《BLOODTHIRSTY》29. Backstory

Rain was purring out of the sky. Leaving everything wet and making the sky look grey. The weather never affected Arculus at all. He knew humans felt depressed or sad when there was bad weather. However Arculus wasn't human, yet watching the rain falling out of the sky made him feel sad. It made him upset and it made him feel empty in some way. Arculus didn't want to say it out loud, because he knew saying it out loud would make everything more real. That wasn't what he wanted, he wanted everything to be a big joke. Perhaps a bad prank Orobas pulled on him. Yet that wasn't the case, everything was indeed real.

He hasn't been sleeping the last days. Not that he ever slept before all of this mess started, but at least he would be laying on the bed with his eyes closed and not be overthinking about everything. Arculus looked at himself In the mirror. The scar he hated so much on full display for him to see. The scar he hated so much. To be able to leave a scar this big on his body it must have been something non human that had done it. Yet he couldn't remember, no matter how badly he wanted to remember. Arculus had no idea where or how it ended up on his body.

Amdusias had been sleeping on the couch for a couple of days already. He didn't have to open his eyes to know that he was being stared at. A sigh left his lips as he opens his eyes. Locking eyes with Arculus.

"What do you want?" Amdusias asked annoyed.

Arculus was about to open his mouth until Orobas appeared out of no where. He was wearing a headband with a weird symbol on it. Arculus and Amdusias frowned at the sight. Completely confused to why he was wearing a headband.

"I watched this show about a yellow haired ninja." Orobas informed everyone in the room and Amdusias raised his eyebrows.

"You mean Naruto?" Amdusias asked annoyed.

"Yeah I think it was something like that." Orobas said while sitting down on Amdusias.

"There is place over there why do you have to sit besides me? And naruto isn't a damn show Orobias. Damn it." Amdusias complained while raising his voice.

"Can you two too stop arguing, anway what I wanted to ask you Amdusias is to stab me." Arculus asked so casually that Orobas stared at Arculus to find out if he possibly has hurt his head.

"You are kidding right?" Amdusias asked him confused but amused at the same time.

"Wait how come you are asking Amdusias and not me? Why can't I stab you?" Orobas asked upset but got hit on the head by Amdusias.

"That is seriously what you complain about?" Amdusias glared at Orobas.

"What else am I supposed to complain about?" Orobas asked him while smiling.

Arculus stared at the pair and shook his his head. "I don't care who does it, if you want you can even take turns Just stab me."

The demons stared at the young man still confused. What he was asking them to do was out of character. A man that didn't like violence too much and didn't like being part of it. Why would he ask them such a thing. However Amdusias shrugged and put his bag he always walked around with on the table. He opened it slowly finally revealing them all what was hidden inside of it. Orobas knew Amdusias was a sadist, however he didn't expect Amdusias to be walking around with knifes, blades sharper than anything he has ever seen in his life.

"Which one would you like to start with?" Amdusias asked him with raised eyebrows and Orobas was still speechless.

"You mean to tell me that you walk around with that shit all the time?" Orobas asked him in disbelief.

"Yeah I'm here to punish remember? Anway I'll help you but explain why we are doing this first. Is this some kind of weird kink? Because if it is ask winter to do it." Amdusias stared at Arculus waiting for a reply. However he was quiet, the man was completely silent.

Why was he doing this? Why did he want to hurt himself on purpose? He was doing all of this as an experiment. He wanted to see how deep someone had to stab him to leave a wound. Arculus was aware that whatever object was used on him was not the work of a human object. Whatever that had struck him was the work of a supernatural being. So he wanted to find out the truth. He was tired of being in the dark about everything. He wanted to find out the truth about himself. However deep down Arculus was doubting himself. Was he even able to handle the truth?

"I'm just experimenting, seeing how much I can actually take. So don't go easy." Arculus informed them and a grin appeared on Amdusias face.

"I wasn't planning to, but are you sure about this?" Amdusias asked him and he nodded his head.

"Okay alright than." Amdusias said In a deadly tone.

Slowly taking his favourite object out of his bag. It was trident painted in a purple colour with stones engraved in them. Amdusias took the trident and smiled to himself as he slammed the object Into Arculus chest. Arculus had his mouth shut, he was in pain for a split second. It only hurt when the object made contact with his skin, he wasn't able to feel anything more than that.

"I can't feel it."

"Fuck why can't I feel it?" Arculus asked annoyed rather pissed of, he wanted to be strong.

Arculus always wanted to be strong. Be able to take everything and be able to handle everything by himself. There was no need for someone to save him if he had full control of the situation. Arculus wanted to know his own weaknesses, he wanted to find out if he even had any. However his body wasn't feeling anything. He wasn't feeling any pain. Which made him angry because humans feel pain. Winter was able to feel pain, he knew they weren't the same. Not when it comes to skill or power. Not when it comes to strength because Arculus was stronger than her. This was his first motive, to protect Winter. However he felt so disconnected if he wasn't even able to feel a human emotion, how could he possibly understand Winter. How would he knew how to comfort her? How would he know what type of words that needs to be said in order to calm her troubled mind.

This wasn't supposed to upset him so much. This wasn't supposed to have such a big impact on him but he just wanted to know if he was able to feel pain, physical pain. However he knew inner wounds could hurt just as much. The red blood that was surrounding Arculus was slowly tuning into a black colour.

"Your body is protecting you Arculus." Orobas observed.

Amdusias ignored orobas and took and other tool out of his bag. This blade was a green color covered in little diamonds. He used the blade to cut him in half like he had done before with all his victims, however the blade didn't even leave a scratch like it was supposed to. Arculus grew more annoyed and confused. If non of this objects worked on him, than what caused the scar on his chest?

"You want to found out how you got that scar?" Amdusias asked Arculus curious. Arculus nodded his head and Amdusias breathed out calmly. Putting all his objects back in the bag.

"You would have to go to the very pits of hell if you want to found out." Amdusias said truthfully.

"Hell?" Arculus asked confused, weren't those objects all the same? Didn't Amdusias objects already come from hell.

"My objects are made to harm humans and other beings, not to harm my own. If you really want to see how much you body can take perhaps you should go to the underworld." Amdusias suggested and Amdusias choked on his donut.

"It's too soon for him to return home." Orobas said to Amdusias angry that he even suggested such a thing.

"You are worried for nothing Orobias. He will be fine." Amdusias said while laying back in the couch.

"Where actually is the underworld?" Arculus asked out loud and Amdusias laughed.

"For some weird reason humans have told stories about it being down under ground." Amdusias wasn't his grumpy self anymore, but stuck his hand out. Above his hand this graphic image appeared. Arculus remember Orobas showing him the same building once. It was completely dark and looked like a normal city like here on earth. There where only being walking around that Arculus had never seen before.

Some had hoorns and others looked actually like humans. Arculus didn't understand that part. Wasn't he'll supposed to be the place where to punish people?

"The underworld isn't here on earth. However Demons can enter the place without needing permission. Humans can't enter the place unless they are death and have done something bad." Amdusias informed Arculus.

"The underworld punish humans that have done something bad? Don't we all do something bad?" Arculus asked him with raised eyebrows. Amdusias opened his eyes and glanced at Orobas.

"You haven't told him about the gods?" Amdusias asked Orobas, however he was quiet. "You literally had one job." Amdusias said annoyed.

"Long ago a being named Eref had cried tears because she gave birth to a stillborn. Later on those tears created the oceans here on earth. It is said that the heavens could not bare to see her cry that they gave her more than just one gift. They gifted her the ability to bring things into existence. Everything was created by her. She was so heartbroken that she created everything for her child that would never be able to see anything she had bring to life. As she grew old the ocean needed someone too look after it. The trees and the flowers needed someone to protect them. The gate to heaven would be left open, and the gate to hell would be left unguarded." Arculus listen to the story that Amdusias was telling him. It was quiet diffrent from human tales.

"You see Eref was the balance of everything. She kept everything in place and always looked after everything. The heavens had tried to keep her mind of the child she had lost, however as she was growing old she was starting to lose parts of herself. Those parts are what we call stars today. She noticed she was losing herself so she created beings. Strong enough to guard all the flowers and trees, known as spirits. She also created other beings to restore the balance. Those beings were so powerful that later on they were seen as gods. Worshipped by humans, and even spirits themselves. However since those beings came from the same source they are borthers and sister, yet they never got along." Everyone was quiet, and let Amdusias carry on.

"You have three gods, Amelus god of the ocean. Azeric God of heaven and Kezrah goddess of the underworld. The brothers despise each other because they don't share the same beliefs. However even if that was the case, they always had a soft spot for their sister. However even when Azeric is ruler of heaven, he isn't the only one making decisions. There is a group of ancient creatures that are part of a council. They are the most stuck up creatures, I seriously can not stand them." Amdusias added suddenly irritated.

"You can't stand anyone." Arculus retorted back.

"You hate them more than vampires?" Orobas asked curious.

"No but they come second on that list." Amdusias said irritated while glancing at Arculus.

List? Let me guess, you made a whole list of things or people you hate?" Arculus guessed and Amdusias nodded his head.

"Just to remind me why I actually hate something or someone. Either way the underworld isn't just to punish people and heaven isn't just where the good ones go." Amdusias informed Arculus and he was in deep thought.

"How do you end up there. Let's say I killed someone what is next? I go to hell right?" Arculus asked them.

"Well since you are demon it doesn't matter because that is where you belong either way. However you have to look at other things. I have heard that here on earth they think you will end up in hell because of murder but if it was an accident and you had no chose than you end up in heaven." Amdusias tried to explain but Orobas butted in.

"How you going to kill someone by accident? Oops I slit someone's throat, how does that work?" Orobas commented.

"If I was human and i killed you by self defence I won't end up in hell. And either way humans don't stay in the underworld either way." Amdusias said outloud.

Arculus glanced at the demons in the room. Confused because on earth there were different tails, going around everywhere. It didn't matter what you have done, what kind you committed. You end up in hell unless you asked for forgiveness.

"But if you are forgiven than you end up In heaven?" Arculus asked again.

"No because to who are you asking forgiveness to? The person you killed isn't here anymore right? How is Azeric supposed to forgive the one that hurt someone if he isn't the one hurting?" Amdusias asked outloud. It made sense, Arculus never seen things in this perspective.

"The Queen of the underworld passes judgement. She is the only one that can judge the crime someone has committed and see how much time it is worth." Orobas explained further.

If he ever wanted to bring Winter the underworld, it wouldn't be possible since she was human. However that meant he would have to stay on earth even when he wanted to find out more about the place he came from. His world wasn't the same as hers, he was aware and in some situations he wished it wasn't. Even if she could entire hell and live there with him. He won't force her to leave her family behind.

"Your thinking about her aren't you?" Arculus could hear Orobas ask in the background.

"When am I not?" He asked him while standing up from his seat.

He sat in his room while he was surrounded by darkness. Looking at his hands and remembering the way it felt to touch her. Her laughter that reminded him of heaven, the closest he will ever get to paradise. Even when Arculus misses her, he deep down knew she would be fine. However he hoped he will not find a single scratch on her, because he knew it would be bad. If he ever had to see her cry again.
