《BLOODTHIRSTY》43. A small Trip to the heavens

White walls so tall that it even amazed him. His mother, Queen kezhera was besides him looking at the place in disgust. Arculus knocked on the golden gate that separated them with heaven. Yet his mother just broke the gate down. Entering heaven as if she owned it. The angels that were supposed to be protecting the gate looked confused.

"You aren't supposed to come inside uninvited demon." An angel spoke up and the Queen raised her eyebrows.

"Do you have a death wish?" She asked him completely calm yet her eyes betrayed her. "If that is the case, you should have said so." She told him while Arculus looked at the pair and shook his head.

"Mother I don't think-" Arculus was cut off by his mother screams.

"If Azeric does not get down here in 5 seconds I'll find him myself."

"You cannot make such a decision." The angel said irritated.

"1."

"Mom calm down please." Arculus tried to calm his mother down yet she seemed to only grow more angry.

"2."

"I'll call backup if you do not leave now." The angel said and arculus couldn't stop the smile that formed on his face. As if an entire army would be enough to make him or his mother leave.

"3."

A bright light appeared from thin air. It looked like a person. The god of heaven stood in front of them in all his glory. The god was powerful, Arculus could tell. The man that was supposed to be his uncle was elegant in every single way. Azeric smiled down at his beloved sister and gently touched her hair. The kindness that he radiated made Arculus feel as if Azeric was not the one that started a war. Azeric averted his gaze and glanced at Arculus, the smile on his face never leaving.

"I have seen you as a baby. Your mother thought I had no idea of your birth and your father thought he could fool me." Azeric spoke while he pulled his little nephew for a hug.

"I'm glad you have grown up to be more like me. Well only when you are in a good mood, you resemble your mother quite a lot when you are angry...sadly." Azeric said as he glanced at Kezrha.

"Either way why didn't you call me little sister?" He asked with raised eyebrows and Kezrha scoffed.

"You wanted to start a war and dethrone me and claim it as yours, and you wanted me to call?" Her mother asked the god of heaven.

Azeric smiled and his eyes lit up. "That wasn't me that was the council, you know how they can be." He tried to justify it but Arculus raised his eyebrows.

Arculus approached the man to look him in the eyes. They stood not so far form each other and he could feel how irritated he got all of a sudden. "Angel were badly hurt. Is that really an excuse?" He wondered when he glanced at the man with light hair and bright eyes. "It was caused by me and I know, but we are both wrong here. This makes me question the whole good and evil concept that your people made up." Arculus spoke up with so much authority, that his mother glanced at him a couple of times. He wasn't crowned king yet, but it felt like he already was.

"I suppose you're right, but I'm sure this is not the reason both of you decided to grace me with your presence." Azeric spoke up while snapping in his fingers.

All of a sudden they were in a room. A really bright room that it almost blinded Arculus. It reminded him of the same room he had seen in his dreams. The entire time he felt it too. He has been here before and he was so certain.

"I need you to stop the war officially Azeric." His mother spoke up and all Azeric did was glance at Arculus.

"The war is over when he choose to end it." He said simply while putting something to drink for Arculus and Kezrha.

Kezrha glanced at her son in surprise. "What do you mean?"

Azeric laughed while he glanced at the two beings that were supposed to be so powerful, yet so clueless. "Do you want me to explain the real reason the ancient council started a war?" He asked them already knowing there was a big possibility Arculus would kill him on the spot. Either way they all agreed and let Azeric explain.

"A pretty girl with darker skin and beautiful eyes. A soul so pure that she cannot bring harm to others even if she wanted to. So mesmerising even a demon could not keep his hands off." Azeric spoke as if he was telling a tale, but the story he was telling had no good ending. "She has been kissed by angels in her sleep and graced with such a beauty. Yet her faith doesn't look good. Not for her or her loved ones. The human you love so much Arculus, has actually died." Arculus tried his best to stay under control. Closing his eyes for w brief moment and hoping his eye colour will change back to a dark brown.

"The council knew about the fact you will one day fall so deeply in love, so they planned everything to take her away from you. They tried to give you a bad name which they succeeded in. Humans have seen you slaughter everything and everyone in your way, do you think they will ever forget? And on top of that no living creature will be okay with you ruling." Azeric told him whole sipping on his warm green thee.

"You could have stopped this." The Queen said angry yet even Arculus seemed to be calm.

"I could have but I didn't, because toying with someone's lives always bite you back later on." Arculus listened attentively to what Azeric had said so far.

"You said there was no good end for the girl and her loved ones, that she actually died? What do you mean by that?" Arculus asked while his heart was on the table, completely exposed and vulnerable.

"Losing her life can be traumatic but coming back? That is even more of a surprise. Imagine thinking you will not live or see any of your loved ones and accept your faith. Dying while saying goodbye just for you to come back alive?" Arculus understood what Azeric meant.

The same person that never spoke about her problems and never wanted to bothered anyone achieved the complete opposite. She would rather die than actually worrying others. She wouldn't want to have her family cry by her passing away. Winter would never want to hurt anyone anyway. Arculus thought that living was what she wanted, but it wasn't about living or dying. It was about her shame and guilt, it was about her embarrassment and perhaps even her pride.

"I have to go." He said while standing up yet Azeric stopped him from going anywhere.

"If you visit her now Arculus, you will make her feel like a burden." Azeric reminded him. "She doesn't like feeling that way and I'm sure you know that." Arculus raised his eyebrows at the man.

"How do you know that?" He asked Azeric and he smiled again.

"I know everything." Azeric said simply while he smiled again. The man reminded Arculus of the sun, both were so bright and warm at the same time.

His mother and him returned to the underworld. His heart already broken and he wasn't feeling okay at all. The underworld was darker than usual. Most of the time at day time the sky would be a light blue colour, in some part of the underworld it would be red. Yet today there was darkness everywhere. Perhaps he caused it, the sky matched his mood. He felt such a pain in his chest that he couldn't bring himself to breath.

All of this because of a mere human. Perhaps everyone thought he was overreacting and exaggerating, but it wasn't just about her. It was about him being so heartbroken he wouldn't know what to do. His two most trusted demons were waiting for him in the living area. Orobas was avoiding eyecontact while Amdusias looked at him with worry in his eyes.

"Is there something bothering the both of you?" Arculus asked curious.

"You should have told us someone was going after Winter." Amdusias said slightly annoyed.

"You already knew." Arculus said while he could feel his headache forming.

"We only knew that she was staying with Lazarus because she needed protection. If you had told us the story about her father's passing away or the story about her grandparents than maybe we could have done more than just watch her die." Amdusias said angry and raised his voice.

Arculus was taken back by Amdusias out burst. For someone that had thrown knives at her, he sure was concerned for her well being. "Since when did you care so much about her Amdusias?" Arculus asked him curiously.

"Since the day I realised that she will be the future Queen of the underworld." Amdusias replied and Arculus almost chocked on his water.

Orobas nodded his head and glanced at Arculus. "Since it's already too late I won't complain about what could have been. But you really should have said something." Orobas said and saw the regret and worry in Arculus eyes.

"Dreams have meaning right?" Arculus asked out of the blue and Amdusias nodded his head.

"Of course it does." Amdusias answered calmly.

"There is something bad coming." Arculus informed them and Orobas sighed.

"Again?" Orobas asked tiredly. Arculus nodded his head yet didn't answer. He wasn't going to explain his entire dream to them.

Giving her space was something important and he knew, yet he still went back to earth. Sitting in the darkness in the corner of her room. Arculus was sure she knew he was there. Her heartbeat he loved hearing so much sped up. He could tell she was nervous, yet he didn't know why. What was there to be nervous for?

Winter turned around in her bed, the room she was staying in wasn't familiar. Lazarus bought a house really far away from the previous one. This house was also located closer to the beach. If the circumstances were different, she would have enjoyed it a lot. If she hadn't died and her chest didn't hurt so much, she would have enjoyed everything. Winter was still shocked from what had happend, being grabbed from this very room. To being transported to the battlefield. All of this just so they could watch her, so he could see her bleed to death and drop dead. When the dagger had struck her she thought it was over, and the things she had seen for the split second her soul left her body was terrifying. So terrifying, it was as if her entire heart was wrapped around darkness. Normally she would be the one brightening a room, but this time it seemed as if she only darkened it.

Everything was so upsetting for her. Winter didn't feel like anything will go back to how it used to be. Even if she had hoped for things to be that way, she was sure there was no way thing could go back to how it was supposed to be. That thought alone pained her.

"Do everything seems so dark and unpleasant to you? Do you feel the darkness that is surrounding you, perhaps the emptiness and maybe the loneliness?" Winter asked while she tried to share her thoughts, yet she was in anger. She was in pain and she was suffering.

"It was a nightmare, such a big nightmare. Having to stand in line between millions of souls. With all sort of creatures making sure I didn't do anything suspicious. The worst about this all is when you die, you don't change forms. You're still in the same state as you left your body." Winter shared and tried so hard not to cry, yet her body was shaking and it felt like her world was crushing down. "The dagger in my chest didn't leave. I tried pulling it out myself yet it didn't budge." Winter shared with Arculus and a piece of his heart broke on the spot.

"I know you're there Arculus." Winter said this time crying, she was struggling with breathing.

"You should rest Snowflake." He whispered calmly yet she did not like the answer.

"Why aren't you listening? Why isn't anyone listening?" Arculus was taken back when she raised her voice. If it had been someone else he would have said something, yet he just glanced at Winter with worry in his eyes.

"I don't want to be laying in a fucking bed, having to see everyone feeling so much pity towards me. I-I don't want that." She cried and he wanted to approach her but he listened to her instead, just like she had wished for.

"Why does it feel like everyone is still mourning me? Mother hasn't came to visit me since I returned, my brother is too scared to look me in the eyes, and I can still hear the way Lente screamed when her eyes landed on me when I returned. Her eyes was filled with pain Arculus, everyones eyes were filled with pain. And I know that yours is too. I don't want to feel like a burden. I-" Winter stopped talking when Arculus finally came into view.

He caressed her cheeks softly, tracing her lips with his fingers. Taking a mental note of her face, listening to her heartbeat that sounded like music to his ears. Arculus smiled when he was able to hear her heartbeat.

"I would kiss the ground you walk on." He said and sat down on her bed, making sure not to crush her. "I would give you everything you want, anything your heart desires. However there is only so much I can do. You're not a burden, and everyone thinks the same. Everyone is just shocked. No one expected for you to die." He said as he kissed her cheeks.

"You see you're loved by everyone, the thought of losing you sounds like a curse given to us all." He tried to explain to her and it seemed she was slowly understand and seeing things from others perspective.

She was quiet and Arculus could tell she needed some time to recover. Not only was she shocked herself, she wasn't complaining healed either. He stood up ready to walk away yet she grabbed his arm. "W-where are you going?" She asking him with raised eyebrows.

"You need to rest Winter." He said but simply but it was actually him trying to avoid a situation he didn't want to be in.

"Don't leave me please." She said and Arculus had no choice but to stay.

He laid in her bed beside her, not touching her since he was scared he would hurt her. However he felt her move besides him. Her head was placed on his chest and half of her body was on his. "Doesn't your wound hurt? I don't want to you to be in pain." He said yet Winter didn't budge.

"It hurts less." She tried to say yet Arculus still tried to get her off him.

But than her scent hit him in the face and he stood still for a moment. It reminded him of the day Amdusias tried to throw knives at her and he ended up laying in bed with Winter. Her heartbeat was so relaxing.

"Why aren't you saying something?" She asked a little amused. He finally wrapped his arms around her too.

"I love you." He said before she could fall asleep.

"I love you too." She answered as she fell asleep in his arms. Away from any danger. Arculus knew he still had to find the person that did that to her. He wouldn't be able to sleep until the person was found, and killed.
