《The Solitary Sword Sovereign》Like Grass

Will already knew what his family was up to, and that his father was the prime minister of the Dragonheart Empire. He had asked Modus to put his family in safe positions of power, which he did. After all, who would be safer than the Prime Minister of an Empire? It was part of the reason he chose to join the Empire, albeit temporarily. But the fact that Jane was about to be sworn in as the 8th Supreme, that was news to him.
Will frowned heavily upon hearing this, but he quickly moved that topic aside. "I will deal with that when the time comes. For now, I have a question for you."
Ezra gestured for Will to talk, who put on a very somber expression as he spoke. His following words caused the temperature in the room to drop a few degrees.
"Tell me what happened in China."
…
There was a long silence that hung in the room. It was Ezra who broke the silence.
"Why should I tell you about that. You had nothing to do with it and the issue is now closed."
"I am connected because I chose to give you power that would give you advantages over everyone. So every action of yours that is concerning your strength involves me."
Ezra sighed in resignation and relaxed into the comfy chair.
"Before I tell you anything, you must understand fate. Fate is positive karma gained from incredible achievements. The karma for this falls to one's descendants. Meaning that the descendants have extremely good karma, and luck will be on their side.
The clans that created incredible dynasties and achieved amazing feats had gathered great amounts of fate. There was only one method to access that fate and bring out positive karma. And that was to create a fate apostle, a person who's body is directly affected by fate and can manipulate fate. Thus many of the families or clans with supreme fate gathered together and concentrated their bloodlines into one body, hopefully achieving the objective of having a child who was a fate apostle.

The clans' objective was achieved. Ying Tian, my father was a fate apostle! But he died at a young age, just after conceiving me before he could achieve anything, and I am his only child. Since I had half of the blood of a fate apostle there was a chance to become one, so I became the focus of every clan, the golden child if you will.
All sorts of elixirs and spiritual treasures were used to strengthen me. This coupled with my earth-shattering talent for cultivation made the clan's value even more. They wanted to control me, to the point of who I would sleep with.
Put simply, because I fell in love with Clementine, she was targeted. She was assassinated. She was my everything. As far as I was concerned I had no family. My so-called 'family' treated me like a lab rat. She was the only person who saw me for me. But…they took her from me.
After that, I crippled my own dantian making cultivation impossible for me, becoming garbage. This angered the clans greatly as they invested a lot of money into me. As punishment, I was forced to join a mental asylum, which is really a place to brainwash people to work for the clans. They failed to brainwash me, and every day my only solace was playing with you guys online by sneaking into an office. Then the system arrived, and that changed everything.
…
The clans gained power immediately because cultivation gave them a massive advantage. The soon took over half of China. They were also brainwashing people on a wide-scale through a wide variety of means such as music, television, etc, making everyone subconscious slaves to the clan. Then they decided to kill me since I was a thorn in their sides. Since the system had given me new strength they would not let me live, for our enmity was set in stone. I killed all their assassins but they would just send more. At some point, they were using civilians to attack me, but I killed them all, got them out of their misery. Eventually, I fucked up the clans, but before I could deliver the finishing blow Genesis came, and you know what happened next.

So yes, I did kill a lot of people, I killed my own countrymen day in day out, like I was mowing grass. I got rid of all the brainwashed ones and I broke the control of the clans, but the damage had been done.
Do you have a problem with anything I did."
Will had a lot of thoughts rattling about in his head. It was clear that Ezra was far from sane. The look in his eye wasn't one of clarity, not to mention his disheveled experience. Will didn't want to gain a crazy powerhouse's ire, so he decided to shift the topic.
Will raised a brow in condescension and said, "Damn straight I do, but for now Ima keep this to myself. Right now the whole planet is at stake. So we need to work together. You seem to know a lot about me, so tell me about this Genesis dude. Man sounds like Madhara Uchiha."
"Well, let me be straight up with you. Genesis is, without doubt, the strongest user on the planet. Like you he gained the favor of an immortal, gaining lessons, being sent to adventures on other worlds, he even got help in understanding the Dao. That with his freaky martial talent resulted in the current freak of nature.
He isn't much of a conquerer and spends 99 percent of his time training. He created the Samsara Sect as a safe haven for those ravaged by the aftershocks of the system, and at the same time, wanted it to be the first shield for planet earth should the planetary wars happen. According to Genesis, the first war came too soon. So right now the dude is trying to create a temporary alliance between him, Golden Lord, Musashi, and Dragonheart.
Peerless, in other words, you, should be in that list as you re a Sovereign but you are low leveled, have no territory and have no well-known feats. Putting Genesis in a tight spot. Everyone has agreed to follow Genesis through the war, but he wants to follow you, creating the current nonsense."
Will: Nonsense what nonsense?
Ezra: "Nah don't worry about that for now. Let's talk about something else. I want to explain to you how the cultivation world was structured before the system. I also want you to explain how you have two Empyrean Intents. Modus has told all of us what you can do and even told us that there were rewards for beating you, but you had to lower your power as required. Last time I checked Ignius fought you at 5 % and lost, very impressive."
Will: "How impressive?"
Ezra: "Let's just say I've lost a few times to five percent ignius.
These words put a smile on Will's face, but the next words made his face ugly
Ezra: "By the way, I was using 1 percent of mine."
