《BLOODTHIRSTY》50. Avoid

Silence surrounded him as Winter was fast asleep in his arms. Small breaths left her lips and her chest slowly rose up and down. Indicating that she was in fact alive. He had loved to hold her in his arms. He had loved to stay in bed and just hear her heartbeat yet he stood up from the bed. Taking the blanket on the bed to cover her body before he got ready to start the day.
The palace was quiet, the guards stood up straight as their king passed them by. 'Good morning' each guard would whisper with kindness. More than happy to actually be there. Arculus would smile and acknowledge them however he would not respond to them. When he reached his office he sat down. Taking deep breaths because he found himself being irritated for a valid reason.
"I know you're there." Arculus spoke with annoyance pretty obvious in his tone.
The entire place had been quiet since it was just him however small laughter could be heard. "I'm sorry my king didn't mean to upset you." The voice said amused but somewhere he was indeed sincere.
"You're the shadow that had been following Winter around right? Do you mind explaining why?" He asked angry because the thought of someone following the Queen of the underworld irks his soul.
"Asking questions that you already have the answers to?" The shadow asked smiling as he was hidden.
Arculus had been ready to ask something else however the shadows wasn't with him in the room anymore. He took a deep breath as a way to calm himself down. He stood up from his chair and looked out of the window. Watching his kingdom that belonged to him. His pride and ego had grown for the past months. Feelings as if nothing could stop him. He teleported himself out of the palace. Demons that were already awake did not even dare to look the king in his eyes. He smiled at the power he held it made him happy to even know that there were some people that feared him.
He entered the flames of hell. Or better yet the underground. It was the place were all the demons that had rebelled against him were being kept. Arculus didn't like torturing his own kind, so he simply didn't do that. Yet there were demons that had convinced themselves they had the right to hurt the she demons that were powerless.
Most demons in the kingdom were of higher ranking. Which means they were powerful enough to fight off other beings. But not every single one of the demons were made to fight in combats and Arculus would never force anyone to risk their lives for the kingdom. He had an ego and sometimes he could be arrogant but somewhere he still was kind. All the demons that did not fight were just here living their lives. Doing what made them happy. So when one of the demons rebelled and disrespected him by hurting one of the demons in his kingdom he felt offended.
"King Arculus." One of the guards said out loud and lowered his head. "The demons is chained up but he can control flames my lord. Some of the guards has been burned." The guard reported to Arculus like he was supposed to.
Arculus nodded and stepped inside of the cage. The demons was chained up and Arculus was angered. The lack of respect that the demon was showing him had made him want to rip the demons in half.
"You believe you deserve my mercy?" Arculus asked as with raised eyebrows.

"Who gives a shit about your mercy." The demon laughed as he tried to burn Arculus with his flames. Yet nature has never hated Arculus. It didn't when he was raised by the spirits and it wasn't going to start now. So when the flames touched his skin and he could not feel a thing the demon looked surprised.
"W-why aren't you burning?" The demon had asked confused.
"It seems like you don't realise to who you are talking to." Arculus approached slowly. Letting his claws free and placed it on the demons throat.
"Taking The from of a human will not make me feel bad about ending your life." He said as his eyes started to glow red, cutting his neck open like he had wanted to do the first time he had heard what had happened.
"The she-demon you hurt was your own wife." He said as he made the demon bleed out on the floor.
"In thing kingdom we do not put our hands on woman, demon or not." Arculus raised his voice and the demons was quiet.
"Demons were not supposed to have romantic feelings. Demons were not supposed t-to be able feeling that way." The demon said and it was clearly frustrated.
"You are free to do what you want as long as you don't disobey my rules. Even if you were frustrated it was not a reason to put your hands on her." Arculus said annoyed and slowly backed up.
"Im sorry your majesty." Arculus heard right before he stepped out of his kingdom. It had made him smile.
Winter didn't know how she knew but she could feel that Arculus was finally home. However she was too busy looking at her exposed back. She looked at the signs that were written on her back which had made her confused. It wasn't there when she was a child. The Sign looked more like a small drawing, small dots around a sun. She wondered what it meant, she wondered why she only noticed it know.
"Arculus?" She called out and waited for him to magically appear in their room.
"Yes snowflake?" He had asked as he walked in the bathroom. Seeing Winter looking at her reflection.
"W-what's that? I'm sure I didn't have that before." Her voice filled with worry and Arculus just smiled at her.
"That's me." He said simply as he hugged her from behind.
Arculus wasn't trying to steal glancing from Winter, but she wasn't wearing much and he couldn't help it. The Queen was gorgeous, she had always been breathtaking. From her coils and curly hair to her skin that seemed to be kissed by the moon goddess herself. She was his sun and the most important person in his life. She had brightened his life and his soul.
"What do you mean?" She has asked confused. "And why are you looking at me like that?" Winter had asked.
"When you became my bride you were marked. Which means that you will be recognised as someone that is aloud to enter the underworld whenever you wishes, and it shows everyone that you are Queen. But of course the last part isn't important since everyone already know that you are Queen. The mark also connects me with you." Arculus explained to her and Winter rolled her eyes.
"Well I was scared for a minute you could have at least told me that sooner." She said as she laughed. Finally dressing herself and putting on the dress that had been costume made.

"There are maids that can help with that." Arculus said as he saw how she was struggling with putting It on.
Winter smiled to herself. "Why have maids when you can do it too." She asked and arculus cold hand trailed down her exposed back. Winter shivered and turned around to face him when he was done helping her putting her dress on. His lips finding his way back to her neck. Kissing every single spot he could see.
She had wanted to enjoy it, but she couldn't. Winter was aware that he had changed but he was not saying much about it. His temper and his anger that were constantly making an appearance were starting to worry her, and after being her for months it was starting to sink into her. She truly married a demon, and not just any demon. No he was the king of the underworld ruling over his kingdom because it did indeed belong to him. Yet it was harder for her to understand where his anger came from. Why was he always angry and snapping at people?
Arculus glanced at Winter when he noticed she wasn't really saying anything or whispering his name like she usually does. Instead she was zoning out, thinking about something he had no idea about.
"Winter?" He asked and she looked up at him. Her expression making clear that she was upset about something.
"It Has only been a couple of months since I have been here." She said her voice soft and gentle. "And I don't mind if you have changed Arculus. Humans change too after a period of time but I..." she was silent again. Trying to find the right words, while this situation was crushing Arculus. He had hoped that this moment wasn't coming this soon.
"I just want you to consider others people emotions, and give people the chance to explain themselves." She said not looking him in the eyes.
"I'm a demon Winter. The person you met back on earth was when my identity was taken from me, and my angel side was more dominant than usually." He tried to explain to her. "T-that person wasn't me. However who I am now is the real me. Where my angel side is not dominating the other." He explained to her.
She nodded her head in understanding. "I understand and I don't mind. I have already accepted you for who you are, I just want you to speak to me about your feelings." She said and before Arculus could say something back someone knocked on their bedroom door.
"There is an issue around the border." One of the guard said and Arculus glanced at Winter before teleporting himself.
"We will talk about this later." He said as he left her all alone in the bathroom that was connected to the bedroom.
She was bothered by that, perhaps she was even upset. He was running away again instead of talking about his feelings. How was she supposed to know what he was thinking or feeling if he wasn't telling her? Winter left the bedroom and walked towards the darkest room in the house were she had been many times, the same room where she had first met the shadow. When she had entered the room she sat down on one of the chairs around the table. Deep in thoughts and also worried.
"Are you upset my Queen?" A voice asked and Winter looked up in surprise.
"I'm not upset I just wanted him to talk to me, but I guess we will after he has fixed the issues around the border." She said smiling still hopeful about the situation.
"I'm sure he will." The voice said and chuckles followed.
Winter looked up at the shadow less scared as she used to be. "Can you change into more forms than a shadow?" She asked curious getting the best of her.
"Yes, I can." The shadow answered simply.
"Can you change into a human form?" Winter asked getting too excited.
"Yes, yes I can." The voice answered again simply and in a calm tone.
"How come you have never done that? Maybe I wouldn't have been so scared if I could have actually seen you." She said amused and the shadow chuckled softly.
"You never asked your majesty, you should just ask and I'll give you anything you wish for." Winter was taken back when she heard the words that the shadow had uttered.
"Your loyalty to me is confusing, I'm pretty sure I wasn't even born when you already existed." Winter said confused.
The shadow again chuckled softly at the Queen's words. The shadow finds the Queen to be a little oblivious maybe even naive and she was a bit sensitive. She had no idea what kind of power she held even if she was just a human that happened to meet the king of the underworld. The shadow approached her however it made sure not to scare her.
"Is there anything you would want me to do your majesty?" The shadow had asked and Winter laughed softly.
"Well can you show your human form please?" She asked politely and the shadow had no choice but the obey.
In just a blink of an eye a human like being was standing in front of him. Curly hair and a tanned skin. His eyes were black and it had surprised Winter how it looked so mesmerising. Even if she saw how he had transformed in front of her, she still stood up to poke the being in its side to see if it was indeed real and her eyes were not playing tricks on her.
"Wow." She said in amazement. "Well do you have a name? Or should I just keep on calling you shadow?" She asked with wonder.
"Aakan." The being told her as she still glanced at him in disbelief.
"So you have been following me around because your a guard?" She wondered out loud completely confused.
"I'm really offended my Queen, a guard? I'm not just a guard, I'm your royal guard. Made to protect you against harm." Aakan said with a beautiful smile plastered on his face. Pride pretty evident as he spoke.
"I'm safe with Arculus, there is no need for a personal guard." She said amused as she stood up from her seat.
"The prophecy says other wise." He told her as his smile suddenly disappeared.
"W-what prophecy?" She had asked confused and worried. Before Aakan could even answer the door was opened and Arculus had been standing there with Amon looking at the Queen and an unknown being.
Amon raised his eyebrows as he watched the way the unknown being in the room was staring back at him, not averting his gaze. Showing him that the being did not fear anything. "Who the hell are you?" Amon asked already not liking the being.
"Amon you don't just greet people like that." Winter told him as she smiled softly at the demon that always managed to be irritated and grumpy.
"Well I wouldn't greet him that way if you weren't alone in a room with someone I have never met." Amon had wanted to push the being away from Winter but he knew that the Queen would not like that.
"I'm Aakan, her personal guard." He informed everyone in the room and Arculus realised who he was talking to.
"You are showing your human form a little too late don't you think?" Arculus had finally openend his mouth. Glancing at the being uncertain if he had to be angry or not.
"Well it just took the Queen a long time to ask me to reveal my human form." The being said amused as he watched Arculus in the eyes. Noticing the irritation and the annoyance Aakan was bringing to Arculus.
Arculus wasn't a very possessive man. He had never been before and he sure wasn't one now. Yet he just didn't like the being that was surrounding Winter and spending most of its time watching her. It irks his soul to just think about it.

My Life As A Superhero Slash Supervillain
James Jude Jamison is experiencing something a bit odd. He was sitting quietly at his computer desk, playing some kind of RPG, he couldn't which one, although the fate of the universe rests on him remembering which (Oh well, it had to end sometime). So, anyway, suddenly, out of nowhere, he got a bit of a headachne, his nose started to bleed, he then proceeded to make a mess in the family room at the computer room. His mom shouted at him, then he died. Then he woke up. He was reborn. Only he had a UI screen suddenly at the edge of his vision. What the hell. He was meant to have some cool powers, like lazers that shot out of his nipples, maybe some mad dancing skills. He would finally be able to speak to girls without laughing in their faces. Sigh. So this is his story, of how he couldn't decide which career prospect appealed to him more. So he decides to give both being a hero and a villain a go. What could go wrong? *** Edit: 2017.06.18 - 03:08 am EST - JJ seems to have buggered off somewhere without telling me where he went. So I am going to have to piece together this story back from the start with the fragments that he gave me. I will leave the original chapters up, but I will be renaming them so they are obvious if new readers don't want to read them. I am currently trying to write chapter one anew. It will feature new reasons of why JJ starts with the villainous lifestyle first, and the reasons of why he is granted the power he was given. If JJ does come back, I will inform you thusly. Then it will be decision of writing from where he left off or telling him to go choke on his own c**k. If I do decide to take the story up, then it will be a decision of to split the stories in two, and if to keep my version alive and concurrent. Thanks.
