《Little Love》41. Taken

I stared at the door, unmoving from my position on the sofa. Jade sprinted through, jolting to a stop in the doorway of the kitchen, both of our eyes on where the knock had come from.

My heart literally stopped beating for a second as I focused on the noise.

They thudded louder against the door, obviously using their fist rather than their knuckles. All thoughts of it being Greyson flew out of my head. Even if he had broken every speeding law in the country, he was always surprisingly gentle, despite his size. He would never use such force as he knew how intimidating he could be, especially when I was around.

So who was trying to get in?

My muscles were trembling as I started slowly pushing myself off of the sofa, adrenaline shooting through me to the point where I could hardly breath. My eyes flickered up to Jade, who's head snapped over to me, eyes wider than my own. Frantically, she waved her hand, motioning me to come over to the kitchen. We could shut the door and barricade it with chairs until Greyson got here, or maybe try and escape out of the window.

"Hello? Anyone in?" Another loud round of thudding on the door. His voice was low with a false sense of concern. An underlaying hiss of spite ran under it, one which sent shivers down my spine. The situation seemed to be getting worse and worse with every passing second.

"Hello? Greyson's car broke down and he sent me ahead. I need you guys to let me in before something happens, he'd be pissed if I didn't keep you guys safe," Both me and Jade shook our heads at each other, neither of us trusting him. Her hand jerked out again and waved me over and I tried to hurry whilst still keeping silent. My foot hit the ground, and carefully, I started pulling the blanket off.

"Shit, they've gone... shit, I'm so dead," He started mumbling. I could hear him pacing outside in the corridor and I tried to keep quiet. This was good - he didn't even think we were here. We just had to stay silent and he would hopefully go.

"Shit!" He yelled, slamming his fist against the door. I couldn't help my flinch as I snapped back, pulling my hands up as if to protect my face. The blanket was yanked up with my movements, and Jade saw what was happening before I realised. She only managed to take a step forwards, arm outstretched, before I heard my phone clattering off the floor. The man outside stopped his pacing, and I bit my lip as tears welled up behind my eyes.

"Wow, you almost got me there girls, congrats..." Time seemed to stop as he paused.

"I'm going to make sure you wished you were never fucking born," The door was suddenly kicked, a foot bursting through the middle of it. I screamed and rushed over to Jade, silence now forgotten in desperation. We made it into the kitchen just as the door was broken down, Jade slamming the kitchen door behind us. She threw my to the side as she slammed the table against the door, pushing back on it and looking at me.

"The fucking window, climb out the fucking window and call Greyson!" She hissed at me. I threw myself out the window, hands shaking violently as I tried to open it. Finally, I managed to knock it open, leaning out and staring down.

There were no stairs.

There was no way we could get down, no way we could jump. We were seven floors up, with no way down other than through the man trying to kill us.

"Hang onto the window and climb onto the roof! I've done it before, Love, just don't look down - you can get to the stairs from there, go, hurry!" Jade grunted as the door slammed the table into her back. The guy was swearing at us, screaming words so horrible I instantly wiped them from my mind. I nodded though, about to do as she said, when my head snapped up to her.

"How will you get out though?" Jade shook her head at me.

"Not the fucking time, now fuck off! Go!" I sobbed as I started trying to climb out of the window. I screamed as Jade was suddenly thrown across the room, her head slamming into the corner of the counter and her body falling limp to the ground.

"Jade!" I tried to shout, tried to call her over. I wanted so desperately to run over to her, but the guy threw one of the chairs out of his way, landed on top of her. My eyes shot up to him and time seemed to stop as he smirked, standing in the room, staring at me for a second.

"Pretty fucking thing, aren't you?" He tutted at me as I stood shaking, tears pouring down my face. "Shame, really, if you had just let me in, we could've had fun," He pouted mockingly. I wanted to gag at his heartless act, but instead my eyes went over to Jade before I could stop myself. She looked lifeless as she lay under a chair, blood beginning to pool around her head. He tutted at me again.

"Shame..." I screamed as he marched over to me, throwing myself backwards and desperately trying to climb out of the window, the panic giving me the useless hope that I could still escape, even as he grabbed me, yanking me backwards. My hands flew up to grab his arms that had wrapped themselves tightly around my waist, trying to rip them off before I choked. One of my nails caught his skin, dragging a red line down his arm. He hissed, pulling his arm away for a second to look at it, as though I wasn't screaming and fighting for my life.

"Bitch, I fucking hope Marcus makes you scream," He dragged me to the side, grabbed the back of my neck and before I could react, slammed me face first into the wall.

Instantly, I fell unconcious.
