Cao Peizhi had returned to his tent, looking to see Lin Ning sitting down where the dining table was while stitching. Slowly walking up to her, he wanted to try and surprise her again. "Don't even think about it." Lin Ning could easily hear his footsteps now and know when he was there.

"You are starting to learn." Cao Peizhi lifted her quickly to sit on top of his lap, using his only hand. "I heard from Xu Meili that you cried today. What was it about?" Cao Peizhi had Lin Ning set her stitching materials down so that they could talk about it. Lin Ning didn't know how to start; she had faced down with the hope that he would leave it be.

"Ning, we are going to be husband and wife. I don't want us to be misunderstood or led astray by something that we cannot even resolve like right now. I am your husband as well. I want you to lean on me. Don't go through it alone."

"I.. I lean on you too much. It will become too much of a burden on you. I am weak and useless here. On top of that, I cannot even fight or help you in this battle that is happening between the crown prince and empress." Lin Ning's blindfold had been removed by Cao Peizhi, who had set it aside onto the dining table—feeling him wipe the corner of her eyes that were building tears once more.

"You are helping me. You being at my side is enough for me." Cao Peizhi had grabbed one of her hands, placing it on his heart. "If you are not by my side, then my heart would not be beating right now. I would be a dead man walking this soil alone. You have helped me more than you know it." Lin Ning could not believe that these words were for her; she wanted to cry more but felt Cao Peizhi seal her lips. After the kiss, he had their heads pressed against each other. "I love you with all my heart. Do not ever leave me."

"As to you." Lin Ning wanted the same, now holding a smile on her face with her heart easing up. Cao Peizhi had wanted them to be alone that night when...

"Lin Ning!!!! I need a few more things!!!" Rushing into the tent, Chun Yunchen noticed the two with some distance between each other.

"What did you need?!" Lin Ning had jumped off of Cao Peizhi, taking a step back while putting her blindfold on. Unsure of why Chun Yunchen just barged into the tent out of the blue.

"I have listed a few things that I need to make the prosthetic limb work. I do not know if this place has the tech- I mean the material that I need to finish it." Chun Yunchen did not even know if anyone would understand the type of things he needed if he said it.

"Well, we can head into the town to see if we could find the stuff that you need." Xu Meili entered the tent after and saw the young boy labeled as a 'genius' by Lin Ning.

"There is a town around here!?!?!" Chun Yunchen's face had brightened up, acting more like a child who had never gone out before. "I hope that they have the stuff that I need!!! Let's go!!!" Chun Yunchen had rushed out of the tent first, leaving the couple alone once more.

"Don't forget that we are going to attend the Lantern Festival. I will be waiting outside for you." Xu Meili saw the red-faced Lin Ning, who hoped that they did not see what happened.

Lin Ning figured that this could help her calm down even more if she went with Cao Peizhi. "I've never been to the town. Why don't we both go together?" Lin Ning reached out for Cao Peizhi's hand once more.

"If only it were just going to be the two of us." Cao Peizhi knew that they were going there since Chun Yunchen needed a few things, and Xu Meili invited Lin Ning to do, but he was still happy enough to know that he was going with Lin Ning. 'If only there weren't so many people involved in my life. The only good thing is that I gave my people a day off to enjoy the lantern festival with their loved ones.' Wishing that he could just spend the entire rest of the day with Lin Ning alone without his people there to bother them. Walking out in the open, he had to put on a disguise that he found pointless to wear.

Lin Ning had gone into the city within the border with Cao Peizhi and Chun Yunchen; she could hear the sound of people talking all around while walking and doing business. "Wow! There are so many things here!!!" Chun Yunchen had run off first to see what he could find to help him make the gadget.

"You just had to come along." Xu Meili was being followed by Yi Changpu, who had also disguised himself to not get recognized as the Crown Prince.

"I can't leave you alone. It's better with more people." Yi Changpu decided to tag along since there would be nothing to worry about at the moment.

"Very childish." Cao Peizhi complimented the child that ran off ahead of them.

"It is good that they are enjoying themselves. We can have this time to enjoy ourselves too." Lin Ning leaned her head against his shoulder, smiling to know that they were kind of on a date in a way. "How does the night look?"

Cao Peizhi heard her say; he turned to take a look at the sky that held stars and lanterns hung around to make it seem as though the day had not ended yet. "It is very bright tonight with the lanterns looking to be large fireflies in a way. The stars are shining down as well."

"Oh, I have never seen you use such words before." Yi Changpu was surprised to hear Cao Peizhi talk with such words for Lin Ning.

"You don't need to know that I am using such words. These words are only for Ning, not you." Cao Peizhi was clearly not going to say these words for Yi Changpu, who had eyes to see it all.

"I need these things!!!" Chun Yunchen had shouted for the four of them to go over to him since he had no money.

The four of them went to the stall, seeing all the odd things that Chun Yunchen was buying at that moment. Cao Peizhi sighed since he was the one putting his money down. Lin Ning opened her eyes behind her blindfold, seeing something glowing with a white color. Reaching her hand forth to pick it up, Cao Peizhi had noticed her picking up the item. "Did you want it?" He asked her.
