《Love Death Cemetery》Chap 37: Two divers

Lug was woken up by voices talking over his head.
When he opened his eyes he saw Hannah at the table talking with Gavan.
He thought he was still sleeping and rested his head on the pillow.
His body was sore from having slept on the floor.
"My back hurts... Am I really awake?" he thought.
"Oh Lug is awake!" Hannah shouted.
"Hello? What's going on? Are you alright? And... are you talking to yourself?"
Lug said, firing off questions like a machine gun.
Hannah laughed.
"No no, I'm not talking to myself! You didn't tell me you had a roommate, he told me a bunch of stuff about you."
Hannah looked as cheerful and energetic as ever.
Lug for his part couldn't believe it.
"You see... Gavan?"
"Yes! I imagined ghosts with a white sheet on their heads, but in the end they are just like us, normal people."
"Normal people... Us? Who see ghosts? Huh..."
"You don't seem very happy that I'm finally part of your world ; but anyway… You were right Lug and I'm sorry I doubted you!" Hannah stood up and took his hands.
"That's why we met I'm sure, it's to have this kind of adventure! This is amazing!" said Hannah.
She did not stay in place.
Lug for his part, was torn between the excitement of learning more about himself and the ghosts, and the apprehension of seeing his tranquility disappear forever.
"Shall we eat and go see the Wise One?" Lug asked.
"The Wise One? The ghost of the crypt?"
"Yes that's right."
"You can count on me!" Hannah answered with a big smile and an air of revenge.
They ate with Gavan who liked Hannah very much but found her a little too noisy.

After eating, they got ready to go out.
Hannah asked Lug:
"You seem to have quickly come to terms with the fact that I can see ghosts."
"I think it's normal, in fact I mostly had a hard time getting used to the fact that you can't see them." Lug joked.
Hannah smiled.
As Lug got dressed he felt his hands vibrate.
It was as if just under his skin there were microscopic insects wandering around.
It wasn't unpleasant, it was actually quite relaxing.
"Is that what psychic energy is?" he asked himself.
"Lug are you ready?" said Hannah looking at him with a smile and a determined look.
"Yes, let's go."
They walked out and came face to face with Eno who was listening at the door.
Eno, caught in the act, began to explain himself to Lug.
"I heard more noises than usual, I was just wondering if everything was okay... That's all."
He didn't look at Hannah, thinking she didn't see him, he kept talking.
"Hannah slept over...? Oh oh oh you managed to..."
Lug put his hand in front of Eno's mouth.
"Eno, I have something to tell you: Hannah can see and hear you."
Eno slowly turned his bulging eyes to Hannah.
She looked at him with a laugh.
"Ahahah, nice to meet you, Eno!"
She held out her hand, but when Eno reached for it, it went right through him.
"I can't touch you?" said Hannah.
"No, the living can't touch ghosts. Lug is the only exception..." said Lug
He then looked at Hannah and mimed shaking her hand.
Hannah was amused by this and did the same.
"We're in a bit of a hurry we're going to have to leave you" Lug said as he motioned Hannah forward.

Eno took Lug's arm and said in his ear.
"I don't know what's going on but you better explain everything to me when you get back..."
"Of course. I'm just as lost as you are" replied Lug.
They walked away from the house and headed towards Roseraies.
"Isn't Eno coming with us?" Hannah asked.
"No, southern ghosts don't mix with northern ones. They may be ghosts, but they still have their human ways."
"Unequal up to the coffin... And even beyond."
"That's right..." replied Lug as he pressed his pace.
Hannah followed him with a look of wonder.
She turned her head in all directions.
"It's amazing Lug, all these people in period clothing!"
It had been a long time since Lug had been sensitive to this spectacle.
But it warmed his heart to see Hannah take in a sight that was only available to them.
It took them a little longer than usual to get to Roserais.
Hannah had to be pulled by the arm many times.
Especially when she saw children.
She couldn't help but talk to them every time she encountered one.
Once in front of the tomb, they took a deep breath.
They looked like two divers about to dive into the Mariana Trench.
Every step they took on the marble staircase made their shoulders heavier.
Their stomachs were tied up in knots, their breathing jerky.
The ghost in that crypt held the secrets of an unexplored world.
Neither of these two adventurers was prepared for what they would discover.
