《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》90: Monday Morning Class

"Okay, little pahoehoes." Michael started in the morning class at the computer software engineering lecture lab. Ever since his abilities in the field was known, almost all persons in the field respected him and found him a valuable individual in all computer-related courses. He even got to teach his fellow classmates, who found his teaching technique with humorous presentation enjoyable.
"I have already designed an interface CAD in each of the computers in front of you." He said, "I have even gone ahead and created a package kit for amateurs- meaning if you get lost, you will need to go and refresh the weekend that is still running in your head, or you really need to go back to graphics and understand it."
The class amusedly laughed.
"Come on, Mike." One student cried out loud, "It's Monday. Anybody can get lost."
Michael looked at him, "Then think it is Tuesday. The brain gets cheated all the time. Cheat yours."
Another laughter filled the class.
"Take this seriously, guys." Michael now looked around the class to all the seated students, each in front of a desktop computer, "It will go to your final add up at the end of the semester. Use the kit in a free-form drawing and design any animation of your choice. The animation should at least have a large colour palette and a wide choice of print front." He started walking to the door, "Put all your effort and hard work in the project. It will mean a lot to you." He then walked out of the room as the class got to work.
The lecturer at the Telecommunication and Information Technology class stood at the lecture podium before her students with Lei and Katelyn beside her, "You should follow the example of these two…" She said while pointing at Lei and Katelyn, "Your studies will be easier and you will find studying easy. Their project work shows excellent vivid descriptions and outlines. If all your projects and studies can be like theirs, you will see the benefits and rewards of it." She dismissed Lei and Katelyn back to their seats before resuming with the lecture.
"I am happy you are in my life." Katelyn whispered at Lei as they walked to their seats.
"Likewise, you sweet thing." Lei whispered back with a smile, "We will be the best and all the others will take our example. Then we will all pass."

Katelyn nodded vivaciously, "Absolutely."
They both got to their seats and sat attentively in the morning class.
"... You should be able to see the Giemsa stain in the blood film in the high-power resolution lens." Tyson led his fellow students in a clinical medicine class in one of the university medical laboratories as the student leader and representative, "Everybody able to see it?"
All the students responded in the affirmative while acutely conscious of the lesson. The lesson was easily explicable in the hands of their representative. With an incredible ability to make people understand concepts, he made lessons easy and clear to understand. That was why he got to teach them most of the time in the course units.
"That's it?" One student asked, as if uncertain if the lesson was supposed to be as easy as it looked, "This is all the procedure for the screening?"
"Surprisingly, yes." Tyson nodded at him, "But you should be able to differentiate all the approaches of screening. There is Giemsa stain- one with also thick or thin film, culture, wet film, ziehl-Nielsen stain, and Gram stain. You should be able to differentiate all these stains."
"Still sounds easy." One female student with an adorable tone of voice said.
"That is how it is supposed to be." Tyson looked at her, "Everything is easy, so long as one understands and grabs the knowledge just like it is taught." He came back to the class, "Okay, let us now finalize things. Clear the specimens from the microscopes and proceed with equipment maintenance before leaving."
As the students responded to the instructions, Nadia walked to the student representative with a proud smile, "Always brilliant and outstanding! You are incredibly gifted." She humbly said.
"Thank you, as always, from the button of my heart." Tyson responded with pleasure.
Nadia stopped before him, her books clutched on her chest, "I always enjoy your classes more than anybody else. You are going to make us all pass."
Tyson warmly smiled, "That makes me feel good to hear."
"You deserve to feel all the good because you are worth it."
After Nadia talked, a student politely interrupted them and showed Tyson a bunch of papers, "Excuse me for a second, guys, I have been doing deep research work on adrenocorticotrophic hormone, arterial blood gases, growth hormones and stuffs. These are my approaches." He gave Tyson the bunch of papers, "I would like you to have a look at them."

Tyson took the papers and looked at them, "You are doing research on adrenocorticotrophic hormones?"
The student widely grinned, "Crazy, huh?"
"Crazy? Brilliant!" Tyson proudly said, "I will see them and get back to you, possibly in the evening."
"Alright." The student nodded and left.
Nadia looked at him go, "I thought I would be second in class. But he has just proved I have to work more extra than hard to achieve one of the best three positions."
Tyson wore an amused expression, "That shouldn't worry you. You have me, and you will achieve any position you wish upon with me."
Nadia radiantly nodded, "Okay. I trust you." She paused for a second, "Can we go and get something to eat? The two hours of clinical practice has emptied my stomach."
"Absolutely." Tyson cheerily smiled, "That is a thought I was just about to say out loud."
"Tomorrow we will be in legal profession." Wanjiku finalized her group work discussion, "Bring your research works for discussions after the morning class. Good day."
After she was done, all the group members started dispersing.
Fernandez got up from his seat and went to one that was close to Wanjiku, "Excellent discussion, just like always." He proudly mentioned.
Wanjiku appreciatively smiled, "Thank you. It is lively to hear that from you."
"Then I should be saying it often."
"Hence making me more happy."
As they continued chatting, Patrick, one of the group members, looked at them tightly from a distant sit. He had been watching the two quite often, and it had been disturbing him, making him hate Fernandez more and more- particularly when the lady looked happy when they were together.
He didn't understand why a white man would force himself on a black woman in a black nation, as if black men didn't exist. He believed the man's intention was using the lady and later throwing her like a dog when he was done with his intentions over her. That is what they do to black women! He had heard of such stories in the continent and firmly believed in them. Hence, he would never allow the lady he greatly adored to be used in such a way.
With rising annoyance and jealousy, he got up from his seat and walked to them.
He stiffly looked at Fernandez then sincerely at the lady, "Wanjiku, can I have a minute with you?"
Wanjiku politely glanced up at him, "Let me finish with Fernandez first. I will shortly be with you."
"It is important!" Patrick stressed in a strict tone, jealousy escalating beyond the reasonable limit.
Fernandez looked at him and back at the lady, "You can see him." He smiled while getting up, "I will call you and finish it over the phone." He farewelled both of them then left.
Wanjiku saw him leave before coming back to Patrick, "So, what is the important thing you want to talk about?"
"It is about that guy." Patrick plainly started.
"Sorry?" Wanjiku looked incredulous.
"Why are you giving in to his advances and ignore the men of your kind as if we do not exist?"
Wanjiku laughed, logically taking it as a joke.
"It isn't funny, Wanjiku! These people come and mock us in our own country. They take advantage of us and use us like we are lab rats. This is what they do and most of us don't even notice."
Wanjiku was suddenly surprised at the friend, wondering where the insolence and absurdity was coming from, "Patrick, that is what results in racism. You think the same here, and they think that we are below them and never will be above them- or that we don't have the right to be above them in their countries, when this shouldn't even be the case.”
“And having such thoughts only damages you from the inside with hatred." The lady got up from her seat and took her books, "It is not sensible to think that all of them have evil or ill-concealed intentions. There are those with great intentions that bring positive impact to us. Look around you for proof." She said and walked away, leaving Patrick staring at her as she walked away.
But he was far from convinced. He would not take any chances with them. These people are dangerous! History showed and proved it. They were only after advantages to themselves and cared less about anything else. He would never take any chance and let the lady be used and taken advantage of. She was supposed to be with her kind, not with an alien type of a kind.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
