“Up!” Jake shouted, “you need to go higher!”

Jaska pushed up, and the ship span on it’s axis.

“No! Pull towards you!”

Jaska did, and the nose of the ship her side rose, and the ship steadied itself, horizontal.

“Good,” said Jake. “Remember, everything you need to do is the opposite of what you think.”

“Okay. The opposite,” repeated Jaska. She was a little scared but remarkably calm under pressure. This was partly because spinning around out of control was really funny. Crawklings has little regard for their own lives.

“So we’re going to turn left now,” said Jake. He gave a nod and pushed left. Jaska pushed right.

Jake’s side of the ship began to curl downwards, ready for the left turn. Jaska side began to curl to the right.

By the time Jake noticed it was too late.

“No Jaska, left!”

“But you said the opposite!”

“That’s only for up and down,” sighed Jake knowing it was his fault.

The two wings curled downwards and met underneath the ship where they locked together. Jake had hoped they might have a little more practice before they got themselves into this situation, mainly because he couldn’t exactly remember how to get out of it. The meeting of the wings was greeted by a whoosh, and the ship jerked forwards sharply.

They had entered hyperspeed. The ship span forwards at a rate of 30 light years per hour, swerving from left to right, up and down. It was only a matter of time before they would hit something.
