《Between Reality: G.Y Aspect》13: I Don't Want A Crush From An Angry Tiger

Katelyn tried hard on her bed to concentrate on a novel she was reading but found it impossible. Her mind and thoughts were in a kerfuffle that she couldn't control.

For the second time in her life, her heart had been touched, and with a vigor she couldn't deny. It now appeared obvious that she was wrong. She never thought nor imagined that she would ever be. Not in what she had strongly believed in. The first man who touched her heart was a man above all men in the eyes of everybody. He was handsome, exquisite, brilliant and accomplished. He had mastery, proficiency, dexterity and superiority in everything he touched and did. When they met, she felt an instant and powerful attraction for him. Her heart was greatly and strongly touched, in that she was sure no other man could ever match the feeling she had felt for this first man. He simply appeared infinite and eternal.

But the tale was now different.

The second man came into her life with a force unmatched by any man she had ever met, including the first man. He had matched the feeling she had for the first man, and completely. Physically, he was astonishingly similar to the first man. They both had handsome features and well-toned muscular bodies. If their heads were to be removed, no one could be able to tell who was who if put together. The only matter she didn't know was whether the second man was as intelligent and knowledgeable as the first, but her thoughts told her that he might have been equally intelligent. At first when they saw each other, she never thought or imagined the man was interested in her. He had shown with an irrefutable outward conviction that he was interested in her best friend. Not every man can come up with such a technique. You have to be intelligent to manage that.

Moreover, and to her surprise, the second man seemed more desirable to her than the first. He was a man with a good sense of humour, a man with confidence and pose, charming, interesting, and they had a connection and flow she always wished to have in a relationship. Furthermore, he was a man who was interested in her, unlike the first who wanted to be interested in the future.

The thoughts could not let her be, and so, she decided to finally sleep. She put the novel on the nightstand, but before she switched off the table lamp, her mobile phone suddenly vibrated with a ring. She reached for it and checked the caller. It was an unknown number.

With a grunt, she slid the screen of the phone to answer and called hello.

"Hello to you, Miss." The voice on the other line answered, "You have just won 10 million shillings. Can I give you the procedure of getting the money?"

Katelyn immediately felt her adrenaline awaken. Even on the phone, his voice still sounded similar to when he talked in person. She found herself smiling with a pleased delight, although she wondered where he could have found the number in such an incredibly short amount of time. God, who is this guy! "Yes, Lei," She said buoyantly, "I would like to get the procedure."

The other end of the line stayed quiet.

Lei held the phone out of the ear and turned to the friends, "Crap!" He whispered, "She just recognized me!"

Tyson maintained his eyes on the television screen and spoke, "I repeatedly told you that you sound the same when you are in person and equally when you are on the phone."

"Hello?" Katelyn called when Lei took long to reply.

"Excuse me, Miss, did you say Lei? I don't think we... work with any Lei in our... organization."

A flutter of excitement and amusement ran through Katelyn, "In that case, then, keep your money and surprise it with somebody else." She calmly said and hung up, pretty sure if the gentleman had a way of getting her number, he would as soon call back. But if he didn't, and she strongly hoped not to be the case, she would not be able to bear it.

Lei stared at his phone in surprise. She hung up! "What the hell...!" He looked at the friends, "She just hung up!” He let out a snort, “But whether she likes it or not, she has to flow with me." He then redialed the number.

"Why don't you like simply say; it is me Lei, I got your number, how are you, blah, blah, blah and good night? How is that hard to say like a normal person does?" Michael suggested while eating a packet of his favorite crisps.

"Mike, if you be open and shallow," Lei put the phone on the ear as it called, "It is like pilau without the cloves, cinnamon, black peppercorns and the others that make it spicy. I like my moves spicy."

A profound feeling of jovial significance ran in Katelyn's entire bloodstream when she checked the caller on her ringing phone. She answered it happily.

"Miss," Lei promptly started before the lady could say anything, "I am terribly sorry as these my colleagues didn't know there is actually a Lei in the promoti... organization. Please don't hang up. It is the Lei you are speaking to."

Katelyn held her laugh, feeling chuffed in the moment. She could feel an emotional spark playing around her heart, "Okay, Lei, but first things first," Her tone was controlled sweetly, "How on earth did you get this number! It is totally secured and out of reach by anybody who needs it."

The tone evenly soothed over Lei's bloodstreams and heart. He could also feel the emotional spark, "Why don't you be a smart girl and take a guess?" His lips loosened in a furtively exultant smile.

There was a short pause from the other line.

"There is only one way; SHARON!" Katelyn said after a short thought, "You probably sweet-talked her or choked it out of her."

Lei laughed, "Who the hell is Sharon?"

"Oh, the smart mister. Which kind of my best friend did you mean back at the hangout joint?"

"Oh...!" Lei quickly searched for words, "That... that I found I had made a mistake. I meant a totally different person."

Katelyn amusedly smiled, "Don't you be smart, mister."

"I would like to be, but Sharon is a new vocabulary in my dictionary."

"Then I am out of any possible guesses. Give me a clue or lead."

"Hey, beautiful, there will be no any clue or lead. I would rather see how a hustler of a lady you can be."

Katelyn softly and pleasantly laughed, "Tables turned, I see. But just know that it won't take me long to know."

Lei as well laughed, his gentle, "I am sure it will." He shortly paused, "By the way, Kate, I would like us to be friends; seeing each other and getting to know one another. You understand the way these things connect, yeah?"

Katelyn felt the warm whoosh of fluttering butterflies within her by the tone and meaning of the gentleman. She knew it would eventually get to the point, but she never knew the moment would come with a sweet fizzy feeling that spread in her entire body, even though it was just over the phone. She wondered how it could have been when they were in person.

"Friends?" She said with a pleasingly fluid voice, "I don't think that will be a good idea. My boyfriend is such a strict person."

"Boyfriend?" Lei acted gravely intent, "You mean he is a jealous freak?"

"Like a tiger in its territory during mating seasons." Katelyn smiled as she put one of the bed pillows on the headboard of the bed and laid comfortably. She had never felt so good and excited in her life. All the happiness of the world was at the moment and with her.

"Hmm... then that is one hell of a man I wouldn't want to cross paths with." Lei said, ideas never failing in him, "How about then we be friends online? I will be calling you every single night at this time?" It felt good saying the words. He wished he could repeat them over and over, even for a thousand times. He had a strong feeling it would still feel amazing saying them.

Katelyn's heart pounded with pleasure at the gentleman's pursuing skills, "Let us see..." She thought of adding more challenges to his quest, only with the hope to make the moment more interesting, "Every single night at this time? Well, that also cannot be possible, because every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, I spend some beautiful non-disturbing quality time with him- from evening, all night long to morning." Let’s see how he responds to that. Katelyn was all racy and lewd from where she laid.

Lei had dealt with many, but this one was the only type he had ever wished to date. He liked a woman who was intelligent, outgoing, brilliant, free-spirited and interesting. He had never met one until this moment. All that he used to meet were either mild, gentle, humble or submissive- qualities that never fulfilled him. He always wanted a challenge in a woman to date. A woman with intelligent conversations and confidence. A woman who would freely speak her mind, who would be free in communication, and who would be fun and interesting to interact with, and still, a woman with essential primary qualities in any man's eyes; a woman with responsible positive behavior. Katelyn seemed to be that woman.

"You mean every day you spend the night together?" He quipped over the phone.

"We define it as true love. Loving each other deep and sharing ourselves every moment." Katelyn was now happily giggling. If only Lei could see her then.

"That... sounds sweet, although there is one little problem with your everyday quality time ja vu." Lei was all smiles knowing he would be the victor in the night.

"I don't think there is, only if you fix one." Katelyn hesitantly said, not knowing what the gentleman was up to.

"I am going to fix no any, sweet flower. The problem is clearly open." Lei pointed out the flaw in her conception, "How about today? This night? This time?"

Katelyn had not considered the thought, "Today... he… is out of town. He traveled."

Lei let her hear his light laughter and then decided to end the conversation as it were, "Okay, you win. I will not call or cause any disturbance. I don't want a crush from an angry tiger."

Katelyn laughed, "So, you can be taken down easily?"

"I guess so. But I would like to take this opportunity in the tiger’s absence to wish you a peaceful, lovely and beautiful nightmare."

The humour was continuously amusing to Katelyn, "Same to you, though I would be happy if you have lots of them." She said with an obvious delight.

Lei laughed, "I have a lucky charm that always ensures I don't get any." He said, then cooed softly, "Have a lovely good night, beautiful."

"You, too." Katelyn smiled, feeling undeniable chemistry between them. The feeling at heart was gradually getting stronger, and she knew what it meant, because she had read uncountable romantic articles and novels; even written one herself.

Lei walked to the friends still holding his phone. They appeared to be absorbed in the ongoing night program in their rental house living room television.

"The course is done." He happily said, "She is now closer, much more to my expectations."

"The conversation seemed tough. You sure she is even close?" Michael looked up at him.

"I know what I am saying, Mike. My box has attractive beautiful decorations. I am positive the girl has seen them, and will soon get into the box." Lei said and walked to the house kitchen, his mood blissful.
