《The Legacy of Gilgamesh》Chapter 9 The Five Kings

Rico was surprised when his consciousness entered the Cradle.
The original Three Great Clans' mosquitoes, earthworms, and ants are no longer there. Instead, a hundred insect clans battle it out for supremacy. He discovered, after reading the Cradle records, that the Three Great Clans engaged in a severe conflict and, as a result, obtained an equal share of the pork, the mosquitoes, ants, and earthworms followed by a delectable feast. After eating the pork, the Three Great Clans and the entire bug group began to die. In fewer than three days, the Cradle Three Great Clans lost more than 95% of its members.
"It might be an illness, similar to African swine fever and it seems to have mutated thanks to the soul energy. But such an influx of contaminated meat ought to have been stopped, yet it appears that some unscrupulous businessmen are still selling it. I have been conned, you crook bastards." Rico furiously pondered.
The Three Great Clans group's decline offered the other races an opportunity to flourish they are the Centipede Clan, Cockroach Clan, Seven Stars Clan, Grasshopper Clan, and Meris Clan. Because they were the most powerful bug group, Rico gave them the appellation "The Five Kings." The cockroach is the immortal, the centipede is the king of kings, and Meris Clan is the most dreaded of them all. Despite being powerful, these new insects cannot match the Three Great Clans at their height.
The Meris Clan race was developed by shrubs in the Cradle. The Meris Clan, albeit still a long-standing superpower, fell behind the great clan when the big three dominated throughout their age. The evolution of shrubs was aided by mana absorption, and a few thousand years later, a better and more advanced Meris Clan appeared.
The Meris Clan uses its vines to trap and kill any bug that enters their territory. The smallest members of the clan are around 78 centimeters tall, while the oldest and largest are 4 meters long and have a high degree of knowledge. The Meris Clan has only a little over 300 members, but they are incredibly strong.

The cockroach group is the second-strongest and most numerous group. The cockroach group hails from the same prehistoric period that Rico calls Genesis. They are insects with practically cheat like abilities; they can fly or crawl on the ground. It measures 40 centimeter in length, has 3,000 or more of them, and possesses some great teamwork.
The centipede group is the third-largest group. They were the first group to appear in Genesis along with the Three Great Clans. The centipede is vicious and skilled at poison use. Its length is almost 50 centimetres, and there are more than 2,000 of them. The remaining Seven Stars Clan group and the grasshoppers are significantly weaker, numbering only 500–600. The smaller bug species numbers about 40 to 100 and constantly live in fear and are in imminent danger of going extinct
The Three Great Clan member was still alive, but because of the catastrophe, they were weakened, and another insect took their place. Their power was lost to history, and they were currently hiding on the edge of the world and struggling to survive.
Some members of the insect group were able to develop sentient intelligence thanks to the Soul energy in the Cradle. Rico thought this was fascinating.
Even though the insects in the Cradle are wise, they are not as noteworthy as people in the real world. Their knowledge is comparable to a human child's IQ at three or four years old. Two thousand years ago, the 100,000 soul energy of the Three Great Clans was absorbed by the Cradle, which then grew from 1,200 meters to its present size of 3,000 meters. And thinken the atmosphere in more soul energy.
Rico absorbs the equivalent of 1,000 insects worth of soul energy last time. The soul energy was compressed by the Cradle into mana, receiving 1 digit of mana which is equivalent to 1 point of World Source. Mana had great power, at least half a ton of sheer physical power per unit of mana.

The Five Kings. Each of the five groups contains over 30,000 individuals. The Cradle only maintained track of a few hundred or thousand members since they were the ones with sentient intelligence. Intelligent creatures can contribute 0.01 World Source, but non-intelligent creatures can only provide 0.0005 World Source.
Due to the heightened potency of their souls, creatures with sentient intelligence appear to give 10 times more soul essence than creatures without sentient intelligence. Thousands of ordinary creatures can provide 1 unit of mana, and 100 intelligent ones can provide 1 unit of mana more or less.
One mana digit may provide half a ton of power. According to Rico, there are people on Earth who have dedicated their entire lives to the practice of bodybuilding or rigorous martial arts training who are equivalent to him in terms of strength. This also strengthened Rico's resolve to pursue the path of a creator.
Rico noticed a group of five or six creatures under a bush just as he was about to have a closer look at the Five Kings. Their skin looks like tree bark, covered with many fissures, and they resemble humanoids with two arms and two legs.
