《BLOODTHIRSTY》36. The prince

The way everyone was quiet and said nothing probably made the two demons uncomfortable. Orobas wanted to leave the son with his mother, perhaps it was a good time for bonding. However Amdusias didn't think it would be a smart idea to leave them, if would be more awkward than it already was.

"So Euh...the weather is nice huh?" Amdusias said while scratching his neck. Orobas glanced at him looking at him amused.

"Yeah...Euh the trees be looking hella pretty today." Orobas said while looking around the room.

The Queen looked away from her son. Staring at the two demons completely confused. "You two have been on earth far too long I see. The weather has always been the same, and there is no 'trees' in the underworld Orobas." She laughed at the demons she loved like her own kids.

The two demons laughed for a brief second, and Arculus was sure he had never heard Amdusias laugh before. However he looked around him, looking at the woman he was supposed to call mother. Images flashed inside of his head of him as a kid and his mother running after him. The smile on his face was really, the joy he had been feeling was real. Yet right now he felt upset, perhaps even angry.

"Those are your real memories son." She said while looking at him with a sad smile.

"Real? So my memories are coming back?" He said confused and a hint of anger evident in his voice.

"They were never gone, your dad just made sure you would not remember anything after you left the underworld. He did this all to protect you son. Everything we ever did was to protect you." The two demons could feel how this conversation was about to take a turn and excused themselves from the room. Since they didn't want to witness that.

"You really had to take my memories away? People can track me down by knowing what I can remember?" Arculus asked as he looked at the lady.

"No, but we were scared you would come back and put yourself in danger." The mother spoke in worry and Arculus could tell how she was being honest. The woman was indeed worried. Yet there were still things they could have done differently. Things that would have made sure this all was not happening.

"Is there a weapon that can actually kill me?" Arculus asked, remember what Amdusias had told him before.

"You're not human Arculus-" The woman had never the change to finish her sentence.

"I know but can a weapon made in the underworld kill me?" Arculus asked curious.

"You're God Arculus, powerful enough to take on both gods from heaven and the ocean. What makes you think a simple weapon can kill you boy? Get that idea out of your head." The Queen said slightly angry at the fact that he even asked her such a thing.

"If you know that than why did you send me away?" The sadness he had been trying to mask had finally found its way above the surface.

"You were a kid back than. Even if you were strong in my eyes you were a baby. My little boy and I'll do anything to protect you son. I'll rather be sure that you were safe than sorry." She said while placing her hand on his cheeks.

Arculus took steps back removing his mother's hands off of him. He could see the hurt expression on his face, he could tell that he had hurt him. However it didn't matter to him at all. She was a stranger after all, they just met right? It should matter to him at all, he shouldn't feel like that expression was hurting his entire body. Yet it still did and he hated himself for causing it.

"You only looked for me when a war is going to break out, a damn war that I do not even want to lead. Everyone is saying the war is about me. But I know everyone is lying. Is enlighten me, what is it really about?" Arculus asked the woman and she turned around to sit back down on her throne.

The Queen sat back down and made sure her crown wasn't going to fall off. "When I birthed you, word spread around. The child that had been born wasn't just a demon like It was supposed to be. The more people found out the more they become worried. Creatures wanted to see for themselves, however the ancient council were mad. They wanted to eliminate the threat. However after you were hidden for so long it wasn't about you anymore. More about the council feeling like I can not do my job well. Those damned beings are going to tell me, the goddess of the underworld that is the only one capable and allowed to pass judgment that I can not do my job well?" The Queen scoffed and adjusted her crown.

"They pissed off the wrong person. I'll shall not show them mercy. If Azeric wasn't such a scared cat he would actually stand up to them." The Woman complained.

"They are trying to dethrone you?" Arculus said suprised, he didn't see this coming.

"Yes but don't worry son I'll have their heads. I Will even send it back to heaven of they want." The Queen spoke with confidence. She spoke with so much certainty in her voice that he almost believed her.

"Royals don't get their hands dirty." Arculus repeated the words he had heard Lazarus tell him.

"That Rule became invalid when they choose to miss with my kingdom. I do not take this lightly. Everything I do, I do it for my demons. They have the audacity to spoke ill about them, I'll make sure to keep some body parts as decoration." The woman said and Arculus was a little surprised.

"Isn't that doing too much?" Arculus asked her with raised eyebrows.

"You already look like your father, don't tell me you have his personality too." The Queen whispered under her breath.

"I actually heard that." Arculus said while thinking more about the situation. They didn't want to abandon him, this was all for protection. However it still hurts, he can still feel how growing up In oblivion made him feel so uncertain.

"You know son we may have not been looking for you, but that is because we know you would eventually find your way home. We have all been waiting for you to return home." The woman he was supposed to call mother spoke up.

The door that was covered in gold was suddenly opened by a group of men. Their gold eyes stood out, all of them was in their human form. However they had stones ingraved in their bodies. Grey stones that seemed to not be on their bodies. Wearing silver amour and holding swords in their hands. When their eyes landed on him, the all took their helmets off. Placing it on their chest and kneeling in front of him. Arculus looked confused to what was happening.

"You have finally returned home." One if the men spoke up.

"Glad to see you're doing great prince Arculus." It hadn't sunk in to him that he was royalty. Arculus was actually taken-back by them.

"Euh...I mean thank you?" Arculus said while scratching his neck.

The men smiled at him, and it made him realise how earth indeed had put ideas in his head that were incorrect. Those men seemed to be part of the army here in the underworld. He had this image of them being evil. Them doing deeds that were not okay. But Arculus looked longer at all of them. Preparing for battle, trying to protect what matter to them. Trying to protect their Queen. They weren't fighting because they enjoyed it, they were fighting because they needed to. Fighting because they wanted to peace they had going on right now.

Arculus didn't expect him to feel such empathy with them. He didn't expect for him to react such a way towards them. Yet the bruises and bandages made it harder for him to not feel a type of way.

"I came to inform you that the angels have made their moves already. They are trying to invade in the east side where our guards aren't with a lot." One of the men spoke up.

"Why didn't you fight back Adamon?" The Queen asked concerned for her soldier.

"We were protecting our own, we didn't have te intention on hurting them. Besides you didn't not give us any orders your majesty." The guards were still kneeling and only looked up when they were spoken to.

"If they attack Adamon you attack back. We have shown kindness far too much. I give you the permission to go all out." The Queen informed them and it made him think about Amdusias. How much he would have loved it to go all out too. They all nodded their heads and left the room.

"You seemed to be concerned." Arculus said while crossing his arms.

"Those are men that have to return to their children. I do not want to sacrifice any of them." The Queen stood up from her throne and walked towards her son.

Arculus started slowly to look at the situation differently. The angels were the problem, taking the throne of it's rightful owner. Trying to start a war where the demons didn't really want to be part of. Somewhere deep down he knew what he had to do. After seeing how they greeted them and kneeled down for him. It made him realised how he truly was a prince, the next in line. He didn't want to fail anyone, he didn't want to be seen as someone that gave up on his own kind. However he really did not want to take lives. That is going against everything he stands for. The spirits didn't raise him like this. Brasa didn't raise him to be like this.

In fact she always thought him to be respectful, the spirit did not tolerate any disrespect. He did not hurt anyone unless it was necessary. Arculus was raised as a spirit by other spirits. He saw the way they lived and lived just like them. He would help them take care of the animals. He would look after the forest, make sure no one was harming sacred grounds in any way. However he wasn't a spirit. As much as he wanted to be, he was a demon. Prince of the underworld and his people needed him.

"I'm still a stranger and I know, but we have all been waiting for your return son. We all have been waiting for this day. For you to claim what is rightfully yours. No more hiding from now on, no more lies from now on." The Queen spoke up took his hands in hers leading him somewhere.

Arculus walked out of the same door he came in. Yet nothing was the same, it looked like they changed floors in just a matter of seconds. However arculus did not remember himself teleporting somewhere else.

"Those are my demons powers." She said out of nowhere, while having an amused expression on her face.

They stood in front of a window, it looked like a window but Arculus knew it wasn't a window since it started changing sizes. He had been confused but than he realised it was a balcony. The Queen opened the doors and he was met with millions of people right in front of him. Creatures in all kinds of colours and sizes. He even saw little kids with horns on their heads staring at him with surprise. Arculus spotted the two demons with their hands crossed smiling as if they had been waiting for this moment themselves. He reminded himself to talk to the two demons about the fact that they did not tell him the truth.

One of the demons that wore an sliver amor raised a instrument in the air and it silenced everyone. The Queen smiled and intertwined her hands with his. "Your Prince has returned, your prince is finally home." Everyone started cheering and clapping their hands. However this place did not feel like him, at least it didn't feel like it yet.

The same day he found himself sitting in the living room. Watching the way demons entered the palace and left. The maids running around doing their work. Small creatures staring at him with admiration. To Arculus they looked like kids, until one of them opened their mouths. He found out soon enough that those creatures he was labelling as 'kids', are actually the one that punish humans that ended up in the underworld.

Just as he thought everyone left him alone, the two demons entered the room. Sitting down on one of the couches like they owned the place. Orobas looked at him already knowing what was wrong, and Amdusias seemed to be more amused than actually scared.

"Both of you lied." Arculus said annoyed but Amdusias raised his hands.

"It was Orobas job to tell you the truth, so technically I have nothing to do with this." Amdusias defended himself and Orobas slapped him with a pillow.

"Do that again Orobas and I'll be holding your head In a minute." Amdusias spoke up with irritation.

"Grumpy teddybear is back?" Arculus asked Orobas amused, already knowing this will annoy him even more.

"He is indeed." Orobas answerd while putting the pillow back down.

"I never left so what do you even mean?" Amdusias complained while crossing his arms.

Orobas ignored Amdusias comment. "I never told you everything because I have no idea how you would react. I'm still trying to live you know." The man with golden eyes and curly hair spoke up.

"I wouldn't have killed you if that is what you were so concerned about." Arculus answered back and realised how stupid Orobas was actually being.

"Also I have decided I'll be...participating in the war." Arculus informed everyone in the room and the demons were confused.

"Didn't He say 'I will not participate and that is finally' like a day ago?" Amdusias asked Orobas as if he was confused.

"I'm sure he said something like 'I said no yesterday and I will say no tomorrow too' right?" Orobas asked as if he was actually thinking.

"No I'm pretty sure he said both." Amdusias said completely ignoring Arculus.

"Can you two shut up please for once." Arculus complained but couldn't help the smile appearing on his face.

He wasn't feeling so angry as earlier. In fact he he realised how lucky he had been to have his friends with him. The two demons that were always annoying him as if it was their second job, but he liked it this way. In all honesty he wouldn't change anything about them. He was happy to know that he had amazing people all around him. Perhaps being a demon wasn't so bad as he thought.
