《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》44: The Undeniable Love

Katelyn slowly opened her eyes and squinted around. Little by little the eye's focus came alive and vivid as she started examining her surroundings. She could now clearly see. Turning to one of her sides on the bed where she had realized her body rested on, she saw the man that dominated her heart, seemingly asleep. He had put his head on a pillow on the bed's headboard with a seated posture and hands crossed over the chest.
She resumed scrutinizing and looking around, and found that she was the only one covered with the bed blanket. The gentleman beside her was uncovered. She gently tried sitting up on the bed trying not to wake the special man in her heart, but eventually woke Lei up.
"Oh... you are awake." Lei swam up out of sleep, getting off the bed and walking to her side, "How are you feeling?"
The lady sighed, "Strangely fine."
Lei smiled, sitting beside her, "Then the house doctor did a fantastic job."
Katelyn smiled as well looking at him, then the smile began to faintly depreciate, "I didn't listen to you!" She looked bleak, tears gathering in her eyes, "I disobeyed you and_"
"Shh, my dear." Lei sat closer to her on the bed, "Don't say that. It was a choice you trusted. We all make choices that we trust, but sometimes they don't go as we plan. So, don't at all worry."
Katelyn sighed with tears in her eyes, "I just didn't want to disappoint my friend... but I felt guilty. It disturbed me knowing that you were against it..." She was chastened by what she had done with tear-filled eyes.
"It's alright.” Lei spoke lovingly, “The most important thing is that you are fine and nothing bad happened."
"Thanks to you!" Katelyn let out in pang of regret. The tears in her eyes started dropping on her cheeks.
"It's okay now. Let us leave it behind us." Lei gently rubbed the tears on her cheeks with the pad of his thumbs, "I want us to forget about it and concentrate here, right now at this present." He slowly leaned towards her and placed his lips in a light touch of kiss on her right eye, then the left. He did this in a gentle and softening taction.
The gesture that was without a doubt inspired by love felt good, consolatory, passionate and affectionate. It made healthy butterflies start playing inside Katelyn’s body and equally making her lips curve into an involuntary smile.
"That is sweet." Lei was focused at her smile, "Always exquisite with a smile. Now, try widening it."
Katelyn found herself widening the smile happily and amusedly. Oh, this man! She instantly felt relaxed, relieved and happy from the kiss the gentleman gave her and his company, "Thanks for coming and saving me in such a short period." Her face began to brighten, "I had a strong feeling that you will never fail me."
Lei felt pleased and exultant getting the words from her own mouth. So, I am that special to her! Then under no circumstance should I ever fail her! He openly showed how pleased he was, "Never failing is the work of a man who finds a special light in a given woman. He forever becomes her hero." He then cleared his pleased expression and looked at her deep in the eyes, "Heroes are never meant to fail. If they fail to the woman they care about and cherish, it will forever haunt them. I will never want that to happen to me."

A warm feeling ran inside Katelyn's heart with the words. She wondered if there was a man like him in the entire universe. Such a man is not even one in a million, he seems the only one in the whole lot. "Well," She beatifically smiled, "Thank you for that."
"You are welcome, beautiful." Lei said then got up, "I will go and get your breakfast." He started to the door, Katelyn still at him with a smile.
Before leaving, he turned back to her, "By the way, your best friend has been calling the whole night. I told her you will call her the moment you woke up. Your phone is right there at the bedside."
"She must have been worried sick. I will call her."
"Do that to relieve her." Lei said and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him.
Katelyn still looked at the door with a smile on her face after he had left. She then turned to the room she was in, looking around. The room looked simple, yet clean and well organized. There were a number of pictures of various footballers and pictures of car models on the creamy-painted walls of the room. On the floor of the room were white tiles.
The study table looked neatly arranged, and she could also see the closet open; getting a full view of the gentleman's trousers, jeans, tops and shoes- properly organized. A really neat guy! But bachelors aren’t supposed to be this neat. Or is there a woman who has been coming here and making the place well-ordered? She scoffed at the thought, yet more thronged in mind unwillingly. Could there have been a woman in his life who still persisted and pleaded to remain in his life? Gods know I would do the same if a godly man like him were to leave me. I would clutch into him and never let go. Was this woman doing the same? Could I be right?
Furthermore, I don’t have any knowledge of his life prior to meeting him, just like he doesn’t have mine. I was attracted to a man and the man meant everything to me. What about his case? Has he ever met a woman who meant everything to him? The woman who makes this damn room spotless? Besides, he is a man all women will die for. Is it possible he couldn’t see one special woman among the all?
She nodded her head with a final reassuring thought. Well, even if there is this woman that makes the room spotless, I can make it twice as spotless. But more importantly, I am the woman who has a special light in him. The woman he would never fail because it will haunt him forever. It clearly means I am the one in his heart and the one that means everything in his life. You can’t clean a man’s house well enough and expect to be his everything. That only comes when he sees a special light in a woman. Sorry to you, dear woman, I guess I will be the one taking over cleaning the room. I wish you the best and may a man out there find the special light in you.
She smiled at her thought and turned to the bedside looking for her mobile phone. She found it and called her best friend.
"Hello, Kate?" Sharon's tone sounded urgent and anxious.
"Yes, girl, it's me." Katelyn responded relaxedly.
"Oh, thank God." Sharon's voice immediately sounded relieved, "I was so worried! So tensed! I was almost_"

"Girl, I turned out fine and I am completely okay." Katelyn assured.
"Are you sure, girl?"
"I am in Lei's hands, the number one person I trust in the whole world."
"Okay, if you say so." Sharon calmly said, "We are going to talk all about it when we meet."
"Okay." Katelyn said as Lei walked back into the room with her breakfast, "When I come to the hostel I will call you."
"I am already at the hostel and will be here waiting for you." Sharon mentioned in earnestness.
"Okay, then, bye." Katelyn said and hung up, then looked up at Lei with a smile, "Hmm, milk, bread and..."
"Fried eggs." Lei offered, carrying a tray containing a glass of milk, a plate full of sliced bread and fried eggs, "One of my friends, the house doctor, recommended." He sat on the bed close to Katelyn with the breakfast, "I don't understand this thing with doctors and recommended meals to patients. I mean, if something happens to me, I would want to pamper my body, make it feel good, and my beer, whiskey and cigarettes will make my body feel good. Doctors are just brats."
Katelyn amusedly laughed looking at the greatest man to ever happen in her life. It seemed he would never cease to amuse her, "Beer, whiskey and cigarettes in a health crisis? Would you simply want to die?"
"Kate; beer, whiskey and cigarettes won't kill you in a health crisis. They will kill you when they are done with you, never in a health crisis."
Katelyn continued laughing, "I am not sure I understand you."
"Actually you are not the first, or the only one." Lei put the breakfast on her lap. She was still covered with the blanket to the waist, "Everybody usually doesn't understand me when I make a simple sense."
Katelyn held the breakfast, a warm infectious smile on her face, "But your statement in any way doesn't mean that you drink or smoke, right?"
Lei leaned in to her, "If I agree, will you widen that exquisite beautiful smile you have?"
"Absolutely."
"Okay. I don't drink nor smoke."
Katelyn wore a most beautiful smile with pleasure.
Lei was drawn beguilingly to the beauty the lady possessed with the smile, "I will never get tired of looking at your face, especially when you have that adorable, lovely smile." He said in an inscrutable tone filled with charm and passion.
The strange tone penetrated into Katelyn’s heart in an intriguingly special manner more than all the other compliments the gentleman had ever given her. She simply nodded mutely with the smile still in place.
At that moment, they got a knock at the door.
"Come in." Lei said looking at the door then back at Katelyn, "Please, eat the breakfast. It is supposed to fully regain you and do all the recovery stuffs the house doc said."
Katelyn pleasurably started eating the breakfast as Tyson and Michael entered the room. Tyson walked to the bed carrying a medical tray containing a syringe with a solution in it and a piece of cotton wool dipped in a spirit solution. Michael remained back at the door and crossed his arms over the chest looking at the friends.
"Good morning. How is the patient feeling?" Tyson said as he walked to the bed.
"Good morning. The patient is well, thank you." Katelyn smiled at him.
"That is fantastic to hear." Tyson got to the bed, "Just one more shot and you will forget about this medication." He started preparing for the injection.
"You see how doctors can lie, my dear?" Lei jested beside Katelyn, "They say it is the last one when it has barely begun."
"Now you are the one who is lying." Katelyn looked at him amusedly.
"My dear, I never lie. It is my cachet that draws people to me."
Katelyn looked at Tyson, "How long did it take him to swim across L. Victoria. Days? Weeks? Perhaps Months?"
Tyson finished the injection, "He is a liar. Try to change that in him."
Katelyn smiled, "I will try."
Lei looked at Tyson then back at Katelyn, "By the way, he is Tyson. We call him Ty, the house doc I was telling you about."
Katelyn nodded with pleasure.
"And that is Michael, we call him Mike." Lei referred to Michael on the door, "He is the lady of the house. He does things to absolute perfection. You should try his cooking_"
"Yeah. He is right." Michael walked closer to the bed in a whimsical sense of humour, "I do everything for him to absolute perfection. You will even feel jealous to some of the things I do, like regularly giving him a bath."
Katelyn laughed, "I think I am already feeling jealous."
"Okay..." Lei feigned a heavy sigh, still at Katelyn, "And there is also one more thing you need to know about him. He can twist anything right back at the attacker."
Katelyn kept laughing.
"That is quite good, Lei." Tyson said and stood from where he was near Katelyn, "That will be all for the patient. You will completely be back to yourself in a couple of minutes."
"Thank you, very much." Katelyn graciously said.
"Don't mention it. You are now family." Tyson cordially responded and walked out of the room with Michael.
"That is so lovely, Lei." Katelyn fondled lovelily after Lei's friends left, "I woke up fine. In fact very fine. He used the medication on me last night?"
"Yep. The moment I brought you here. He is a lifesaver in the house."
"I can see that." Katelyn nodded and continued with her breakfast.
"But when I brought you last night,” Lei watched as she ate, “He wanted to do a heart transplant on you, because he diagnosed that the drugs you were given by the rapists penetrated inside your heart." He leaned in close to her with a smile, "But I said No because I was afraid that the heart you have will go away with a special feeling in it." He cleared his smile, "I wouldn't ever allow that."
Katelyn sweetly smiled. What her heart always felt with his compliments was indescribable. She wished to have the feeling every day of her life, as long as she lived, "I won't and will never have a heart transplant, if that is your wish." She pleasantly said.
"It is my greatest wish." Lei brought back a smile on his face, "As long as you live."
Katelyn admirably looked at him. She lifted the glass of milk and took a sip from it, "Are we... at your place, or home?"
Lei moved in further on the bed and sat comfortably facing her, "This is a house I am renting with the buddies. After high school, we decided to start independent living. Tyson found a dispensary center in town and works as a nurse aid personnel. Michael found a job in a nearby cybercafé, and I, with the youth representative status at my place, always get hired by various institutions working or having partnerships with the government in order to give guidance and inspiration to the youths in the counseling centers around the city. So, the three of us make quite a fair amount that carters for the house rent and what we and the house itself needs."
"That is great!" Katelyn proudly commended, "You guys... are making up a great life. It's amazing."
"Thank you."
Katelyn bit a piece of bread, "So, you must be really great friends, right?"
"Best ever bosom buddies, ever since we met in high school. The friendship keeps growing stronger every day. Even if I find one of them messing around with you, it will still be okay, but not until I break his nose."
Katelyn softly laughed.
"In high school when we met," Lei favorably informed, "I was the class representative in our class. I gave them privileges and treats just like I had, and when I was made the head boy, the privileges came abundantly. We moved together to the head boy's quarters, had teachers' meals and special motivations, and we even had the privilege of getting out of the school compound whenever we wanted. We had fun, and our friendship kept growing stronger."
Katelyn was intently at him.
"Recently, Tyson's parents bought him a car. We all use the car freely. Everybody thinks that the car is ours- that we bought it with our combined hard work. No one can tell it is only Tyson’s car." Lei shortly paused, leading his hands to one of the lady's and gently held it, lifting it up, "And just yester night, I had never imagined Michael's computer skills could be of the greatest help ever in an event of my life.” He lifted the hand further up to his face and kissed it, “If it weren't for him, I can't imagine how I would be feeling right now." He closed his eyes for a moment with a sigh, then let go of the hand.
Katelyn wished he hadn’t let go. His hands encased in hers felt warm and spurred a pleasurable effect in the whole hand. When he kissed it, she felt more pleasure from the hand that made her feel blissful.
"We overcome a problem more easily and tackle issues more simply when we combine ourselves as one.” Lei continued, “We are always a single unit. That is what defines this friendship the most, and it is where I learned the true meaning of teamwork."
Katelyn wore a pleasurable smile intended to make him feel good from her beauty. There you go, this beauty is yours and yours alone, my dear. Feel good and lucky and proud that you are the man who owns it.
The information was auspiciously articulated, enabling her to truly understand the special and unique friendship they had, "That is marvelous!" She modestly quipped with the pleasurable smile still in place, "You are three guys with exceptional and unique lives. I believe you will all be successful and great."
She in turn held one of the gentleman's hands fondly, her breakfast still on her lap.
Lei felt a warm tingle inside of him with the touch and smile on her face. Gracious, woman. You are beautiful! "Thank you. I am honored to hear that from you." He put on a smile as well.
"You are welcome." Katelyn nodded pleasantly and got back to her breakfast. Suddenly, as if noticing just then, she clearly looked at herself, "This isn't what I wore yesterday!" She looked at the white T-shirt she was in.
"Yeah... about that..." Lei calmly said, "I changed you into a more... comfortable and loose clothing... and relaxing, too."
Katelyn peeped through the T-shirt, remembering she hadn’t put on any bra the day previous, then looked up at the gentleman, "So, you saw everything you are not supposed to see?" She quipped, almost playfully.
Lei noticed she wasn't in any way offended. His lips parted in a good-humored smile, "I used professional technique to change you. I didn't see a thing."
Katelyn sweetly and amusedly smiled, "You are mad."
"I am saying the truth."
"If you are, then I will take the shirt." Katelyn said while taking a good look at the T-shirt, "It's beautiful."
"No problem with that. It's yours from today." Lei affably said. The morning had filled him with elevated happiness and enthusiasm. It was a day of memorable experience, and he would write it down and live to remember.
"We will go in Tyson's car." Lei said, standing at the house's doorstep.
"Alright." Katelyn nodded with a smile, then turned to Tyson who was sitting in the living room, "Bye, Tyson."
"Bye." Tyson waved as Michael showed up from the corridor that led to the other rooms of the house.
"Oh, Michael, I am leaving." Katelyn looked at him, "Thank you for everything."
"It's alright." Michael said casually, "But before you go, can I see you for a minute?"
"Okay, time to go, my dear." Lei hurriedly said, sure that it had to be one of the friend's usual jokes. He simply cannot part with his jokes!
"No, no, Kate." Michael looked staidly composed, "Come with me for a minute."
Lei could sense the seriousness in the friend's tone and expression. Katelyn looked at him, as if to be given permission to see the friend.
"It's okay." Lei told her tenderly with a smile, "Go with him."
With the affirmation from the man she trusted and adored the most, Katelyn followed Michael to the corridor and vanished into one of the house rooms.
"What can Michael possibly be up to?" Tyson, seated on one of the living room couches, informed the friend.
Lei shook his head, "No clue.” In an instant, his features transformed into that of worry, “But I think I am excessively into this girl! I mean, I completely trust Mike, yet I am feeling growing jealousy! Should it be normal?" It was a rhetorical question to him, yet he couldn’t see it due to the feelings of unease that came to his body prior to the question.
Tyson saw how rhetorical the question was since the friend was the best relationship counselor he knew, but he understood him. He is still human, after all. He shared with him one of his own phrases that he had learned from the very friend concerning relationship affairs, "Feelings of jealousy is normal and okay. It happens, even to the closest of friends and even brothers." He smiled and went back to the morning papers he was engrossed in.
