《Killing demon as a deity》Chapter 20

“-No”
Kira's body moved on its own and brought the blade up to his left and slashed horizontally and let out a wave of flames.
His flames increased in size and released from the edge of his blade, scorching the air ahead of him and destroyed every arrow in sight.
“I’m sick of being some kind of hopeless bystander!!” Kira shouted.
The flames around his blade subsided and were reduced to a thin layer of fire which travelled along the absolute edge of his blade in between attacks.
Kyosuke flew back by the impact of the sword attacks and collided into the wall surrounding the manner, cracking it slightly with the impact.
‘It’s coming apart…’ Kira noted.
Kyosuke got back up and didn’t pay any notice to the growing mass of skin wrapping around his arm and shoulder.
His speed increased exponentially and burst forward to Kira with his bow aimed up at the sky. He pulled back what was once a bow string but had become a large fleshy rope. After releasing his grip, a single large arrow of electricity pierced the sky.
“You missed me!” Kira lunged forward with his sword and prepared for a downward slash engulfed in flames when the sound of lightning caught his attention.
The clouds turned dark as if a terrible disaster would arrive on earth to swallow the land.
“Arrrgh!! Die!” Kyosuke lashed out in a raging fit and countered against Kira's attack using his bow as a blunt weapon which blew both parties back.
‘That bow of his grew some weird kind of skin, but skin isn't that solid- I think he got even stronger…’ Kira thought nervously.
The gaudy thundering sound was soon followed by a cloudburst of electrical arrows focused over Kira's head. They reached the ground in less than moments and destroyed plots of dirt on impact, destroying the side buildings of the manner.
‘This guy’s going to take down the whole place if he keeps going like this; I can’t keep this up forever either. I need to make the shot, only one strike!’ Kira considered while dodging between arrows.

The rain of thunder was focused over Kira and followed him wherever he would step, the attacks were relentless and never gave an inch of peace. Kira seemed to hold his own as he wasn’t caught by the attacks and didn’t let himself slow down.
Each arrow would be followed by ten more before he could have the time to react. One after one he needed to dodge; strike and slash with as many flame attacks as possible.
‘It isn't fast enough- Moto’s sword style and my movements aren’t meshing together fully.’
Kira started speeding up in his movements; his feet had already been moving faster than he was able to strike but in that moment where his entire being was being tested; he unconsciously made the correct adjustment to his stance.
Through every pivot in his feet he would make the correct movement with the rest of his body, and his mana followed suit.
The Moto sword style was based off of powerful actions that used heavy motions in order to strike through defence but this wasn’t suited for Kira’s build at all. In that moment his body was developing a new style to match his speed and power equally.
The flames around his sword began to change in shape, forming more refined waves of attacks. The mana was retaliating to the changes in his style and the power had amplified as such.
‘This is getting a bit easier, I think I finally have the hang of this- something is weird though, I’m moving lighter than before. I can’t fight like Moto because I don’t have the same power he does; this style will have to do for me then.’
Kira planted his feet deep into the dirt and created a spiralling shape over his head using the flames around the blade. The fire spread out into a vortex above his head which dispersed the cloud entirely and every arrow trapped inside its heat.
“This is the fruit of my training, the style I created. Scorch wheel!” He exclaimed.

The demonic mass had already made its way through most of Kyosuke and infected his legs all the way to the right half of his face. His bloodshot eyes and distressed expression were quite disturbing but weren't enough to turn Kira away.
“You gave into this, called me a demon but let it do this much to you. I thought your precious order was built on destroying demon not becoming them!” Kira shouted while mowing through Kyosuke’s attacks.
“I…I…will not fail him…” Kyosuke muttered in desperation as he fought off the animalistic instinct driving him to fight.
Kyosuke stopped his attacks and gripped the side of his head in pain.
‘Even now he can only think about that guy…his so called father that led him to this moment. Let him become this…’ Kira thought as he closed the gap.
“It isn't right. Why should you have to suffer like this for someone who wouldn’t do the same?” Kira called out.
Kyosuke grit his teeth and seemed stunned at his accusation and began writhing in pain. Saliva shot out of his mouth as he started throwing his body around in place, trying to shake something off or come to his senses.
“I will…kill you- NO MATTER WHAT!” Kyosuke leapt into the air with a burst of speed and when he was over Kira he let his arrows fly.
He sent a barrage of wind arrows flying and didn’t let up on his attacks. Kira pushed forward and struck each one head on using his flaming blade.
‘The Kuroi style I came up with is really something, I’m moving much easier and even have full access to my flames when I centre them through my blade.’
“Midnight slash!” Kira called out as he struck the vortex wind arrow ahead of him, bursting through it and sending a physical slash of black fire towards Kyosuke.
The slash travelled through the air and crashed into him, hitting him with a wall of fire that burnt against his skin. Kyosuke cried out in pain like a wounded animal, gripping onto the burnt portions of skin.
The demonic mass that was growing over his body burnt up and took the brunt of the attack, shrinking back down to only a small section of his bow. Kira noticed the shrinkage and exclaimed out suddenly then rushed in closer.
The crest of the order which was painted on his bow had started surging with the purple aura that surrounded him before but was now focused into the bow only.
‘They said that it was a gift in order to slay demon…so that symbol is what causes this. If that is his weakness then- With everything I have!!’ Kira closed the gap.
Kiramaru started to feel the force from the bow pushing him back in a desperate last resort, he could sense a strong connection to mana that was all too familiar.
He broke past it and stood over Kyosuke with the sword raised above his head; Kira screamed out in rage and brought it down with a crash into his bow. The blade pierced into the crest; black flames and purple aura danced around each other, encompassing the area in a burst of colour until both were gone.
The bow crumbled away and Kyosuke stropped his struggling and fell back on the ground unconscious. The last traces of the demon skin growing over him crumbled away and vanished.
The only thing left was the slight burn marks and wounds that stretched over his arms and chest. Kyosuke had completely forgone any signs of the demon aura that he was surrounded in before.
Kiramaru placed his sword into its sheath and stumbled back as he looked down on Kyosuke.
“Just how many people have you been hurting…Ko.”

Zen Chardo is just your average highschool student, at least that's what he thinks but in reality he is quietly extraordinary. Its as if he only exists when interacted with, like he has no place in reality and if it was up to him he may well have faded into obscurity if not for those closest to him. Despite the otherworldliness of these embellishments Zen is in fact human and like all humans is drawn to others, it is through these bonds that he makes his mark on the world... or should I say worlds, for this is a story of adventure and magic in another world. A young man's quest to safeguard the future of those he cares about. This is the story of Zen, the Animus Smith.
8 237Of Life and Light
Home. By definition, such a word means "A place where one lives", but what happens when one is removed from their home by those with greater authority? One would seek out another place to live, of course. Karastak, a Devil King and a Fallen God of a world called Terra, was removed from his world by something greater than himself, and has journeyed to the world of Azzarath by way of Azazel, God King of the Azzarathean Pantheon. Perhaps she performed thusly through pity, charity, or a simple act of kindness with no strings attached. Regardless, he is deposited near a village upon a mountainous range within the world. There, he meets up with his Human family, a grizzled old Templar, a shy Cleric, and an apathetic Mage, that came to take him away from his troubles, but he does not budge. That is, until one of his servants speaks of finding a new home. However, perhaps instead of finding a home, he finds adventure instead? The story within is a Frame Story, which means it is a story within another story. In that this one is being told by three personages, a God King called the Ageless, a Lich King called Brutus, and a Goddess named Sarah. Each of them speaks of the Ageless's past self, one called Karastak, as he journeys onwards throughout the worlds within the Azzarathean Pantheon in search of something more.
