《The Reject (COMPLETED)》Chapter 13: Jealousy.

The ride to the party was quiet besides Panic! At The Disco going on the radio, but the car was stiff with tension. Willow knew that Melody wanted to ask why she brought Rowan and Felix along with her.
After a long time Melody did turn to her from the passenger seat. Her expression said everything that she wanted to ask: Why are they here?
Willow shook her head, making sure it wasn't obvious: Not now.
Melody's eyes widened and her mouth opened up as if asking: If not now, then when?
Willow reassured her giving her a single nod: Later, at the party. Now stop, we don't want to be caught here.
Melody still looked displeased: Okay, I'll be waiting.
Melody turned back in her seat, facing the front.
Willow caught Rowan staring at her from the corner of her eyes. Turning to him, she smiled at him hoping at he didn't notice the exchange between her and Melody.
Rowan's face was blank. He turned back to waiting the the houses flash by. A lump formed up in Willow's throat. That is how it's been for a while. It was as if the Rowan she once knew all this time was just putting up an act. Gone was the boy she knew for more than a week.
It hurt, when she was met with this behavior of his. For the past week, she had been trying to talk to him but he had either avoided it or only gave short replies, making it obvious he wanted to end the conversation. It had been the worst week of her life, she felt like she was back to the first day of her sophomore year. Back when Hunter had confronted her. Back when all of her friends started leaving her, back when she became a sheep for those wolves to eat. Or more like to dominate over.
Since Willow was stuck in the middle, she couldn't lean forward on the front seat to hide from the world, so she had to lean back on her seat and shut her eyes. Her hand griping her sling bag tightly.
She reasoned with herself that she shouldn't cry over this, on top of that she even had makeup on her face, but it was all it was all in vain since she felt the tears gaining behind her eyelids. She breathed in deeply, calming her raging heart and her reddened eyes.

She was suddenly angry. Angry at Rowan's behavior. Angry at herself more than anything else. Angry that she had plunged into the pool of feelings the moment a breathtakingly handsome boy was kind to her. That must have been it! He must have been aware of her growing feelings and must not feel that way about her. But he didn't have to take this measure. He could have simply confronted her and, well rejected her. It would have hurt but this behavior killed her. She would have come to accept her unwanted feelings and gotten over them hopefully soon.
From all this she came to the conclusion that,
a) Rowan had a girlfriend.
b) Rowan was aware of her feelings and didn't think of her as a girlfriend material.
c) Rowan has double personalities.
d) All of the above.
Or maybe he just didn't want to do anything with her anymore.
"You didn't have to come if you don't want to." Said Willow opening her eyes, surprising herself at how calm her voice sounded.
Rowan looked over at her. "Who said that?"
"No one," Paused Willow. "But you don't seem like you wanted to come in the first place. We can drop you back or somewhere else. If you have a place you want to visit."
Rowan seemed to consider it, before he shook his head. "I want to come." He turned back to watch the window, ending the conversation just like that. Bring the car back to it silence with Brendon Urie who was about to hit the last chorus about the death of a bachelor.
Thankfully it wasn't long before they got to Nick Nelson's house, where the party was being held. Willow didn't know why the party was being held today. Seeing how most of the students will get home the next day. The students from school who were away to the camp. But she wasn't complaining.
All of them were Hunter's friends, either that or worshippers. No kidding. They think of him as God, no matter how mean he's to them. Willow felt that she was also added in the latter list. She was also smitten by Hunter though he was very harsh with her. Her heart still speed up whenever she'll see Hunter even now. She didn't want it to and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop the feelings, they clung to her.

Stepping out of the car, they all hed to the door. Whoop here goes nothing—or everything.
Willow stared at Rowan through the crowd. Her chest was burning, she had a huge lump in her throat, which didn't go away even though she drank the water she got from home. She wanted to cry so bad.
Why was it that she only fell for boys who she had no chance to be with?
Melody had left with JR, and were no doubt making out in some corner, or a room, you never know. But she only left after Willow had reassured her that she was fine. But the truth was she didn't want to be a third wheel, it sucks. Rowan and Felix disappeared right after they had got in.
Currently Rowan was in the living room, which was turned into a dancefloor. The rest of the house was for couples to make out or for drug dealers to sell their—well drugs. Even Willow was offered to buy some with a five percent of discount since it was her first time. She declined, of course. The kitchen was empty with people occasionally coming in to get refreshments of alcohol. There was also food and she found Cheetos, but it had turned soft, and tasted nothing like her beloved Cheetos.
Rowan was standing in front of Lana Nelson. They moved to the song, while they talked to each other, laughing every now and then.
Lana Nelson was in the same grade as Willow. She was the most beautiful, as beautiful as Triple Jordan, with sandy blonde hair and forest green eyes, she was also the twin of Nick Nelson. She was even nice compared to Triple. She wasn't in the Hunter's group of friends and wasn't a bully either nor did she involve herself in any way. But Willow didn't blame her. They weren't even friends to begin with. Willow had Melody and it was enough for her. There was also JR.
Lana felt like a perfect match for Rowan. And it hurt, very much.
Not being able to take it anymore, Willow turned around to find some place to sit. But the image of Rowan and Lana had already been carved in her mind and the tear ducts threatened to break free. She headed upstairs hoping to find an empty bathroom or a bedroom, any place she could stay alone.
"Hey girl, are you alone?" Said a guy on the stairs, who smelled like alcohol. Willow knew him from school, but couldn't remember his name. "Because I am too, why don't we get-"
"No thank you." Said Willow cutting him off, her voice was stiff with emotions and she was sure her eyes were turning red. She grabbed the pepper spray A.K.A. deodorant in her bag, keep in her hand hidden. Not wanting to risk anything.
"Are you sure?"
"Hundred percent."
"You sure sure? This is a once in a life time opportunity."
"I'll live."
"You'll regret it in the future for missing a chance with me."
"I'll have to live with my regret then."
"Your loss." He muttered as Willow continued walking, her hand still wrapped around the pepper spray, ready to attack if he comes after her. Hopefully he didn't.
She found herself in a long hallway at the end of the stairs. There were three doors at one side and two the other.
Willow turned the knob to the first, but it was locked. She continued to the second and was about to turn the knob but stopped in time, when she heard sounds from the room, the type which should not be mentioned here. She opened the last door on her right, thankfully it wasn't locked.
But opening this door might be her biggest regret, rejecting the drunk guy on the stairs wasn't.
Pushed against the wall was Peyton Walker, with her hand running over the guy who was kissing her. The guy without a doubt was Hunter. She was sure with the sting that soon followed.
Peyton was one of Triple's best friends, and here she was, making out with her best friend's boyfriend.
Willow felt frozen to the spot unable to stop the tears anymore.
