《Law of God (Book 1)》Chapter Twenty-Two

I was sitting on Jacob's bed while stroking his hair, and I just watched him peacefully sleep. Jacob is a fourteen year old boy, just watching him go through all this stage of hate, even at school, or wherever he goes, and I get stared at at work. I even sometimes have people taking pictures of me and my brother.
Shortly after exiting Jacob's bedroom, Mrs. Hutchinson was walking her way up the stairs, and I sighed. "Is Jacob asleep?" Mrs. Hutchinson asked. I took another deep breath and slowly sighed, "Yeah." Mrs. Hutchinson shook her head.
"Um, I want you to understand something, Mrs. Hutchinson. I want to thank you, for believing in me and Jacob. You know what's been going on these last couple of months." Mrs. Hutchinson smiled, "You have my support. I told you from the beginning when we first met that you'll always have my heart and soul." I understood, shaking my head, softly smiling. "Um, I hope you don't mind staying here for another hour? I think I need to just head to town to straighten my head." Mrs. Hutchinson shook her head, understanding mr. "You take all the time you need." I thanked Mrs. Hutchinson with a soft smile and thanked her. Mrs. Hutchinson sighed as she saw me head down the stairs, grab my car keys and I leave the house alone. Mrs. Hutchinson felt bad for me and Jacob. She didn't like what was going on.
I sighed, getting out of my car and I went inside this bar. Once I sat down at the front of the bar counter, one of the bartenders asked me what I wanted to drink, and I said vodka before saying please. The bartender hung his dishwashing towel over his shoulder and he started to prepare the drink. I thanked the bartender and I started drinking away my stress.

Once I stepped inside the house, I was walking a little drunk. I sighed, laying my keys on the console table and I shut the door. Mrs. Hutchinson then saw me coming in after she had woken up, and she noticed how drunk I was. "Ryan?" Mrs. Hutchinson looked at her watch. "Ryan, it's almost midnight, you got me worried." Mrs. Hutchinson stood from the recliner and she walked up to me.
"Here, let me help you." Mrs. Hutchinson grabbed me by the arm and she helped me up to my bedroom. Mrs. Hutchinson then helped me lay in my bed, she took off my shoes and socks.
I mumbled a little, and Mrs. Hutchinson asked me how much I had to drink. I then fell into a deep sleep.
Mrs. Hutchinson was then worried about me. She took the covers and grabbed my legs and feet and put them underneath. She then stroked my hair. Mrs. Hutchinson turned off the lamp and she left my bedroom. I was in a deep sleep the whole night, until the next morning, I woke up with a hangover.

Hello? Traveler? Hi. My name is Silas. I’m the Chronicler around here. Might I entreat you to stay with us a while? We are a meager fleet of artships, eking our way across the charred and shrewd universe. Please, join us around the table and tell us your story. Our lives depend on it. I’m sure you know this world proves demanding, strange, and lonely. But here we go together, a caravan fleet of spacefarers, challenging the starry frontier, investigating the strangeness. Our warp-drives run on inspiration—a volatile fuel collected from the active minds of the artists, writers, and musicians among us. But the clock runs out—the Heartless in their scarships seek to destroy all that is beautiful, systematically deconstructing all creativity in order to fuel their weapons and feed their evil powers. We’ve all been hurt by those hateful devourers. We’ve all lost loved ones. But no more. No more, I say! Together we unite and make our arduous journey to the dreadful Shattered Suns—the home of our enemy.
