《The Reject (COMPLETED)》Chapter 27: The Kiss.

Willow was a nervous wreck, she felt anxiety bubbling up inside her as she stared at her school in front of her and the students moving around it. She did identify most of them, they were her tormentors. She felt a chill run up her spine when she was reminded of the past year and its horrors. She wanted to do nothing but ask Rowan to take a U turn and go back home.

Rowan, as if feeling her nervousness, took her hand in his. Willow felt herself relax but what happened last spring still stayed fresh in her mind. "You'll be fine, I'll be there beside you the whole day."

Willow wanted to tell him that they won't be able to stay together the whole day, but she couldn't bring herself to ruin his fantasies. So, Willow just nodded.

Felix groaned from the backseat before shuffling out of the car. Willow felt more anxious when the majority of the people in the parking lot, turned to stare at Felix before turning to stare at them, since they still weren't out yet. Willow doubted they could recognize her, from the car.

"Hey," said Rowan cupping her cheek and drawing patterns on her hand. "Relax, breath in, breath out."

That made Willow smile and she did just as Rowan said. Rowan was by now rubbing her back as if trying to calm her down. It did help Willow till all she could think about were the sparks on her hand in his and his warm hand on her back.

When Willow felt better she stared at Rowan through her lashes, since she couldn't outright raise her head, in the fear of her bangs moving and flashing the thing hiding underneath it. When her blue eyes met his, her heart sped up. Her eyes straying to his red lips. Willow could swear that her heart once again started the hula dance that it had become an expert in these few days.

Willow moved her eyes back to Rowan's to find him staring at her lips. Willow wasn't sure who moved in first, or maybe they both did, Willow couldn't concentrate on that part as her eyes shut. She took a deep breath like Rowan had been telling her to just a minute ago before she felt his soft lips touch hers.

Willow felt euphoric. She had never been kissed before and staring at the couples making out in the hallways even made her feel grossed out. But she now knew why they all did so.

Rowan's hand which had been on her back circled around to hold her waist, his hand which had been holding hers came up to hold the nape of her neck and pulled her closer as his lips moved against hers slowly as he picked her up, not breaking the kiss and placed her on his lap.

Willow tasted the familiar taste of the energy bar on him. She moved her lips to match his pace and thankfully it wasn't one of those rough kisses that she had seen people doing around. She felt like she wouldn't be able to match his pace and would probably embarrass herself.

Willow ran her fingers through his soft hair and her other held onto his arm which was holding her neck.

When she was running out of breath, Rowan pulled back, much to her dismay. But then again, she had to breath in order to live and get some more kisses from Rowan.

Willow opened her eyes to find Rowan staring at her with a smile on his lips. His lips, were redder than usual making Willow want to kiss him again. She wondered if her lips were equally reddened and swollen, when she smiled back at him, she did feel that her lips were stiff. Her already flushed face blushed some more.

"Sorry, I couldn't help myself." Said Rowan.

"You don't have to." Was out of her mouth before she could stop herself.

When Rowan was going to kiss her again he stopped before sighing. "Felix wants to kill us."

Willow looked out the window to see Felix glaring at them, making Willow blush. But she remembered that the windows were heavily tinted, so she was sure Felix couldn't see them.

Willow moved off Rowan's lap when she finally took notice of their position. Clearing her throat, she shouldered her bag. Rowan grinned before pecking her on the lips before getting out of the car, before Willow could open her door, Rowan was already standing outside and was pulling the door open.

Rowan grabbed her hand, lacing their fingers before helping her down the giant car.

Willow was so happy by the time she was out of the car that she doubted anything could ruin her day. She had finally kissed Rowan and there were no obstacles either.

Rowan locked the doors before pulling her along with him, Felix was trailing behind them grumbling something about how clingy mates can be.

Willow could hear whispers going around the parking lot. They didn't get many new students if at all. Especially someone as handsome as Rowan, and let's not forget Felix.

Willow kept her eyes on their linked hands, but her ears could listen to all the people who were talking about how hot the new boys are and that the girl with them must be their sister. Willow almost glared at that girl.

Willow wondered if she should ask Rowan to go bald and grow a long beard. She was sure that will stop the girls from wanting him. Or maybe even that won't stop the girls. Rowan was just so gorgeous.

Rowan froze beside her, and stared at her with shocked eyes. "You wouldn't!"

"You can read minds?" Willow's eyes widened.

"Only if you want to say something to me. It's called a mind link."

Willow stared at Rowan. Mic testing one two three. Rowan can you hear me?

Rowan chuckled. Yes, I can her you. Willow almost swore. She was sure that Rowan didn't move his mouth, yet she had hears him and she was sure it wasn't just her mind playing tricks on her.

"Goddess is that Willow?" Gasps filled the air the moment the guy said this. Willow couldn't even talk telepathically with Rowan as panic settled in her. She was worried that they'll try to take Rowan away from her, highschool does that to you.

Willow didn't know she was clutching tightly on to Rowan's hand till he squeezed it back, as if assuring her that he'll never leave her. Willow felt herself relax as she got in the building before she once again felt panic settle in her when she noticed that majority of the students in hallway were staring at her, as if they had heard what happened outside.

More gasps filled the air when they saw her. She heard the words 'freak' 'ugly' and the one that was mostly used 'reject' passing around.

The last time she had been in the school, she was mostly treated like she didn't exist. But why were they suddenly looking at her like that. But what shocked her was the pity in their gaze. Why pity, Willow wondered.

Willow acted like she didn't notice anyone around her, though she was a huge pool of anxiety inside, and turned to Rowan.

"I'll take you to the office." Willow said softly, she just hoped that Rowan wasn't affected by all those stares.

Rowan did in fact act like he too didn't notice all the attention, he looked like he was an expert at it. "Lead the way."

Willow smiled at Rowan as multiple dramatic gasps were let out. But she didn't sweat over it and pulled Rowan along with her to the office.

"Willow!" Willow looked around at the familiar voice to find Melody staring at her with her eyes wide and mouth agape.

"Hey." Willow stopped walking when she found Melody standing with JR. They were quite inseparable.

Melody seemed like she was shocked by actual electric current, just that her purple hair didn't stick up in the air. Willow wondered if it was because of her sorry excuse for the bangs. She was about to tell her that they should talk later when Willow noticed that Melody wasn't staring at her hair but was looking at her neck. Willow automatically flushed when she was reminded of what layed under her sweater.

"Hello." JR's gentle voice floated out when he noticed that Melody wasn't going to make a move. "Sorry for the night before yesterday, we couldn't drop you back home from the party."

"No it's fine, we took an Uber back home."

"You took a what?" Asked Felix from Rowan's side.

"An Uber, Felix." Said Rowan as if he was looking down at Felix for not knowing what Uber was. Felix still looked confused.

Willow rolled her eyes but she couldn't help but grin.

The electric current decreased, as the short circuit seems to be fixed. Melody finally opened her mouth. "We need to talk."

"But I have to help them with their schedules."

Melody turned to JR. "Can you show them to the office babe?"

JR normally wouldn't normally decline helping others, but when Melody asked him to do something, no matter how bizarre the request is, he'll do it without any second spared. "Of course."

JR pecked Melody on the lips before leaving with Rowan and Felix. Melody, not wasting another second pulled Willow along with her and headed towards the restroom.

The moment the door closed behind them, Melody was on her like a koala and pulled at the neckline of the sweater Willow was wearing.

"Hey hey hey!" Willow pulled back swatting Melody's hands. "I know you love me but this isn't right. You have JR and I have—"

Melody cut her off. "And you have?"

"Rowan." Willow whispered, so quietly that even she wasn't sure what she said.

Melody took a deep breath in. "No one? Stop lying, I can practically smell him all over you."

"What are you?" Said Willow. "A werewolf?" like your boyfriend. Willow almost added it but thought again because she would wait till Melody will open up to her. But this was her way of hunting that she was aware of it even if Melody didn't tell her.

"How did you know?" Willow almost thought that Melody was joking but then she noticed the pure look of panic on Melody's face, before she scoffed. "He must have has told you."

"Wait what?" Willow was flabbergasted. Sure Rowan being a Vampire didn't affect her much she felt like she could accept it with her arms open, accept him with her arms open. JR being a Werewolf also didn't shock her much, sure they've known each other personally for a year now but she still knew him as Melody's boyfriend and he couldn't be considered her best friend. Just friend would do.

But Melody? She known Melody ever since they were in kindergarten. And one day suddenly finding out that your best friend, your only best friend turns out to be something you never expected her to be, was the biggest shock Willow received in the last forty-eight hours.

"You're—" Willow began before shaking her head. "You—"

"Did he not—did he not tell you?" Stuttered Melody.

Willow took the deepest breath she could muster before chocking on the air. "Oh my god, you're a werewolf! Wait—do you like, turn into eight foot hairy mon—being on two feet with a face of a wolf on the ful—"

"Stop!" Said Melody with her eyes wide open. "We turn into actual wolves, who walk on four legs and we can shift whenever we want to and not just on the full moons."

"On my god I saw a wolf in the woods the other day, and it did not eat me!" Said Willow when she was reminded of the black wolf. "Was that also a werewolf?"

"Wolves don't normally eat humans. Only when they are—why are you looking at me like that?"

"You mean to say that the big bad wolf had not planned on eating little red riding hood, her grandma and the seven Billy goats?"

"Where do the seven Billy goats come from, I'm talking about humans here."

"The seven Billy goats lived like humans! Of course they have every right be added here on the list!"

"Willow we're not having this conversation here." Melody opened her mouth to say something else but paused. In two seconds one of the doors to the cubicles opened and Willow could hear the clicking of heels against the tiled floor of the washroom.

"As much as your conversation was lovely to listen to," Lana paused before she narrowed her eyes at Willow or more like on her neck. She huffed. "I can't believe you actually mated."

"What do you mean?" Willow didn't have any hard feelings with Lana, but she clearly remembered Lana telling Rowan that Hunter was her mate.

Lana walked over to the wash basin to wash her hands, then looked at Willow through the mirror. "You're a human," thank you for noticing. "And he's a Vampire, of course he's gonna want to drink your blood after tasting it once. Rowan is probably going to lose his appetite."

That Willow doubted, she was sure that she had seen him finish half the family bucket from KFC, that they had for dinner yesterday.

As if knowing what she was thinking, Lana said, "I meant the blood, he might lose his appetite for blood, and would probably want it from you."

At that Willow, unconsciously touched the mark on her neck.

"I'm only telling this to you because I didn't know you two were together at the party."

"No hard feelings." Said Willow because she knew it was Rowan's fault, but then again she did understand why he did that. Being reminded of it now, she had forgotten to give a silent treatment to Rowan as she had previously planned.

Melody remained silent till Lana walked out. "He's not your mate."

Willow frowned. "Why would you say that?"

"Because Hunter is your mate!"

"Really? So you mean that the person who had started bullying me is my mate? Do you hear what you're saying?"

"I get that you don't believe me and even I find it hard to believe it as well, with the way he's been treating you and now that he's marked—" Melody stopped talking as if she couldn't bring herself to say anymore.

"Rowan is my mate, I feel something for him, something very big—"

"But he's not even eighteen!"

"—I agree that I had liked Hunter for a while there, but it's nothing compared to what I feel for Rowan."

Melody sighed, after a long silence she started talking. "The cramps you get," Melody paused. "You got them because Hunter was going around, sleeping!"

Willow raised her brows, how was Hunter sleeping connected to her cram—oh.

"For that to happen, there must have had been something! Some kind of bond, that bind you together."

"You say that Rowan is not my mate, then why would he find my blood," Willow almost cringed. "Sweet?"

"That might be because you have sweet blood." Said Melody, but Willow could see that she didn't sound so sure, though it was subtle, the uncertainty was there.

"Right, though there are many Vampires in this school, I've never had anyone come to me and tell me that I have sweet blood and if they could get a sip.

"The night of the party, we were attacked by dozens of werewolves, Natasha said that they were rouges."

Melody's eyes widened. "So that is how they were slaughtered."

"Rowan was poisoned after he bit into one of the werewolves," Willow shuddered, thinking of the night. "I gave him my blood Mel, and he was healed, completely."

Melody sucked in a breath. "It might've been a coincidence."

"No Mel, it wasn't. You say that Rowan has to be eighteen to find his mate right? He'll be turning eighteen in a few weeks."

Melody sighed. "I'm just looking out for you, I don't want you to be hurt after, all this." Melody waved her hands around. "I know there's no changing your mind but—" Melody was cut off by the door banging open and a loud growl which followed after it, making Willow jump as a squeak left her lips.

In no time she was pushed to the wall of the restroom, her eyes widening on Hunter who stood before her with his eyes as black as it could be. His arms entrapping her.

"Alpha!" Melody shrieked as many students got in the restroom as if all rest could be forgotten and only what was happening here was important.

"Let go Hunter." Willow whispered, she couldn't muster enough courage nor energy to talk to him, especially not with him looking like he wanted her head off her neck. "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing? Why don't you tell me what you did!" Now Willow was sure that laser beam were going to flash out of Hunter's eyes and he would successfully cut her head off. But looked like he was trying to keep them at bay, looked like he didn't want everyone to know that he was Superman's twin, the evil one, who apparently is nonexistent.

Willow wondered what was wrong with Hunter, he had tried to kabedon her twice within the forty-eight hours. But he only succeeded in scaring Willow and making her wish that it was Rowan in front of her.

"What did I do?" Willow sighed, though her voice was shaking.

Hunter continued glaring at her, before he pulled his hands away. He glared at her neck and before Willow could do anything he was pulling at the neckline of her sweater.

Willow shrieked, she was about to push Hunter away and say some not so colorful words, but someone beat her to it, as Hunter was pulled away from her, a punch landing on his oh so perfect face
