"I am trying to help you, even though you know and believe that you are right." Lemarh said, "What was the difference between you two?"

Symon sighed, "I realized there was no openness in the relationship."

"Could you be more specific?"

Symon was at the cousin for a couple of seconds, then spoke plainly, "She couldn't allow me lovemaking."

"So, you broke up because of sex?" Lemarh tried to suppress all the surprise and astonishment from the cousin. It was as if he was newly knowing him, even though they had been living together for fifteen years, "Please, explain this to me, because I know that you are not a person who has been valuing sex and seen it important in a relationship."

"Lemarh, men mature and get exposed. That is my explanation_"

"That made you throw away everything you had with her? The good times and companionship you had, just because you got matured and exposed?"

"Lemarh, if partners love each other, sex shouldn't be a big deal in the relationship. Kath made it such a huge deal out of it."

And it was when Lemarh understood everything. He now knew the cousin was under manipulation and influence, because he had been living with him and he knew him well. He knew that if a man suddenly started showing great interest in sex, which he had never been showing, there had to be a strong external factor behind it.

The factor instantly came to Lemarh's knowledge, and it pained him that the family friend could do this to the cousin. She had engulfed him in her womanly charms, and Lemarh knew there was usually no way out of it until time makes the man come back to his reasons and senses. He knew he could almost do nothing to help the cousin.

"Symon." He said what he could only manage in his resourceful and knowledgeable mind, "Just be careful on the matters of sex. It has put down even the strongest and bravest of men. Just be careful, cousin."
