The group was relaxing in the hotel room in Cyllage. Serena was in the kitchen, making food, with Bonnie occasionally coming up to her and begging to help, only to be denied. Climont was doing whatever he was doing with his metal box thing on the table and Ash was lazing around watching Tv.

Suddenly, Climont's smaller metal rectangle (I think it's called a phone?) vibrated furiously while emitting a bell noise. He picked it up and held it to his ear.

"Hello?" He greeted. Some silence followed before Climont flinched a little.

"Why wasn't I informed sooner?" He asked, standing from the table. He walked out of sight into another room. But nobody seemed to pay any notice.

Climont appeared again after a while, calling his sister.

"Bonnie?"

"Yeah?"

Climont cleared his throat.

"We have to go back to Lumiose city. The gym and Climont bot was damaged a freak storm."

Bonnie sighed. She got up from her seat and walked off, presumably to pack her stuff.

TIMESKIP

After the siblings left, Ash wanted to go to Coumaline city next, so he could challenge the next gym leader. Serena also mentioned that the leader was an old man and the gym was in a tree.

We left the rocky Cyllage City behind and journeyed down the path.

It was quiet and still. The wind wasn't picking up and there were no living things in sight besides the ever present trees. Usually something bad would happen.

I sure hope I didn't just jinxed that.

As Ash and Serena walked (I was in my pokeball), a clearing in the forest came into view. It looked like a nice resting spot, with rocks to sit on and short grass.

But upon nearing closer, it starting looking more like ruins than simple rocks. As the full space came unto view, Ash's and Serena's mouths dropped.

It was the ruins of structure, a building leading into the ground. It was black and grey in color with a flame symbol on a piece of rubble.

The heavy metal door was kicked down and there were clear signs of pokemon moves being used. Burn marks, puddles, even the scratching on the walls by large claws.

Without hesitation, Ash approched the ruins and looked around. As soon as he spotted the insignia on the concrete, he flinched. He knew what it meant.

"This is Team Flare..." he muttered.

He looked around and saw a staircase leading into the dark basements of the base. As he made his way over there a hand from behind stopped him.

"Ash, is this a good idea?" Serena asked nervously. Ash smiled a little.

"We'll be fine. I'm pretty sure no one's here anyway."

The two desended down, Ash leading the way. The seemed the entire base was raided and destroyed, seeing sunlight shining down on the massive holes where the floors below could be seen. The walls were knocked down and there were no signs of life.

"What happened here?" Ash muttered to himself again. He looked over a gorge in the floor to see a hole that spiraled down, and down, and down into darkness. He quickly stumbled back from the sight.

The boy grabbed Serena's hand and they went back up to the surface.

"Do you know what this is?" Serena asked, shaking a bit.

"Yeah, this was a Team Flare base, but I haven't seen those guys for a while. This might have been why."

"But who could wipe out an entire organization like this?"

"I don't know."

TIMESKIP

After traveling away from the site, and with shaking and solemn air gone, Ash and Serena continued their traveling.

We arrived at Coumaline city a few hours later. During that time, a few wild pokemon challenged Ash, and he beat them easily.

After getting a few refreshments and calling Climont and Bonnie, The duo made their way to the gym, which was up a hill.

The sun was going to set soon, so if they wanted to battle they had to hurry.

When they made it up to the gym, the gym leader was still there with a cane in one hand and the other behind his back. He smiled as he greeted Ash.

"You are here for the gym battle?" The man asked. Ash nodded as he reached for a pokeball.

"Alright then. My name Ramos, the gym leader."

He pulls out a pokeball from his coat.

"Go Jumpluff!" He shouts. Ash reaches for a pokeball, and grabs mine.

"Go Talonflame!" He shouts. I emerge from the ball onto the arena. A clear look if shock appears on his face as Serena silently giggles in the background.

He sent me out by mistake. Great.

Ramos wastes no time in attacking.

"Use acrobatics!" He shouts. The jumpluff leaps up at me and attempts to hit me. The pokemon simply phases through my body as I turn around to face it.

"Use leech seed!" Ramos shouts. Jumpluff produces green glowing seed as they fly towards me. I just move to the side as the seeds fly by.

I look at it unimpressed.

"Use shadow claw!" Ash shouts. I dash forward in an instant and activate the move, sending the Jumpluff flying forward, instantly fainting.

The pokemon is taken back by the gym leader in a red beam of energy. Ramos sends another pokemon.

"Go Weepinbell And use acid!"

The pokemon appears on the dirt and launches a purple sludge at me. I swiftly dodge it.

"Use shadow ball!" Ash orders. I produce a ball of darkness at my snout and launches it. The Weepinbell dodges it.

"Weeve around and use Acid!" Ramos shouts. The pokemon jumps up and moves around me, spitting more poisonous sludge at me. I start to dodge theoves when suddenly, my leg explodes in pain, and I'm hit by the Weepinbell's move. I grimaced in pain as the poison took hold, but I still stood.

"Use Ghost chains!" Ash calls. I summon up purple chains from the ground and surround the Weepinbell with them. However, it simply break right through with minimal effort. It hit me again with acid, furthering the damage on me.

My chains broke somehow. They're starting get more brittle. I don't know how I haven't noticed yet.

I feel the poison take a little more of my will away as I move leap away from the pokemon, scratching the wood floor. At this rate, the poison's gonna knock me out of this battle.

I spam shadow balls and I barrage the Weepinbell in a storm of them. It stands no chance as it faints and falls to the ground. I feel another wave of pain as Ramos retrieves his last pokemon.

"Lets do this, Gogoat!" He shouts. From the ball, a large goat with wooden branches and leaves protruding from it's body emerges.

"Use grass knot and pin it down!"

Before I can react, several thick blades of tall grass sprout suddenly around me. I attempt to jump out of the way, but the vines wrap themselves around my legs, pinning me. I struggle in vain, pulling and biting on the grass.

"Use grass knot again! Don't let up!" Ramos yells from across the battle field. More plants pull me to the ground as I desperately struggle against them. I still feel the poison gnawing at me, slowly weaking my strength.

I use psychic to try to get the plants off me, but my concentration is continually interuppted by pain.

I see now. Ramos is trying to stall for time so the poison takes me out of the battle. He's aware that's his only option to defeat me.

My vision start wavering at i feel my limbs collapse under my body. Everything turns into a fuzzy mess, colors bleeding into each other, making even the simplest of shapes unrecognizable.

My eyelids slowly close as feel my head drop into the ground.

But suddenly, my eyes shoot awake, my vision cleared. I involuntary clench down on my teeth as my body moves on it's own.

A new wave of strength is bestowed upon me, as I feel all my pain disappear. The grass is violently ripped apart as I stand. Gogoat attempts to spawn more, but each pathetically snaps apart.

I hear Ash cheer behind me as I gain a boost of speed as I hurtle myself at the Gogoat. A purple chain emerges from the ground beside me, grasping at the pokemon. Gogoat skillfully jumps away, but my chain grabs onto it's thick leg, and yanks it backwards, whipping it's head forward.

I use shadow claw and hit the Gogoat on it's back, pushing it back. It lands on it's feet and skids to a stop, kicking up debris.

"Gogoat!" I hear Ramos shout. "Use-"

Before he can finish his order, I sprint forward and use shadow claw again. It jumps to the side, avoiding my advance.

I use psychic and push it into the ground before using shadow ball, sending the pokemon away from me. It still manages to land on it's feet, but noticeably less elegant than last time.

I chase after it, not letting it gain a single inch of space. I hear the drowned out voices of the trainers, especially Ash, but it as insignificant as the sound of fly.

I summon more chains and wrap them around Gogoats neck, it struggled and roared as I raised it into the air, leaving it dangling.

The chain tighten around it as more creep around it's body, slowly contracting it.

A voice in the back of my head is screaming at me to stop, but I ignored it.

The Gogoat yells in pain as a smile forms on my face. I savour the moment as I tighten the chain further.

"GHASTEON!!"

A voice snapped me out of my thoughts. The chains disappear and the Gogoat flops to the ground. I turn to see Pikachu, glaring at me with a mix of concern and anger.

Emotions of shock and guilt overrun me as I turn to see the heavily injured Gogoat, Ramos shedding tears as he leans over his pokemon.

What have I done?
