Everything just happened too fast. Winters eyes couldn't keep up. She needed a few moments to realise that Chris tried to punch Arculus. Winter wasn't worried about Arculus being hurt, she was more worried about Arculus hurting him. She had never seen Arculus angry this was her first time.

His face was stone could and clenched his jaw. Watching the blond guy in front of him, trying his best not to break him in half. He almost lost control, he almost did what he wanted to do. Until she tried to push him backwards and put some distance between them.

"Arculus." Winter tried to call out to him in the hope he would calm down.

His eyes snapped back at her and she saw how hard he was struggling to keep his eyes from switching back to its original colour. "Don't be mad at him please his just..Chris is just having a hard time. He haven't been himself lately." She tried to find an excuse to make him feel better, or to make herself feel better.

Arculus brown eyes that always got mistaken for black observed the girl. Watching her intensely which made Winter uncomfortable, resorting to her breaking eye contact and not wanting to look him in the eyes. They both totally forgot that there was people watching and the fact they weren't the only one in here. They both forgot that they weren't the only one in the room.

Arculus had wanted to touch her like he had done the first night they met. He wanted to pull her closer to him and touch her face, he had wanted her to be close to him and only him. Because the others weren't to be trusted. He always had the ability to look through people and find their true motive. It took him awhile to trust others especially when it comes to humans. Humans were impressive. The length they will go just to uptain what they want. Even if they sacrificed a lot of people as long as they were okay everything was okay. Arculus didn't want to admit it but somewhere he despised those humans. Not everyone was like that and he was aware but the ones that were, those were the ones he couldn't stand. For some reason Chris reminded him from them.

Arculus glanced at Winter. "I have to go now."

"Wait but you just got here." Winter wanted to complain and take a closer steps towards him. However he found himself taking steps back too, away from her.

"If you need me you know where and how to find me." He told her simply before walking away still furious.

Winter wasn't sure what to do next, but staying in one spot while watching Arculus walk away made her feel upset. She didn't want him to leave just yet. Chris had his eyes focused on her, watching winter with raised eyebrows. Wondering if she really was planning on going after that guy. Her eyes watched the way he was making his way out of the house. Leaving her here with her group of friends.

This feeling as if something wasn't right made her body shiver. Most of the time Winter knew what she was doing, but when she found her legs moving on it's on trying to reach the guy with dark eyes and pitch black hair she found herself being confused. When she found herself outside of the house trying to scream his name in the hope he would stop walking away she found her heart breaking. Winter wasn't sure why she was doing this or why she was trying so hard. She just remembers the way everyone walked out of her life and never came back. The same way her father had left to go to the store and 16 years later still hasn't found his way back home.

Arculus stoped in his tracks. "I don't like being compered to a human." He turned around to watch the girl. "You know the only reason I actually walked out of that place and didn't just teleport, was because I didn't want anyone to wonder with what kind of people you surrounded yourself with. I was being careful not to mess up your reputation because I know you humans can be very sensitive." Arculus had his hands buried in his jeans pockets while still having his eyes on the girl.

"I-I wasn't compering you to my father I don't even know why I was thinking about him, but everyone always walk away. They always judge me and I always disappoint everyone. I just hoped I wouldn't disappoint you too." Her soft voice reminded him why he was doing this in the first place. She was so fragile and vulnerable. She was something so small in a big evil world.

Arculus new that the spirits were right. He didn't want to put her in danger. Even when he promised himself he was going to protect her. He still wasn't so sure what he was protecting her from. He wasn't sure what kind of danger was awaiting them. He had no idea If he was even going to be able to protect her like he had wanted to. Arculus found himself walking back towards her. Still watching her like he had done countless of times. Looking her into her eyes in the hope he would be able to see something else apart from fear and regret. He knew she feared a lot of things but now that he had a better look at her. The fear ran so deep even his eyes couldn't completely catch what she was so afraid of.

"You're not supposed to get attached to me Winter. I'm dangerous if something goes wrong you will be in danger." He told trying to make her understand, trying to break things off like he had to do since the beginning. Being involved with a human was never a good idea.

"Don't you think a lot already went wrong?" She asked him curious.

Arculus laughed and placed his hand on her cheeks. "Your definition of 'a lot' isn't the same as mine Winter." He told her and felt this warmth overwhelm him. When Winter removed a piece of hair to have a better view on his face, he felt this warm fuzzy feeling overwhelm him. Not knowing what suddenly got over him he just smiled down at her.

"Just try and keep yourself from getting in trouble okay?" He turned around ready to walk away but she stopped him once again.

Winter wasn't sure if she should just be quiet or not, yet she still found herself opening her mouth. "Is that a goodbye?"

The need to tell her what she was supposed to know was nearly impossible. The words got stuck in his throat while he stared at her brown eyes that somehow made him feel just as fragile and vulnerable as her.

"More of a I need to take care of some business and I'll meet you when everything is sorted out." He tried to say his goodbye but he was still not able to leave her alone.

Winter looked up to him and smiled removing her hand from his face. "Is that a promise Arculus?"

Arculus placed some distant between them, while he saw Winters friends staring at them. "I'm a man of my word." Why he kissed her on her forehead before walking away was a mystery to him as well, but he found himself missing her soft skin and her brown eyes already.

Walking back to her friends seemed so surreal to her. They seemed to be inches away from her but in some way they seemed to be miles away. Not close enough for her to reach and not close for them to catch her. Chris was disappointed, it was written all over his face. The way the rest of the group turned around to leave them both to talk. However she didn't have anything to tell him, she didn't want to say anything at the moment. Revick looked behind him and didn't walk away. Leaving them alone for some reason didn't sound okay to him at all.

"Revick let's go inside." Brian tried to move Rev away from the two.

Rev raised his eyebrows without removing his eyes from Winter. "I don't take orders from you big guy." He told Brian this time annoyed. He tried to find out if it was truly okay for him to walk away like that. After all he did promise her he would be there if she needed help. Winters eyes landed on Rev and saw his worried expression. She smiled at him and nodded her head to tell him it was okay. That she was in fact okay.

When Chris saw everyone walking away he turned back to Winter. Fixating his eyes on the girl with wild curls and a heart made of gold. He was sure the first time they have met, he was convinced he had seen an angel. He truly believed that she was some kind of lie he didn't want to believe in. Yet he still found himself believing in a girl who wasn't even able to separate facts from truths. She wasn't even able to do anything for herself. Winter always needed a small push regarding anything. She never took the first steps. No it was always him, it had always been him.

Chris walked towards the girl and raised his eyebrows. "I don't like it when you do things on your own." He told her while crossing his arms.

Her body froze in the spot, remembering everything that had happened in the past. All the stories she wanted to forget and claim them has fiction. The words that got stuck in her throat never made its way out. She wanted to spill everything out, she wanted to let him know how she felt but she wasn't able to.

He uncrossed his arms and placed his hand on her waist. Pulling her face extremely close to his. "I didn't spend my days looking for you, just so you can put yourself in danger again." He spoke up in an almost deadly voice scaring the girl.

"Arculus isn't dangerous Chris. You were the one that lost control and tried to punch him in the face." Winter finally let her voice be heard. She finally spilled everything out.

However that wasn't what he wanted to hear. Not what he wanted her to say. He expected her to apologise to him, to even be begging. She never questioned him. If Chris remember clearly since the accident he always had her wrapped around his finger. Why was this time different?

A chuckle escaped his lips while he looked around. "Don't let that guy get into your head Winter. You need me, you always do. Don't come running to me when you mess up. Got that?"

He didn't wait for any answer and just walked away from her. This should have been enough to make the girl scared, if he recalled correctly she hated being all alone. And Chris was right she found herself being all alone. All alone in the darkness again. Winter wondered if she had to go back inside and ask someone to bring her home. Or maybe she should apologise to Chris for the way she was acting. Perhaps he was right.

"Wait Chris." Winter found herself tugging on his shirt. Keeping him from walking away from her.

He turned around and stared at her hand on his shirt. "What's wrong Winter?" He asked her with raised eyebrows.

"I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to question you." Winter looked him in the eyes and he found himself smiling satisfied. He had her right back where he wanted her to be.
