“Zoe did what?” Nucky asked.

“She paid off her whole debt plus an additional 5K,” Tony answered.

“How?” Vincent asked.

“Vinnie, she claimed she hit the jackpot,” Tony shrugged.

“You don’t believe that” Vinnie replied.

“You’re right, I don’t,” Tony said. “Still, it’s not my place to complain about making easy money like this. Ten percent interest on 50 grand in just a few months is nothing to sneeze at.”

“Too true,” Vinnie agreed. “And she doesn’t strike me as the sort to waste money gambling.”

“Me either,” Tony agreed.

“Do you think Zoe might have had something to do with that Raven VP theft?” Nucky asked his underlings after sipping his drink. “We all doubt it was corporate payback since the money went to charities instead of some executive’s personal account.”

“True. If it had been a rival corporation, there would have been a bit more blowback by now instead of just rumors,” Vinnie said. “Jimmy mentioned before that Zoe is a bit of a slicer or coder. Do you think she would have the skills needed to pull off such a job?”

“No,” Tony replied. “At least Sal doesn’t think so.”

“Me either,” Nucky added. “When we talked to the Purity Church elders Wyatt had said she was fair, but nothing special when it comes to slicing.”

“How would he know? He was more interested in reclaiming her so he could ‘purify’ the girl for her ‘sins’ and add her to his harem than for her brains,” Tony laughed using air quotes.

“That’s true,” Nucky agreed. “Guys like him are dumb. I get the control aspect and appreciate it, but girls are meant to be used and dumped once you’re done with them instead of keeping them around.”

“From what I understand, the religious sort like the Purity Church is big on pregnancies and using them as proof of their manhood,” Vinnie said. He raised his glass to toast. “Like you said Nucky, morons.”

“Salute” The three laughed and took a drink.

“Why’s it so quiet in here?” Nucky asked after setting down his glass. “And where is everyone?”

“No idea,” Vinnie replied.

“Let me check,” Tony said getting up. Tommy, Jimmy, and two others entered from the kitchen. “Where have you four been and where’s the staff?”

“I sent them home,” Tommy answered.

“And just who do you think you are to dismiss my workers?” Nucky asked glaring at the younger man. Two more men entered from the front doors. “I have a business to run here.”

“I’m Tommy Romano, that’s who,” Tommy replied.

“It’s good that you know your whole name,” Nucky said standing up. “Keep disrespecting me and I’ll show you who you are.”

“Disrespecting you?” Tommy laughed. “That’s rich coming from you. The problem Nucky, is that you’ve disrespected me for years.”

“Tommy…” Tony said in warning.

“No! You’ve disrespected me too, Tony. I’m sick of it!” Tommy all but screamed at the older men. He reached behind him and pulled twin pistols before pointing them at Tony and Nucky. “And it ends today. I will claim my respect now!”

“You pull your guns on me?” Nucky asked in a low, dangerous tone of voice.

“Yeah,” Tommy replied grinning at his boss.

“Don’t just stand there, you morons. Get him!” Tony ordered. Jimmy and the others just stood there. “You two Jimmy?”

Jimmy shrugged in answer before pulling out his own gun. The other four men followed suit.

“Now wait a minute! We can talk about this,” Nucky tried. He wasn’t armed and neither was Vincent or Tony. They hadn’t had to carry in years.

“I don’t think so,” Tommy replied shaking his head. He pulled the triggers and shot Riccardo “Nucky” Capone in the chest four times while Vincent tried to hide under the table.

Jimmy stood there as the other two men flanking him and Tommy opened fire on Tony. The two that came in the front opened fire on Vincent. A moment later, it was over.

“You know, instead of just changing management, maybe I should change the name of this place and the family,” Tommy said to the others.

“Just leave it alone. That way it keeps your name out of the press and police reports,” Jimmy said.

“Jimmy’s right,” one of the others said. The others didn’t care.

“I’ll think about it,” Tommy said as he stepped over to Nucky’s body and toed it. He squatted. “Still breathing?”

Nucky glared at him, so Tommy shot his former boss in the face twice.

“He’s not anymore,” one of the other men said.

“Frank, you have a gift for the obvious,” Jimmy replied making the others laugh.

“Thanks Jimmy. Tony is still alive too,” Frank said.

“Jimmy, I noticed you didn’t shoot with the rest of us,” Tommy said.

“Eh, you know how it is,” Jimmy replied.

“No Jimmy. I don’t know how it is,” Tommy said. He stood and approached Jimmy. “Either you’re with me or against me. And if you’re with me, it’s time to make your bones.”

“Tommy…”

“Nope. You know what you have to do,” the new Capone family boss said.

Jimmy walked over to Tony and gazed down at the man while the others backed off. Jimmy pointed his gun at his former underboss.

“Just…do…it,” Tony whispered to Jimmy. He sucked in a deep breath. “This has always been the way of things.”

Jimmy blinked and pulled the trigger.

“Well done,” Tommy praised. He gestured at the three corpses and blood as Jimmy stood there shaking. “Frank, get some people in here to clean up this mess. Jimmy, come with me to the bar. We’ll have a drink to celebrate my promotion and yours, as well as go over the books.”

“As you can see, the Capone family…” Sal started but fell silent as Tommy glared daggers at him over the three-way call they were on. “I mean your family is very well off.”

“Where did this new 47000 credit deposit come from?” Jimmy asked. A few 1000 credit a shot drinks had calmed him down a lot.

“That’s a good question,” Tommy agreed before downing another shot of whiskey.

“Zoe Blanco paid off her debt with interest. Tony even made sure to sign a receipt for her including witnesses,” Sal answered.

“Huh,” Tommy muttered. “Jimmy, how did she come across that kind of money?”

“I have no idea. From what I understand, Zoe was just doing well enough to get by.”

“Maybe she won the lottery or something,” Sal offered. “That, stole it, or spread her legs for it.”

“Zoe’s not like that,” Jimmy protested. Sal just shrugged.

“I sort of agree with Jimmy,” Tommy said. “She always turned me down.”

Sal and Jimmy exchanged a quick look that Tommy failed to notice.

“Anyway,” Sal said. “It doesn’t really matter where or how she got the money. What’s important is that the debt is paid.”

“That’s a good point, but I was looking forward to having her under my thumb,” Tommy said.

“Tommy, she’s my cousin,” Jimmy replied.

“Alright. There’s plenty more fish in the sea,” Tommy said. “Jimmy, go get cleaned up and start scouting out nightclubs. I think I want to move our headquarters to somewhere more my style than a restaurant.”

“Sure Tommy. I’ll call you later,” Jimmy said before standing, dropping out of the three-way call, and walking out as a few workers mopped the floor.

“Sal?”

“Yeah Tommy?”

“Reach out to the Bratva and the Purity Church. See what they are willing to pay for little Miss Blanco.”

“Tommy, didn’t you just agree to leave her alone?” Sal asked.

“No. I agreed she wouldn’t be under my control,” Tommy replied. “But she disrespected me and that is something I cannot tolerate.”

“We could still use her for the bank heist Nucky had been planning.”

“Nah. I’d rather see her get what she deserves instead of being framed for a crime and rotting in prison,” Tommy said.

“Alright. I’ll let you know what I hear.”

“Excellent.”
