《BLOODTHIRSTY》08. The Angry spirits
Advertisement
After everything that went down he knew they were waiting for him. Using his feet to step inside the only place he knew as home wasn't terrifying. Even when he knew what awaits him. Arculus wasn't in the forest yet but he could already hear them. Loud voices surrounding him, steady voices and unwavering asking what in the world he was doing. Running away had never been something he liked doing. Turning his back on his own issues wasn't something he liked doing, especially when he was the one who conflicted it. Arculus was the only one to blame so he stood his ground when he felt there mighty presence all around him.
The spirits lost their bright green colours. When they were angry they turned in creatures far worse. There legs and arms where covered in silver stones. Eyes were a dark green colour and as always they were flying around him. Until one of them stopped right in front of him and grew in size. Arculus had forgotten that they could also take on human forms if they wanted too.
"What do you think you're doing?" It's eyes changed colours and he could see small flames escaping its hands.
"Nothing." He kept his answer short to make sure they wouldn't get more furious than they already were, but that had no use. The spirits were going to be furious regardless.
"I'm watching you, we are all watching you. We see everything that goes on Arculus. If I were you I wouldn't lie." Its voice could be compared to a hurricane. It could destroy you in mere seconds, but Arculus wasn't someone you could easily destroy.
"I was just helping." The words flew out of his mouth. He regretted saying them when he saw the flames grow bigger in size. After all they were forest spirits and they basically controlled nature.
"Since when have you cared about humans?" It spoke up again and made the ground tremble.
"Since when do you care about what happens to them?" The trees started to swing harder and the branches were breaking off.
"Brasa calm down." An other spirit spoke up while transforming too.
It grew quiet again and he felt watched. Their eyes were glued on him. All of them were judging him in many ways and he exactly knew why. They weren't wrong for being angry because he understood. He understood that he wasn't supposed to butt in someone else business. Especially when they were humans. However Arculus couldn't bring himself to stop. Every time he was around her it made him grave her presence more, and he didn't know why.
"You're supposed to be hidden. To stay out of trouble. What do you think your doing. You're putting yourself in danger Arculus I hope you know that." The spirit that transformed spoke up but it stayed calm unlike the other one.
"What are you all fearing?" Arculus asked them with raised eyebrows.
"For your own safety stop that nonsense." The spirt called Brasa spoke up after regaining control over its emotions.
"What if I don't?" He wondered out loud since he was genuinely curious.
"Whatever danger follows after it, you will be handling it yourself. We will not be helping you in any way."
"Brasa you're forgetting the contract-"
"I have made up my mind. " Brasa took a last look at the little boy that grew up rather quickly, before going back to its original form.
He sat there quiet and looked around the forest. All the spirits spread out all over the forest. He spotted a bunny and made his way over there. Picked the bunny up and sat back down on the tree branch. He than proceeds to pat the bunny and hold it in his arms. Not letting it escape because he was pretty high up in the tree. If he let go of the bunny it wouldn't survive the fall. He sighed, even when the spirits left him alone to think about his mistakes. He knew that they weren't okay with each other's opinions.

Arculus didn't want to hurt the bunny in his arms but his stomach reminded him of how he was starving. He tried not to think about it and make sure to not let the bunny fall from this high. One of the spirit came back and sat down besides him. Over time he learned that the spirits can keep their human like form for a short amount of time. All the spirits he had seen in this forest were green, but when they transformed they came in all colours. Most of the time it had something to do with their abilities. He knew that the spirit right next to him could controle water because of its light blue color.
When the spirit spoke up he thought about waterfalls. The sound of rain and the ocean. It sounded so peaceful, nothing like Brasa who couldn't keep its emotions in check.
"How long do you plan on fighting that side of yours?" It asked him and he wanted to ignore the question but he knew it wouldn't leave him alone.
"I don't want to hurt anyone." His voiced out completely calm.
"Is that why you're also starving yourself?" It asked and he watched the bunny look up to him.
Arculus nodded his head but tried not to think about it too much.
"You're forgetting something." The spirit finally opened its eyes and stared at the kid it had raised. "It doesn't like to be ignored. The more you push it back the angry it gets."
He felt a sharp pain in his chest and fall out of the tree. Arculus made sure to burry the bunny in his chest as he fall, making sure it was safe. He tried to land on his feet but he couldn't feel his legs anymore. He tried breathing in and out but his lungs didn't want to fill itself with oxygen. His vision became blurry and the voices only seemed to get louder. He had starved himself in the past and never had he felt this way before. This pain was unbearable.
"Your organs are shutting down." The spirit kneeled down and stared at him.
"You can't breath and your body parts aren't functioning properly." The spirit placed its hands on his forehead.
"Tell me something." Arculus tried to keep his eyes open and keep his eyes on the spirit but he failed miserably. "Is this what you wanted?"
He was gasping for air and tried to keep his eyes open. "I just don't want to hurt anyone. Who am I to take life away?" He asked the spirit. The spirit smiled softly and took its hand away from his forehead. Placed its hand on his stomach and spoke in a different language. After some minutes he felt better and could move his body again. The pain in his chest disappeared and he looked up at the spirit.
"You don't want to take anyone's life away but have you thought about yours?" The spirit asked him. For the second time that day he sighed.
"I don't have much time left but please eat . Do you not want to see your human again?" The spirit went back to its original form and flew away.
He wanted to keep his emotions in check but he couldn't. The spirit was right and he was aware of that. Yet he didn't want to let that side of him out. He had to keep it in, he had to surpres those urges. Destructing and harming whatever lays in his path wasn't what he wanted to do. He could hear it complaining in the back of his head. Warning him about what would happen if he didn't let him out. Warning him about the punishment he will bring upon anyone that stood in his way.

While he pushed all his thoughts in the back of his mind he stood up. He didn't like going too deep into the forest, but he could see animals that weren't supposed to be here. At least not at this part of the forest. Since he had been dying some minutes ago, he wasn't sure if he wanted to bother telling them to turn away and get lost. Yet his legs still carried him. The animals he had seen from miles away ended up being wolfs. However the size of the wolfs trew him off. He was skeptical about this whole situation until one of them took closer steps towards him.
Seeing wolfs in this forest wasn't something that happened every day. There were 3 wolfs and they all were huge. Arculus was planning on turning away and let the spirits handle this but he couldn't bring himself to turn away after he saw that one of the wolf's was bleeding. The blood was plastered all over the ground and he knew that the spirits would be more angry than they already were. He tried to approach them but a growl escaped their mouths as a warning.
"I just want to help." He tried to convince them but they still were watching him uncertainly as if he was a threat.
He could have turned away but leaving a bleeding person to die wasn't easy. He tried again to approach them while he kept his hands in the air. Trying to win there trust over until the bleeding wolf suddenly turned human.
They must have been werewolf's than he wondered out loud. Arculus took his shirt off and kneeled down and inspected the wound. It seemed as if whatever had bit him was either really hungry or had a deep hatred towards him. He took his shirt and wrapped it around his wound to stop him from losing more blood.
"Maybe I can get them to heal you, but they have been angry lately. I don't know how to ask them." Arculus told the man while he whimpered in pain. Arculus couldn't stand the sight of it. He had to do something, even if it will back fire.
"Brasa?" Screaming its name won't help it come out of its hiding place. Angry spirits were so hard to deal with.
"I know you can hear me." He screamed again and the 2 other werewolf's looked confused.
Suddenly the small green spirit flew around Arculus and watched the man on the ground bleeding to death.
"I don't help werewolf, I thought you knew that." It told him while it wanted to fly away again.
"Brasa if we don't do anything he is going to die." He tried to tell the spirit but it clearly didn't care.
"Well if he was faster he could have avoided the other wolfs from attacking him." Brasa said out loud which made the two other wolfs angry.
"There are more?" Arculus asked surprised.
"Yes know stand up and go back Arculus." The spirit tried to tell him but he refused.
"We can't just let him die."
Arculus looked towards the spirit and could hear it grow more annoyed. Brasa removed the piece of clothing to inspect his wound. The spirit closed its eyes for a minute and placed its hand right above the wound. When the flames escape its palm and landed on his wounds. Arculus was wondering why it was trying to kill the wolf. The 2 other wolfs were ready to attack them but the spirit made sure they couldn't move.
"It's okay guys I'm fine." The bleeding man wasn't bleeding anymore and tried to calm his werewolf friends down.
Right when Arculus wanted to help the injured man stand up, a pack of wolfs caught his attention. They were the same size as the other werewolf's. Stepping into his view to make their presence known. He wondered if today was some sort of special day. It confused him because he was getting annoyed every second that passed by. Growls left there mouths and he frowned his eyebrows. Did they just growl at me?
Handling issues with violence wasn't his way of handling things. However by the looks of the pack of werewolf's and the way they tried to warn him with every growl that left their mouth, he felt like he had no choice. The spirits also wouldn't allow them to go in this side of the forest. Arculus didn't want to fight them. He didn't want too and didn't feel like doing it. Yet he kept in mind that he wouldn't be doing this for himself. The spirits already have a lot of things they should handle and make sure everything is going well. He didn't want to bother them with this issue.
He climbed into a tree and sat down on one of the branches. "What do you all want?" Arculus asked them and watched the moon above him.
A large black werewolf with light brown eyes was watching him, and he was aware of that. In a situation like this one he wasn't aloud to let his guard down. Brasa flew towards him and made sure to burn his hand.
"What was that for?" He asked the spirit with raised eyebrows.
"This is way we don't help werewolf's. Always starting unnecessary fights, acting like this forest belongs to them. I have had enough of those creatures." The ground started trembling again and the tree branch he was sitting on broke. He fall down but made sure to land on his feet.
"Can you please not kill them?" Arculus asked the spirit annoyed. "I'll handle them okay." He tried to convince the spirit but it only grew more angry. Brasa watched the werewolf's in disgust and finally flew away.
The black werewolf that was watching him earlier transformed into his human form. "We need a place to stay." Arculus wanted to pay attention to what he was saying but the fact that the guy was completely naked in front of him, made it kind off hard.
"This isn't the place where you can stay." He tried telling them calmly but they seemed not to understand.
"We don't have-"
"Listen I'm only doing what they want me to do. They don't want you to stay end of discussion." He didn't want to lose his cool. He had to stay calm.
"Than we don't have a choice." The guy transformed back to his werewolf from, and started running towards him while growling.
He had to stay calm, no matter what happened. If he lost control this could end badly. A chuckle left his mouth and made eye contact with them all. By holding eye contact he was able to paralyse them all and make sure he didn't harm them too much.
"W-What's happening?" The man that once was injured asked while panicking.
"Can you all leave this part of the forest please?" He asked again but none of them seemed to understand how much of a threat he was.
His eyes switched colours and he could feel the anger running through his veins. He could feel himself slip away. He kneeled down and tried to stop his eyes from bleeding. "This is such bullshit." The forest started to fill itself with his screams. The werewolf's were still here. He decided to teleport them all into a place that was far away from where they were now. It was still in the forest but at least they wouldn't be in the part of the forest where the spirits were.
Arculus teleported himself back to the place he called home. The bleeding stopped and the pain he was feeling was still present. He sat down and tried not to think about it. Yet his whole body was hurting. Not eating for months was starting to break his body down. Keeping himself from destroying everything in sigh was starting to become impossible. Yet he had to do it even if that meant destroying himself.
