《The Last Watcher》Leaving and Confusion

The Guild was silent as the Abyss Watcher walked down the stairs, the silence caused by both the tension in the air and the small amount of occupants. Kayla sat with the kids on one of the vacant circular tables, an awkward silence present as they did so, Argent occasionally glancing towards Caelan as she tried to peer underneath his hood, a curious look in her eyes. Skyla and Xander stood worried by the door not having noticed him walking down the stairs.
Aaylia stood near the bottom of the stairs, a hint of fear in her eyes as the blue haired woman spoke in a quiet voice, her katana held in it's sheathe by her side.
Her gaze flicked to the Abyss Watcher as he reached the ground floor before the blue haired woman quickly snapped her fingers, bringing Aaylia back to her rapt attention. Ignoring this the Abyss Watcher glanced at the blue haired woman for a second before walking past the two of them, remembering the threats she had given.
At this point Kayla noticed the Abyss Watcher walking towards them, her gaze catching the attention of both of the children present. They all remained silent as he approached them, not really sure as to what to say. The Abyss Watcher stopped as he reached the table, looking between each of it's denizens. He once again looked to Aaylia and the blue haired woman, the former now looking right terrified as the latter most likely subtly threatened her.
Looking back to the group he jerked his head toward the door, signaling for them to follow him. Both Caelan and Argent hurriedly acquiesced to this, with Kayla lingering for a few more moments, an unreadable expression on her face before she too got up and began to follow him to the door.

It was at this point that both Skyla and Xander also saw the approaching Abyss Watcher relief flooding both of their faces as they approached. Skyla quickly rushed ahead towards him.
"Oh thank Celest you're alright." She said, an apologetic look coming upon her face, "I'm so sorry about what happened. Me and Xander got [Teleported] away before we could intervene."
"Yeah, I almost strangled Aaylia myself!" Xander added, glaring at the elf in question.
The Abyss Watcher nodded in thanks. At least she and Xander did indeed seem to be quite apologetic that they couldn't intervene on his behalf. A small smile came upon his face. He had barely known these people for a day yet they wanted to help him when he was attacked, even if it put them in danger. The smile dropped slightly however when he remembered the blue haired woman's threat. Deciding to not see how far he could push his lingering he quickly walked between the two of them and out the door, Kayla and the kids following after a brief pause.
As he exited the Guild and went onto the street Skyla spoke once again, "Alright you go on now, we need to have a chat with Aaylia anyways." She shouted after him.
And so, the Abyss Watcher stood in the streets, looking up and down the tide of people walking to and from their destinations. He glanced at Kayla. Well, the orphanage seemed like a good place to wait until that strange woman found whoever she was looking for.
Alissa groaned as she entered the Guild. She had not learnt much so far about the Abyss Watcher, making that whole excursion with Zack a complete waste of time. Although, she wouldn't actually call it a complete waste of time, after all she got to experience those wonderful 'burgers'.

"-OH NO, YOU DON'T GET TO MAKE ANY EXCUSES!" A familiar voice suddenly assaulted her ears. Looking to her left she found the Guild almost entirely empty barring a single adventurer sitting in the corner as he drunk the ale in front of him, occasionally glancing in annoyance to the source of the noise. "WE HAD A CELEST DAMNED DEAL! YOU BROKE THAT DEAL SO YOU DON'T GET TO TALK!" That source happened to be Skyla absolutely laying into Aaylia, who was currently cornered against the wall by Skyla and Xander, angry expressions strewn across both their faces.
Aaylia gulped nervously before speaking, "I followed Guild protocol. Deals made with Royalists don't change that." She said, somehow managing to maintain an even tone despite being beared down on by two Platinums.
"THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?" Skyla yelled, kicking the wall violently, leaving a small dent in the wood. "YOU THINK YOU CAN BACK OUT JUST BECAUSE WE'RE LOYAL TO THE QUEEN!? JUST BECAUSE WE DON'T BELIEVE YOUR DAMN COMPANY IS FIT TO RUN THIS DAMNED COUNTRY!?"
Aaylia's gaze hardened, "I followed Guild protocol. A deal made with a small branch of royalists within the guild does not change that."
Skyla blinked in shock for a second before gritting her teeth, "You damned Guildsworn." Skyla spat taking a few steps back, "You can be damn well sure the Queen is going to hear about this." Skyla finished before walking away.
Alissa frowned in worry as Skyla stormed toward the door, grumbling angrily as she did so. Alissa stopped Skyla from walking past her by grabbing the livid mage by the shoulder, shocking her greatly as she didn't seem to notice the familiar archer. "Do you understand what you just did?" She whispered, nodding to Aaylia and Xander, the latter now talking in a low and threatening manner to Aaylia, who occasionally whispered back, the exact contents of their conversation unknown.
Skyla growled as she brushed Alissa's hand away, "I know damn well what I just did." She hissed, jerking her head back to Aaylia, "And so does she." And with that she stormed off.
Confused, Alissa decided to approach Xander, who was now walking towards her, "What the hell just happened?" She asked, panic entering her voice slightly.
Xander sighed as he glanced back to Aaylia who was moving back to her usual position behind the counter, "That...is a long story that can be told as we chase after Skyla before she does anything rash." He sighed as he said before walking past the now dumbfounded Alissa.
"Wh-Long story!? I left you guys alone for like a three hours at best! Just what the hell have you been doing!?" She yelled in exasperation before following him out the door.

The Fall of The Gods
Synopsis: In the year 1966, an army of Orishas led by Sango stormed Amadioha’s palace and razed it the ground, starting a decades-long war between two of Nigeria’s most powerful divine orders. Blinded by the rage of battle, the gods did not detect the rise of a third power, far greater and deadlier than anything they could have imagined. When gods, on both the Yoruba and Igbo sides, begin falling mysteriously to their death, Sango seeks the help of Odion, a Lagos teenager destined to rise from his dark past to become a hero. But can a human hero save the gods from a doomed fate? The Fall of the Gods is an action-packed YA fantasy based on the mythical bond that ties human life with the realm of the divine. It demonstrates the power of stories to change our lives. It also reminds us that Sango and Amadioha are not relics of the past and that, sometimes, what it means to be a hero in today’s world is knowing how to find inspiration in the stories of the gods. PLEASE NOTE: Weekly chapters will be released every friday along with interludes once in a while about Nigerian mythology. I'm a young 17 year old writer and I am new to the site so I will appreciate your comments and reviews. Thank you very much.

Anchor Points: Age of Heroes
If you had a chance to reset history, knowing what we know now, would you take it? Six years after kicking an alien expeditionary force off the surface of the Earth back to their staging bases in the asteroid belt, and aided by stolen alien technology, the United Terran Republic Navy has finally achieved enough warship production to put the enemy on the run. Despite the facade of unity projected by the Earth's new federal government, deep cracks still lie under the surface that threaten the stability of world peace and the ability to protect humanity with a unified military response. Within this backdrop, the North American Union, now a mere state in the greater union, has created or reopened multiple off-books projects and black sites to house secrets both old and new that would be far too toxic or dangerous to be known to the wider world at such a delicate stage in world history. One of these secrets will draw Captain Henry O'Toole from his comfortable posting with the Jupiter Fleet straight into a world of conspiracies and secrets that could destroy the new, still fragile world order. Captain O'Toole will take command of mankind's first true starship with a secret mission that would be seen as treason by the new federal government. His orders are to use a prototype faster than light drive to travel through dimensions higher than spacetime and ride the expansion of the universe to create an off-books colony solely for the NAU. There are consequences for escaping time's jealous grasp, which instead position them to have a chance to change the course of human history. Fate has called the Indomitable Will and her crew into the Age of Heroes, will they be able to rise to the challenge?
