The man in front of them salutes and then draws his hand toward his back.

"Let's get down to business."

The three then take a seat as he walks near a blackboard with small white runes surrounding it. The runes start to take form and materialize several photos of cloaked individuals.

"As you may have heard, you're being sent to the Rhaast Battlefront immediately. The battle near the Slakorene District intensified, and a group of mages was seen utilizing magic. Our forces had to scramble due to the intense fire and are now on standby."

Iyuna moved her hand towards her chin and looked down.

"Despite our military strength, with new nations starting to learn about the use of magic, it's hard to combat them since we've had the upper hand for so long."

She looks forward to the board and focuses on a female with a large staff conjuring a ball of fire.

"Interesting… I would assume that you're having trouble because they're using Level-2 magic."

The man tapped the board, making the image larger.

"Correct. The Vytorian Alliance hasn't shown any sign of magical proficiency until now. With this new information, we must get you out on the field as soon as possible."

The Second Lieutenant licks her lips as claws start to grow from her hands.

"You want us to go out there and cause some havoc so you can determine how much firepower they really have."

"As… Eager as ever, Second Lieutenant, but yes. Who knows how long they've had this magic; If they thought it wise to use it in battle, it's more likely that they've even stronger weaponry and magic at their disposal.

Calina stands up while smacking her fist into her left palm.

"Well, why are we still here? Let's get this party started!"

The adviser held two fingers to the side of his head.

"You heard that Specialist Haze, they're ready for transport."

A white veil appeared to the side of the male adviser as a caramel-skinned woman stepped out. Her black hair was tinted white and shaped at a bun on the top. She wore a black cloak that wavered as she took the final step outside the gateway.

"P-please don't call me Haze… Zara is totally acceptable."

The male advisor laughed and pat her on the back.

"Whatever you say, Haze!"

She sighed while gesturing toward the white portal.

"This gate takes you to the outskirts of the Slakorene District. You're all ready to go, correct?"

The three females stared with interest at the doorway in front of them; Iyuna, most of all, whisked her tail in intrigue.

"Wait… So we don't have to touch a mage for teleportation magic to work… You can summon a gate autonomously?"

"Well… This is still Level-3, so it's not all that stable, but I've managed to teleport several people without fail."

The male adviser places a hand on Zara's shoulder.

"She's currently one of the Kingdom's best mages when it comes to Level-3 Bizarro Magic. If there's anyone qualified for this, it's her."

Calina's feet stray forward as her eyes reflect the white gateway in her pupils.

Calina, the second to come through the gate, witnesses a secluded town with smoke rising from destroyed structures and half-burnt cabins. The grass below hers is tinted yellow and black, covered in soot.

"Slakorene… Our only neighboring district to the Vytorian Alliance; I never liked us being so close to such utter scum."

Iyuna appears from the white gateway and sighs.

"Despite what our intel said, we're only here for recon. If they do have mages, they'll be heavily protected. No need to put ourselves in immediate danger."

Yanami kicks a pile of rubble and shields a boisterous yawn with her palm.

"Enough planning, let's fly!"

She gets on all fours, and her pale skin starts to darken to a scaley blueish-orange tint. Her size starts to increase as large black claws grow from her hands and feet. Her mouth grows into a snout with sharp teeth while her eyes grow from white to dark yellow with black pupils. The tail on her back grows in length and girth along with the black pointed horns on her head.

The buildings surrounding them fail to compare to her in size. She easily grows several feet high while spreading her gigantic wings.

"BRAAAAAUR!"

She lets out a roar while taking the form of a large blue dragon. Her mouth let out a small blue flame as she looked toward her comrades.

"Let's get going, Calina."

Iyuna jumped onto the dragon while grasping onto one of its scales.

Yanami's wings start to create dust clouds on the ground below. Several of the buildings started to shutter from the force of the heavy winds.

Calina leaped towards the dragon and took a seat on its massive back.

"BRAAAUR!"

The dragoness took flight as she soared into the air heading opposite the high sun.

—Fwush Fwush

Her wings flapped righteously as Iyuna's hand pointed toward the ground ahead of them.

"There!"

A huge plain was surrounded by walls of concrete protecting a large stone castle. A group of mages and other armored individuals can be seen running to and fro on the inner sides of the castle.

"BRAUR!"

The dragoness began to lower herself near a group of tents stationed below them. A group of armored knights moves from below her as they stare in awe.

—Clank Clank

Calina's armored boots buckle as they touch the grassy terrain along with Iyuna. Yanami starts to reverse her transformation and takes her regular humanoid form.

A group of paladins rushes over to greet them.

"General Calina, ma'am!" They all salute while keeping up with her stride towards the gate's outermost walls.

"What's the situation? What sort of attacks has the enemy mage produced?"

A shorter paladin carrying a large two-pronged pike kept up with her pace.

"The enemy mages have used several fire and earth-based attacks. As soon we start to advance, several mages emerge from their towers and start a bombardment."

Yanami jumps towards Calina's side, the left portion of her body morphing from her dragon form.

"Do we know where the mages are located? Why don't we attempt to unload a surprise attack?"

"We weren't issues any mages for this excursion, and most of them are battling at the Gurge Front." Another paladin to the right of me answered.

The towering outer walls created shadows as Calina peered past them to the large parchment-colored fortress.

"And I'm assuming every time you try to engage they start to fire at you without mercy…"

The male paladin gulped while nodding.

"Well, I think there's only one solution to this."

Calina's eyes met with Iyuna's as she displays a menacing grin.

"I don't think we have time for recon… I'm thinking an all-out assault on their castle!"
