《A Fungal Dream》Chapter 63.Dragon

“Fire Ball!”
The knight swung his staff in the air, creating another fireball.
“Dark Shield!”
By snapping his fingers on his healthy hands, Darkness created a shield made from darkness, which absorbed the blow.
“That voice…Darvin! Is he attacking me when his girlfriend is finally out of my storage? Too bad, I will just recapture her and punish him once I am done. I will make sure to break every bone in his body.
“Shadow Movements.”
I was sinking into the shadow under me, slithering towards the still unconscious War.
“Shine, my holy light! Shine brighter than the sun in the blue sky! Holy Flash!”
When I was a few inches away from her, a blinding light shined upon me, forcing me out of the darkness.
“What is this!”
Stab!
“AAAAAAA!”
Screaming in pain from the stabbing sensation I felt in my leg, I fell on my knees, shaking, when something kicked me in my abdomen.
“Did you really think I wasn’t prepared for this? It was obvious that your weakness was a light and holy element.”
I slowly turned on my back, facing my adversary.
There were now three of them.
Aside from the knight, there was now a figure clad in black leather clothing, holding two daggers in its hand and had its hood pooled up hiding his face from me.
The other one was standing the farthest from me.
It was wearing a white robe, with golden symbols on it. The figure's hands and head were wrapped into snow white bandages hiding its identity, and the golden mask of a high priest was on his head.
In the hand of the mummy, was a thick book and a silver staff.
“I have-“
“-prepared for-“
“-every situation.”
That voice...
Darwin’s voice rang through the mouths of these knight's fighters.
“How-What is happening!?”
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“I have won.”
“And now I will get rid of you for good.”
The priest stabbed the tip of the staff into the ground, the book in his hand glowing in a faint light.
Immediately alarms went off in my head, warning me not to let it happen.
“Dark Spears!”
From my hands, three spears made from darkness flew out in the direction of the priest.
Whoss!
The two warriors jumped before the attacks, tanking them with their own bodies.
“Get the hell out of my way!”
Opening a black hole, I grabbed something.
“What?”
hearing his shocked voice, I lifted the weapon high in the air.
It was his staff.
“Fear me! I have memorized your chant! I shall destroy you with your own weapon!”

I chanted the ancient words, feeling the power swelling up in me.
Finally, I have the power I desired! Soon I become the king of-
“Ough!”
Without warning a burning sensation washed over me. It was like my blood turned into flames, destroying me from inside.
In agony I fell to the floor, screaming louder than I ever did, my hand stuck to the scepter as it was fused to it.
“You fool.”
Even with the noise and agony dulling my senses, I could hear his voice crystal clear.
“That weapon was never meant to be used by someone like you. A being that resides in darkness should never try flying in the skies.”
Two hands grabbed my clothes and lifted me up in the air.
Through my tears, I looked down, at the bald head of Dealmaker, with the two fighters behind him.
“For the sin of opposing me, torturing War and the mother of my children, I shall robe you of the world. Etch my face into your mind because it will be the last thing you will see.”
With his hands he made me open my eyes, seeing his smiling face as he was reaching at me.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAA!”
*****
“Phew, I feel better.”
I threw the blinded Darkness on the ground and walked over him, cleaning my hand of his blood, stepping on two, important parts of his.
Squash!
“In case you wanted them back.”
With a strong stump, I broke his hand, taking my staff back as he screamed in agony.
It would be so easy to kill him. Just a well-placed blow on his neck and… lights out.
But I didn’t do it. As much as I hated him, he’s meant to fight that holy chicken and I had enough brain cells to know not to dispose of potential nuclear weapons.
True now he is pathetic, but in the future… who knows?
I looked at the puppets I made, seeing that they weren’t damaged too much.
They weren’t my best creations, mold imps that I reshaped with several man cores put into them.
They will expire shortly due to the unfamiliar mana slowly burning them from the inside, but they served their purpose.
“Rise up. It's time to go home.”
At my command, the ground started to shake violently. Cracks appeared on the floor which soon turned into craters, making money fall into darkness.
With the sound of rumbles, a green platform rose up, carrying the green woman and some of the magical objects that I handpicked.
‘Is it time to go?’
“Yes, it is. Allow me to make us a ride.”

Snapping my fingers, the army of imps flew in, gathering them up around them, slowly molding the mass into something that could take us away.
As I was slowly making our escape route, I heard explosions happening outside.
“The hell is happening?”
I quickly connected my vision to one of the lying imps outside.
“…Fuck.”
It was an army of horses. in the sky A flock of horses?
Whatever the term was, a group of flying horses was approaching us quickly destroying any imp they came in contact with.
“Shit. Can’t things just go smoothly? Come here!”
At my command, the puppets came to me.
Angrily I took the mask of the priest and put it on, as I was clenching my staff tightly.
“I need about an hour to complete this vehicle. All imps and fighters tore the enemies apart. Do not let them come close to us! Fight For me! Fight for the Father!”
*****
??? POV:
“Keep going! Don’t let them surround us! Left-wing, go up by five feet! Right-wing, go down, more of those red things are coming towards you!”
In the middle of the swarm of flying horses, a young man with a lip piercing was screaming orders into a glowing crystal.
He was wearing a military blue uniform, with a white ribbon running down his chest. In the wind, his black hair was swinging violently, as he screamed.
“We are going up! Front flank prot- Rearranged! They are rearranging!”
As if their minds were connected, the horses moved, as more and more monsters came at them.
‘There are too many of them! We are losing man!’
“Shit! Horses 6 to 12 follow us; we are attacking its back! The rest hold the monsters away from us!”
‘Alright!’
As he commanded, the horses dispersed, pushing the monsters away from them, giving them a clear path to the back of the monster.
“What the hell is that?”
The back of the creature was covered in a sea of white flowers, with ruins of buildings peeking out from there like islands.
In the middle of it, was a ruined church with its front broken.
“I plead to the sky, make snow and frost rain down onto the unworthy of flight! Frigid Wind!”
From above them, a violent freezing wind enveloped them, covering them in a thin sheet of ice.
“Above!”
One of the knights pointed at the sky where the figures were flying.
Without a world, they started to dive towards them, taking three horses with them.
“Everyone get-“
“I won’t let you.”
From nowhere, someone grabbed Jax’s arm and squeezed out the gem out of its hand.
It was a priest with his face and hands wrapped in bandages.
“This is the end. I shall pray for yo-“
Suddenly something happened. The priest looked in the distance speaking in a distant voice.
“It's done.”
The priest's body became lifeless and limp as if it were a puppet that had its strings cut, falling down onto the ground.
“What? What happened?”
Boom!
Accompanied by the sound that resembled thunder, the whole church building crumbled down as something crawled out from the ruins.
“…May the gods preserve us.”
It was a dragon.
It was a green reptilian-looking monster, consisting only of a rail, a bloated abdomen, a long, horse-like head, and about eight pairs of giant reptilian wings.
The creature made a roar that reminded Jax of the scream of a tortured cat, as it flapped its wings, lifting its body into the air.
From where they were, he could see something else that made no sense.
Standing on the head of the monster stood a man wearing a golden mask with a glowing book and a scepter.
“I, Plague Father, lift this prayer to the goddess of light! I desire the power of the angels singing her grace! I beg thee, destroy the foul monster standing before her divinity! Holy Purge!”
With a shout the man threw the two objects down onto the giant being, enveloping it in blinding light.
Once the light has finally extinguished, the dragon is gone, and the Giant behemoth has turned into… A statue of salt?
Yes, the behemoth now was a white statue that already started to crumble before their very eyes.
Jax looked at the destruction, still not able to understand what happened.
