《BLOODTHIRSTY》33. Lies and half truths

Since that day arculus and the two other demons had been in the castle. The vampires didn't like them very much that was understandable. The kids became less and less scared of them however the twins were not the forgiving type. Arculus has seen a lot of vampires, in fact he was one. Yet he had never seen vampires who's eyes changed blue or even brown. Most of the times it was just a red colour. He also had been in this castle long enough to noticed that each and single one of them posses other powers than just super speed.

The twins could read someones intentions by just looking at them, and their strength was insane for just 15 year olds. The small girl Atalia could read minds just like him, and her voice was one of the most beautiful things he had heard other than Winters laughter. The other little girl Lente seemed to be able to bring things towards her with her mind alone. The little boy Raul never had a liking to the darkness, however it seemed like he just saw things that no one other than him did.

If that is the case than he probably have seen the demons that were hiding in the castle. It was only natural for the boy to be terrified than. The little boy had been sitting on Lazarus lap. Since the invasion day, the little boy did not want to leave Lazarus or Winters side. He would not even dare come close to him and only watch him from a distance. This confused Arculus, what was the child able to see that even he could not catch with his eyes?

"Azeric has been looking for Arculus it has been years now. However your father manipulated your aura. If I'm not mistaken everyone has been papering for war, I'm confused to how you demons don't no much about it." Lazarus spoke up while looking at the demons with raised eyebrows.

"Who is Azeric?" Winter asked while sitting down on one of the couches in Lazarus office.

"His the god of heaven beloved." Lazarus informed Winter.

"We have been on earth for months now. I do not know what is happing in the underworld." Orobas answerd in all honesty.

Arculus was quiet and did not say much. He really did not want to be part of this. He didn't feel like saving or fighting for something that did not care about him either way. As much as he did not want to judge anyone, yet it did not make sense to him. Arculus was expected to fight in a war that is supposed to be about him. He was seen as a threat even by his own people, so what were the demons even fighting for. Because Arculus was convinced it was not about him at all.

"Can someone remind me why I'm supposed to do this?" Arculus asked out loud and everyone was silent.

"What do you mean? This concerns you." Amdusias answered in everyones place.

"I was sent away because I was seen as a threat by everyone. Shouldn't the demons and the angels be in the same boat? I mean don't they all want to kill me?" Arculus asked annoyed all of a sudden.

"The God of heaven doesn't want you dead, the council does. Azeric wanted to find you and place you under his care. If he could keep a close eye to you than the council shouldn't have anything to be afraid off. However the Queen was the one that refused." Orobas shared with everyone, a secret that was not supposed to be revealed. However everything was already out, an other piece of information would not hurt anyone.

"Why did she refuse?" Arculus asked Orobas.

"Because she didn't not want her son to be locked up like an animal." Orobas shared again however this time Arculus stood up from his seat.

"I'll be outside if you need me." Was all that left his lips.

Winter wanted to go after him however she understood that he needed time. He just found out that his mother that ruled over the underworld and his father that was supposed to be an angel had left him on earth. A war is breaking out and he is supposed to help, everyone was expecting his help. However no one seemed to be worried about him until now, they never wanted him to find out the truth. However now that everyone needs him they felt like revealing the truth would be a wise decision. Winter knew that this all wasn't easy to take. So she just watched the way he left the room.

Arculus was outside in the garden. It was raining heavily however no single rain drop was actually touching his skin. He looked up at the sky and could feel his anger building up inside of him. Arculus had always wanted to assume the best of his parents. He did not want to have a bad image about them because this would only make it harder on his part. However he felt angry at the fact that they erased his memories. Angry at the fact that they would rather have him be troubled and unsure about his origins about himself, than let him know where he came from. After that piece of information he had went back to the forest. To find the truth and force the spirits to finally talk. Arculus wasn't always sure about his emotions, but he was sure of the fact that he had never been this angry and disappointed.

He could hear someone approaching him. The little girl that had a voice that reminded him of happiness was standing right next to him. "Hello there." Arculus said while smiling at the child.

"You are angry." Was the only thing that the kid could bring out.

"Yes Atalia I am angry." Was all he said while looking back at the grey sky.

"Rogan always tell me that it's okay to be angry. However staying angry is going to drain you." The little girl said while looking at the man that was actually terrifing.

Arculus looked down in surprise. "Aren't you 8 or something?"

"I'm actually 11." She said while giggling.

"You should go back inside, it's getting late." He told the kid without removing his eyes from the sky. Feeling as if someone else was actually watching him.

"Do you want to play hide and seek?" The child asked curious.

Arculus smiled down at her and nodded. He followed Atalia back inside. All the kids went into hiding. While he stayed on the same spot counting. Looking for kids in a big house was harder than he expected. Yet hide and seek was going smoothly until Lente accused Atalia of cheating. Which made an argument break out.

"Rogan she is cheating!" Lente said annoyed while holding her teddybear.

"No I was not. Did you see me cheat Arculus?" Atalia asked him and he held his hands up.

"Keep me out of this kids." Arculus said with an amused expression.

As much as he wanted to enjoy his time with the kids, he knew he had to face his issues. Even when he really did not want to. The meeting was already over and he knew that. Amdusias and Orobas had been discussing things that perhaps he should have heard. However arculus did not want to know or even find out.

Arculus left the kids behind and went on looking for Winter. It had been a while since he had spoken to her without anyone around. Looking for her wasn't hard, her smell was invading his nose and he knew where to look. He knocked on her door a couple of times and waited for her to answer. Winter finally opened her door and smiled up to him. He took her in his arms like he had done countless of times, and kissed her on her forehead.

As he held her in his arms he listened to her heartbeat and how it skipped a beat. Arculus smiled to himself. "Am I making you nervous snowflake?" He asked her with raised eyebrows.

Winter laughed and rolled her eyes. "No forest boy you are not."

Arculus looked around in her room. Everything seemed in its place, however on her desk he noticed a pile of newspapers and documents. He raised his eyebrows at the sight. Arculus slowly approached the desk, however he was held back by Winter.

"What's that on your desk?" Arculus asked curious.

Winter shook her head. "Nothing." He did not believe her and just teleported towards the desk. He picked up the pile of documents and newspapers. Reading the titles written in bold letters. Parents killed unexpectedly, son left to be an orphan, killed by something hidden in the dark. All the tittles had made him feel a type of way. Because he did not expect winter to have random newspapers laying around that involved murder.

"Why do you have this on your desk?" He asked confused to why she had this laying around.

"Euh...it's kind of a long story." She found herself saying instead explain the situation.

"Well I got time." Was all he brought out and looked at winter waiting for her to say something.

"It's about my father, the parents that got killed where my grandparents." She told him the truth but he still did not understand why she had more than 5 newspapers revolving the murder. It looked more like her investigating than her just being curious.

Arculus leaned against the desk and watched her. Observed her like he had always done in the past. She looked tired, as if she did not sleep for days. The bangs under her eyes gave it away.

"Snowflake." He called out to her with his arms crossed. "You know I don't like lies or half truths." He said as he watched her.

Winter nodded, letting him know that she knew. She knew that he didn't like lies. However she didn't know how he would take this. "Lazarus told me that my father was killed by vampires that lived here in this castle. He and my dad used to be good friends. Lazarus told me about how my dad was looking for the one that killed his parents. The beings that killed his parents." Winter said suddenly angry, angry at the fact that her father had to be so troubled till his last breath.

"I just want to find who killed my grandparents so my father can finally rest in piece." She told him truthfully and Arculus nodded his head in understanding. However he did not like the idea.

"This is not a good idea Winter. You don't now who and with what you are dealing with. I'm not okay with you putting yourself in danger." He told her as he looked through the documents.

"He got killed while he was looking for his parents. I just want to bring them justice Arculus." Winter told him yet Arculus still dit not feel okay with this.

"Lazarus said you were already in danger. Those beings are already looking for you and your family. Don't you think it would be better to not draw attention?" He asked her and winter was silent.

"But they deserve justice." Winter defended herself.

"I know snowflake, and I promise I'll give you whatever your heart desire. However right now it's not the time. I promise I'll help after all of this mess is over." Arculus promised her and Winter nodded her head. Trusting him with her entire heart.

He pulled her closer to her, and examined her face. Looked at each and every detail. Placing his fingers on her cheeks and slowly making his way down her lips. Tracing it as if it was fragile and could break under his touch. She reminded him of diamonds. Winter reminded him of galaxies and the way it always amazed him how beautiful it was. He had seen her countless of times and yet she still amazed him. It didn't matter to him if she was human or not. He could careless about that in fact. The only thing that truly mattered to him was to see a smile on her face. And hear her laughter that was the closest he would get to heaven.

"What are you doing forestboy?" Winter asked while masking her amusement.

"Admiring." Was all that left his lips before he placed his lips on her. Their mouth moved slowly against each other. Winter pulled away when she heard her door open. Arculus turned around annoyed to see who it was.

Lazarus stood there with a frown on his face, irritation evident but more directed to Arculus. "No baby making under my roof."

Winter could feel her cheeks heat up and Arculus laughed while he was actually shocked. "Well I wasn't...I didn't plan on...euh." Arculus glanced at Winter and just nodded his head. "Whatever understood." He looked at Lazarus and he nodded.

"I just came to say that I called your mom and she will be moving in here in a week from now." Lazarus said simply however winter raised her eyebrows.

"Wait you explained the situation?" She asked utterly confused.

"Yes beloved, why?" He asked her just as confused as her.

"Why did she take it so easily? She already knew we were being chased after?"

Lazarus has forgotten that he did not go into detail about his relationship between her parents. "Yes your mother knew already." Was all he said and did not wait for any more questions.

Arculus knew this was bothering her deeply. Winter looked up at him and seemed upset. "How much of our lives has been a lie?" She asked him and he could see how she suddenly became sad. It seemed like he was not the only one that hated lies or half truths.

He pulled her in his arms again, and rested his head on the top of hers. "I don't know Winter, I don't know."
